First of all, you go in and they have a nice little loungy area.  Free tea, wine, snacks.  Free wifi.  Nice and newly decorated.  Cute too.  Love the Latin American art work in the bathrooms.  Super nice staff.  So, as for the classes, have only attended 3 but can tell you, great teachers.  Make you feel at ease, fun activities, mix it up, etc.. The book they use is great! High frequency Spanish words, idioms, etc... I had a groupon this time.  I would like to take next session as well, but as you know, language classes are expensive.....  I would recommend this place.

Just wrapped up a great 8 weeks at MC!  MC was very accommodating and helped me find the right class.  It was so much fun.  The facility is also well thought out, comfortable, provides a great atmosphere, and I sure appreciated the wines and teas and snacks for the adult classes.  My teacher's conversational-driven approach was perfect, and the people in class with me were great.  Thanks MC!

Aw, I love this place. I'm just finishing up the 8wk adult Spanish course (Intermediate 1), and can say that it was well worth the price. The space and classrooms are actually a lot cuter than expected, the teachers (and all the staff, for that matter) are lovely, and there's free parking and free wine, tea, and snacks!

Veronica was my teacher, and she was able to balance the varying speaking levels of my classmates with ease. She's a great teacher!  However, if you choose, you are able to move up or down to a different level of difficulty after your first class if that's what you feel like you need to do (assuming space exists) - Multilingual Chicago is very flexible in that aspect, which is much appreciated.  The only negative is that sometimes (at least when I was signing up) there aren't enough interested students to fill up a particular class level, so you might need to move up or down a step when you register. Sign up people! These classes are great.

I'd love to try the Italian boot camp!

I can't say enough about Multilingual Chicago! I wasn't looking to take classes, but to complete a proficiency test to certify my bilingual status with my company. I had contacted other schools in the area and no one was able to provide me with exactly what I needed. Multilingual Chicago worked hard to create an evaluation which met my needs, at a completely reasonable price. Jennifer (the woman that worked with me to set up the evaluation) and Stefania (the woman that proctored the evaluation) were incredibly friendly and professional. The director of Multilingual Chicago even came over to personally introduce herself to me. It is a laid back atmosphere with a very professional way of getting things done. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I'm super grateful!

I took a class here after getting one of the YouSwoop deals-the Spanish bootcamp class to be exact this past Sunday.  The classrooms were very modern and they even had a lunchroom with tea, coffee, and snacks.  Very nice.  The staff is super friendly.  I've heard there is free parking right by the school, but I parked nearby in the neighborhood.  They have a lot of activities to practice the language throughout the class so that keeps one from getting bored.  I realized definitely though that I learn better by reading first, and the class is more listening and comprehending and for a person with me with a nearly nonexistent attention span, it probably won't work, but the classes are good, and I'm sure someday I'll be back.

Some things you need to take into account before you read this review....

    A) I have no children (tho if I am cursed with them in the future, I'd like them to be bilingual)...so I have no idea what these "children courses" entail. My experience comes from the adult classes only.
    B) I am very cheap.
    C) I like to drink.
    D) I like to learn....but, casually, on my own time.
    E) I am pretty lazy...there is a reason I'm not in grad school yet.
    F) I should not have started taking classes during the spring and into the summer....in Chicago, none the less....because I am very "kasuula" and my time outside of work hours is filled with dinners, drinking, beaching...etc...you get the point...you know, things normal 20 something year old Chicagoans do while the weather is above 43 degrees Fahrenheit.

And, onward we go. When my lady and I ended things, I decided I needed to do something to stimulate my brain while it was rotting away sitting in front of computer and dealing with customer requests all day. Around that time, I found a Groupon to Multilingual Chicago in my inbox. (Unfortunately, I have no recollection of how much it was for...) I immediately bought one. My original intention was to pick back up on my Mandarin. However, I was dismayed to find that they didn't offer a course that was my to my level...so I needed to pick a beginner language.

Spanish, French...you know, the standard Euro languages didn't interest me...and they didn't offer a course in Patois...so I was a bit stuck. Therefore, I waited to see if they would offer Arabic. Why? I don't know...I just wanted to learn. I had no specific reason.

I started Arabic I in early spring and have continued on to Arabic II. The teacher is patient and willing to explain any reasonable question you may have to the best of his ability. The employees are really sweet as well and are willing to go out of their ways to do favors for you, which definitely adds to this "home atmosphere" that fellow yelpers seem to be describing.

In regards to price, live language lessons are pretty pricey in general. I will say, after shopping around when my Groupon deal ended, the prices here are very reasonable...and they do offer returning student discounts. I can't quote an exact amount...I'm too lazy to go thru my credit card receipts. ;)

All in all, not many regrets. So, yes, as a yuppie in Chicago, I've been pretty pleased with my experience. Definitely helped in overcoming the relationship blues.

Couple of side notes: They offer wine with class...so the lush in you will be very happy. The employees/teachers here all seem to be fairly young and single...don't be surprised if you develop a student crush here or there. ;)

I have painful memories of an entire classroom of kids laughing as a I mangled German verbs..and grew up with a total lack of self-confidence regarding learning a foreign language.  I didn't want our child to have the same experience...and I'm certain he wouldn't at Multilingua.

This is a great school for kids...warm, friendly, fun and a great place for their waiting parents...free WiFi, organic snacks and a lovely little cafe like area in which parents can relax or work.

    What a great place!

I took a one day Boot Camp here and thought it was great! It's hard with my schedule to commit to a weekly class, so this was perfect! It had all the basics to make me feel like I had a good background for the language. The teachers are great, too!

I recently took the all day Italian boot-camp.  It was a fantastic experience.  The instructor (who was from Rome) was excellent.  We covered all the basics while practicing each grouping of words after being paired up.  She had great examples of English words that contained some of the sounds we needed to replicate for authentic Italian, too.  They also have a very nice receptionist, kitchenette, snacks, coffee and tea.  I didn't take part in the lunch because I brought a sammy but the class was free to place an order with the receptionist to have food delivered.  I feel like I'm much better prepared for my trip to Italy and have the basics necessary to study and practice on my own, which is the stated purpose of the course.  It was intense since so much had to be covered in 7 hours but it was so good that I'm thinking of taking some of their full language courses.

These guy are great and nice as can be. I took Spanish 1 with Tony. He was great. We had a class of 4 people. He was patient and never made us feel stupid because we were learning too slow or weren't catching on.

My only problem is that my life is so hectic I didn't really have time to practice and study. You need to do that to get the most out of it. It's still definitely worth it. I will be back to take another class, but after I can manage to free up some time.

Adrienne does the scheduling and is great at communication via email and really easy to work with.

They also have some free lectures that are very worthwhile going to and a lot of fun.

    I highly recommend Multilingual Chicago!

my daughter took a spanish class her and really loved it, she is three.   The teacher was so patient and energetic.  It made me tired just watching them.    They did crafts in spanish, which was a huge hit with my daughter.  Now my she asks me where I want my stickers in spanish.

Our 2.5 year old takes a Spanish class here and she loves going. The space is great, with a cafe-like space for students to hang out, there's always coffee (really good coffee!) and snacks for the kids.

The teacher, Anna, is great with toddlers and gets them to really engage in class. It's a great addition to the neighborhood.

My fiancée and I are getting married in Mexico this coming Spring and thought it would be fun to do a weekend spanish class to prepare for our trip. Lucky for us, MLC offers a truly cool program called Bilingual Boot Camp.

We arrived on Saturday at noon and spent the better part of the weekend at this terrific school. Everything, including, the instructors, the owner, the curriculum, the ambiance of the space, the yummy snacks and hipness of the neighborhood was perfect for us.

The weekend curriculum covered common verbs, vocab and phrases. All very useful for a beginning or even a lower level intermediate spanish speaker. The teachers were great about showing us how to use what we were learning in real life, as we spent a portion of the weekend out in the neighborhood going to restaurants, street vendors and stores where spanish was spoken .

Gratefully, not only was the class itself fun and full of useful Spanish, but the classroom space itself is both cleverly designed and well-thought out.

Bottom line: A wonderfully enriching way to spend a weekend learning about Latin American culture and language, presented by people who are passionate about teaching.

    Multilingual Chicago es MUY BUENO!

I am a new student in Spanish at Multilingual Chicago, and I am so impressed with the program. I have tried other language classes in Chicago, and have continually become discouraged with my progress thus never really becoming successful in the learning of the language. However, the curriculum at Multilingual is really suited to making the adult student more successful. I really feel that I will finally become confident in speaking Spanish.
In addition to learning the language, the school also immerses the students in cultural aspects of the countries  where Spanish is spoken. Last night's Spanish wine tasting event was not only educational, but a great way to meet others who are enjoying the challenge of learning a second language.
    Thank you Multilingual Chicago.

In my line of work I assist small Hispanic-owned businesses with starting their company and more importantly build their capacity with government contracting opportunities.  A number of my clients are Spanish speaking only  (which I am not), and I've been fortunate enough to know and understand Spanish, but not fully communicate in Spanish.  My usual counseling sessions would usually begin with my client speaking to me in Spanish and I retort with my response in English - luckily they understand English as well.
So I heard of MLC's Spanish for Heritage Speakers class and knew that it was an ideal fit for me.  It turns out that I am regaining my ability to speak Spanish again and it's a wonderful feeling to know that I am becoming bilingual!
This is a great place, great staff, great educators, great facilities, etc.  I highly recommend MLC to any interested in learning another language!
