Temecula Valley
This is a fun place for kids and the new water feature is very nice. All I can say is don't eat the food, it's not food. I'm not sure what it really is but it made my daughter very sick a few hours after she ate it. I mean come on, just take it up a few notches and buy the basic institutional food. It can't be that much more expensive than what you are serving now.

Took my 3 kids there for an adventure on their last day before school started. We'd been before, and in the past, I've always felt the staff actually does puts forth an effort to help everyone have a good time. And I appreciate that, particularly at a massive place full of screaming, overstimulated, sugar-hyped kids that challenges all of my abilities to remain calm and happy while my pocketbook is simultaneously drained of all legal tender.
So, discovering that they were running an unlimited, all-day, wristband special for $16 made this mom dance with unbridled joy. The only things it didn't include were most of the token-sucking games (although some did offer free play w/ an unlimited wristband) and the batting cages. (Luckily my kids aren't in to things that require a stick, a ball, and manual labor, so the 6 for $5 batting cage tokens was just enough to leave them panting and annoyed.)
The place was swarming with glassy-eyed children running around wildly with ticket tails flailing in the wind and stoic parents loaded down with backpacks, towels, strollers, and empty wallets. The line to buy tickets/wristbands was long, but moved quickly. Ash waited on us at the register. I was clueless as to the pricing/options/specials and he was cheerful and patient while explaining them. He didn't even get annoyed when I changed my mind after I bought the wristbands and decided to buy the batting cage & game token deals.
I was pleased that almost, if not all, the games were working and for the number of adults, kids, and zombies walking around there, the place was actually pretty clean. When a couple of games ate my son's tokens, the employees cheerfully and quickly refunded the lost ones. Not sure if (or how) they continue to squeeze attractions into that place, but there's a pretty cool rock climbing wall and multi-level playhouse inside that I don't remember from before.
After satisfying my kids and my maternal instinct to cheer them on while they dropped a cool $20 bucks trying to win a 50-cent candy bar and an odd looking stuffed troll, I ordered some food and sat down at an indoor picnic table. It needed to bussed (crumbs, a clean plate, a used soda cup), but nothing I touched was sticky (Woo Hoo!)
Our order (1 pizza, 1 polish dog, 1 fry) took a long, long, long time to get done, especially since, despite the number of people in the place, few seemed to want food. The thing that bothered me most was that the pizza was piping hot, but the dog and fries were barely above room temp. Wished they would have coordinated it better rather than let the other food get cold while the pizza cooked.
The other thing that annoyed me was that I went up to the counter as soon as they called my number the first time, but (despite standing right at the counter between two manned registers) no one would acknowledge me. So, while I'm standing right in front of them waving my receipt around for attention and trying to not be rude, a woman grabs the mic and calls my number again (with this "did you not hear me the first time" tone) without so much as looking at the counter to see if I'm there. But, in their defense, if I had to work there, I'm certain there'd be a few parents and a few kids wearing their food home.
On the upside, the fountain drinks were cold and extremely well calibrated. They have a great selection of drinks and the ice dispenser seemed well stocked. Yeah, I know, I'm a soda snob.
After eating we moved to the outdoor area. Lots of picnic tables and although I only once noticed someone cleaning/bussing them, they were very clean. Great that they keep the area clean and maintained and aren't obtrusive doing it! The women's restroom was clean, dry and well-stocked. As a bonus, I didn't feel the need to take a scalding shower (or throw my daughter in one) after I got out.
As for the outside attractions, I pretty sure every one of them was working. That meant less crying, screaming, and fit-throwing all the way around, which is good because my kids hate it when I do that! The lines were reasonable too.
I got three thumbs up for the laser tag and go karts, which held their attention almost the whole time. Batting cages were fun too and the area around them is quieter and less populated, so watching them gave me a welcomed bit of peace too. It was heartwarming watching my kids interact and actually bond without tears or fighting.
Anyhow, we were there 6+ hours. Dropped about $80 for 3 teenagers (which got them unlimited everything (almost) and plenty of food, drink, and fun). I could easily have spent more than that on a 2 hour movie and concession treats for the four of us (with zero interaction & a fight about which movie), or dropped a few Benjamins and an entire day to hit Disneyland, Sea World, or Magic Mountain (with a long, crabby drive at the end).
So, in retrospect, Mulligan's is not only a pretty cool place to take the kids, it is a bargain too! -

Very friendly and great customer service but not a ton of variety and gets extremely crowded at "high" season times like school vacations. If the main thing you want to do is bring the kids to miniature golf, do yourself a favor and just buy golfing, then buy extra activities a la carte rather than buying one of their unlimited packages. It'll be a better deal. Older kids (like tweenage boys, who seem to be the main demographic) will want an unlimited bracelet and they can easily spend several hours here.
Attractions are a bit worse for the wear but nothing is dangerous.
Mini golf is RIGHT ON the freeway. You literally look through a chain-link fence onto the sad little patch of grass alongside the 15.
My kids (4 & 8) love the blaster boats.
We've been to bday parties here and the kids seem to like it though if the group gets too large, it can get a little chaotic-feeling. They have party rooms upstairs for pizza etc (you can bring in your own food) and they run multiple parties at the same time.
Best deal: buy holiday passes which go on sale during November and are good through March. -

There isn't all that much to do in regards to having fun in and around the Temecula/Murrieta area, so this place does pretty well. I've been here many times back in the day.
Their batting cages are pretty cool but I'd suggest bringing your own bats because the ones they provide suck. The mini golf is fun for the first few holes and then you get bored hit the ball as hard as you can towards the freeway so as to entertain yourself. The go carts are a lot of fun and the bumper boats I find to be rather lame. Laser tag is tons of fun especially when you play with kids who act as though they are inside a Call of Duty game. The rock wall is fun to race your friends on especially if you've knocked back a few drinks. The video games can be fun and I can't tell you how many thousands of tickets I have on a card lying around somewhere in my parents house unredeemed.
I suppose if you are in the area and not willing to travel and not opposed to dropping a small fortune to come here...My dad's work has a family day every so often where we get free access to all the rides etc. which most definitely makes it worth it! -

Mulligan Family Fun Center is actually a bit of fun. My boyfriend and I have been here a couple times. The very first time was after a bad movie and we needed something entertaining to do to make up for the night. We noticed this place and had wanted to stop in before and check it out. We each used $20 to get tokens and had a blast acting like little kids playing arcade games. It was late on a Friday night so some machines were turned off for the night and others had no tickets but we had fun playing anyway. What was great was the staff stayed after closing to make sure people could cash in their tickets for prizes. I was very impressed.
The second time was to go to the batting cages. We brought our own bat and had a good time. They actually shoot out quite a few balls for the tokens you put in and there was an associate nearby to help out if need be.
We will be going back to try out the golf course and go carts. :) -

This place is a bit of a joke. Filthy dirty golf clubs and balls for miniature golf, dirty food area, dirty bathrooms, ridiculous beauty pageants for little girls who are pushed by their mothers into this and look very unhappy, and although there is a limit on how many in one group can play mini golf, alot of people don't abide by it and just do what they want. Like the group ahead of my friends and I who consisted of 10 people who deliberately took their time playing.
Is this the best that Murrieta has to offer? -

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
The good was mini golf, nothing extraordinary but just mini golf. Quick tip...there are two 18 hole courses. We chose poorly and took the first one we saw...and so did everyone else. Why the poor choice? People crowding, taking too long and climbing up our butt even though we couldn't go anywhere with people playing in front of us too.
The bad was the girl running the Jumping Kangaroo. After my 6 year old another girl rode the ride she opened the bar to let them off but didn't warn them...so they both fell off of it. Nice.
The Ugly? The carousel. I have never seen a more broke down Carousel ever. Lights are burnt out, there is no music and even my 3 year old looked devastated riding it because it was so slow. Ever hear a 3 and a 6 year old say... " I don't like that Merry Go Round, I don't want to ride it again"? I can now say I have...
Fun for what it is, but it isn't much. -

Did I just bag a "first" on this piece? That is suhweet...
This is a "family fun center" located just off the freeway in Murrieta (southern riverside county), CA. It's down the block from the Murrierta Spectrum, which looks like a branch of the enormous Irving Spectrum over in the OC. It's a huge, stand-alone property obviously harkening from a time in the distant past (mid 80s?) when condos and single family homes hadn't been built everywhere.
Murrieta itself has developed to the point where it could be any suburb in north/central/southern california replete with starbucks & the various tokens of everywhere suburbia, but Mulligan's is, shall we say, a little bit more colorful then that.
For one, the restrooms smell like feces. Remarkable!
We went here to play a quick 18 holes (of mini golf). Frankly, the course was dissappointing with 0 play through obstacles holes. What's the fun of that?
They also have boats, mini racing cars and batting catches. -

Give 'em a break! There is not a ton to do in Murrieta/Temecula and Mulligan's is the best of the few all-ages options.
The mini-golf course could go for some updating/renovating, but as for variety of activities, this place has something for almost everybody. Mini-golf, blaster boats, go-karts, laser tag, arcade and batting cages? Yes please! They even have a little section for the smaller kids.
If you want to do everything in one day, the price starts to climb, but during promotions and special days (do they still do the Tuesday all-access thing? worth looking into...) a person can really have an enjoyable time.
Downside: expensive food. Leave the park and head towards nearby Burger King or Chick Fil-A. -

There is not a lot to do in Murrieta so i thank god for this place. $25 bucks for an all day pass is steal for all the crap you can do here. Go Karting is the main highlight, the staff says you can't bump but everyone still races dirty, and they don't care. There's also mini golf, laser tag, rock climbing, and blaster boats. There is also an arcade, but that was a bit lacking in the games area. Bring in the classics (Street Fighter II, X-Men, Metal Slug, TMNT). There is an XBOX 360 gaming area where you could play madden, halo, and Guitar hero amongst other things. For all you in the Bay, it's just like Malibu Grand Prix. It's a nice little distraction to help you forget that you're in Murrieta.

the miniatature golf course looks tired and, as Scott noted below, there were no play through obstacles - when I miniature golf there better be windmills and faux ol'timey mines to putt through. it was hot, my husband beat meand the arcade smelled like unwashed children. two stars
