Review from Denise F.
I LOVE Vincent, he can highlight dark hair without using bleach, he's a total hair magician!! He cares about the health of your hair as well as the appearance of it...he also gives great tips on how to take care of your hair properly & maintaining your color at home! He's a master stylist & has trained at Vidal Sasoon in London (I think), he's a great listener & gives you a FLATTERING cut & color that looks right on you...and if something you want might not be that great, he'll be honest & let you know, and gives you some other creative ideas that might suit you better. He also won't do things that damage your hair (ie: bleaching your black hair into a platinum blonde, and doing extensions & making your hair fall out) haha
Go to Vincent, he's the best! But make sure you make an appointment a few weeks in advance, he's a busy guy!! -

You always hesitate as a man to go to a new hairdresser. So did I when I was looking for a new place to shorten my hair. I moved here from Switzerland a year ago and didn't found a decent place so far.
I can definitely recommend Britney for a very good cut. She knows what she's doing and she is very friendly. I went already the second time to this place and will go next time my hair is due. You even get a discount the first time.
BTW: They are open on Monday even if Yelp says they aren't. -

Yet again, super stellar service. Rudi and Alanna are SO AWESOME. I have never been taken such great care of! So pleased, and as a type A, long haired control freak, this is not to be taken lightly! Have now converted the boyfriend, thanks to Lauren! Best salon ever.

After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to take a chance, and boy am I glad I did! I have been here twice so far - both times, Amber did a fabulous job cutting and styling my hair. I like the fact that she takes into account my own personal tastes/styling ability, and then also has her own suggestions on what will work. A definite plus in my book. I've been recommending her to all my friends as well !

Thank you Josset!!! I have had the hardest longest month and a half. I decided to treat myself and get my hair done. Today I got a cut, all over color and high lights. Josset is amazing. I had a general idea of what I wanted and Josset turned into to magic. I am so in love w/ the outcome!!!

I scheduled a last minute hair cut appointment about two weeks ago. I have long hair and was trying to grow out the last screw up (went to another salon in the Dublin area on a promotion) where I ended up with "steps" instead of "subtle long layers". Turns out the stylist I went to specialized in mens haircuts (crap).
I am a new mom and combined with the horrible haircut, my only style choices have been either to put it up in a pony tail or bun. Blah! Brittany ended up being my stylist at Mu and she was able to fix it-and I love my hair now! She's very nice and great with long hair. She did have to cut several inches off but she made it painless and gave me great style! AND IT STILL LOOKS LONG!!!
You get a water/tea while you're getting your service and the owner is a doll herself. There were two other ppl in there at the same time getting their hair styled for a wedding and they walked out looking fabulous. It's definitely worth the money (which isn't bad at all either) and I will be back to sample more of their services :) -

This review was written by my wife...
Amber is simply the best. I've been trying to achieve an angled bob haircut for the last year and Amber is the only one who was able to pull it off. I have really thick hair that tends to flip out easily and it always took so much work to get it just right. Amber was able to fix all that. She took her time and cut it so perfectly that I now only need to blow dry, not even using a round brush, and my hair just falls into place. I can't say enough...Amber made this working Mom so happy!!!!! I have so much more time now in the morning to chase my daughter around. Go see Amber, you won't be disappointed. -

I really love Amber, she did an awesome job on my whole family. The salon is very trendy and modern yet is very friendly - no snobbery here. The owner Rudi is really sweet. So glad I found this place!!

Now, why do I believe that the majority of the reviews about Mu Salon are fixed and/or written by friends and family? It would be a solid one-star rating here, unless I didn't get my money back, which was the most I've ever paid for a salon cut and color, whooping $215 after the 15% discount.
I called in and was setup with Brittany. I trusted the reviews about the place, and even tho I didn't see any about Brittany, I just trusted that I would get great service there. Big mistake! I asked for dark chocolate color with fire-truck red highlights (wanted to change up my style a bit), and received brown-goldish hair with blond highlights! Way off..... Besides, she was very rough with my hair, it really hurt while she was brushing it, and on top of everything she scalded me with hot water when washing the color off. I was not happy when I came home and realized I just paid 200 bucks and didnt even get close to what I wanted. They were nice enough to invite me back to "fix it". Brittany had a bad attitude from the start as soon as I walked in second time, trying to explain what I wanted (dark chocolate color with red highlights). When I asked for a color scheme, she said (and Ruby, the owner confirmed) that stylists don't like and prefer not to use the color guide. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard!!! Really?! How else are you going to know what color you like?
Brittany ended up bringing one out to me, and there were just about 4 bleak colors of brown scheme there. Finally, Rudy brought a more complete color guide. When we finally decided on the color, I asked if Brittany could cut half an inch off (and I would pay for that), she said that I should had asked her the first time I was there to cut more hair off. That's not exactly the way to treat your customer, especially after you dyed their hair the wrong color. She got aggrevited and ran off to get Rudy. Then Rudy came out huffing and puffing and yelling at me. Apparently, I didn't know what I wanted. I was shocked! Then she ended up telling me that they didn't do the color like I had asked the first time, because it would have looked bad. Sounds like a bunch of lame excuses for a job not done right. So, of course, I was happy to get my money back. The place is waaaaay overpriced, especially when the cut and color is done by someone who is not even a stylist yet, but is a stylist in training, like it is listed on their website.
Overall, like I said, I was just happy to get my money back. But the place is overpriced, also, watch out who you make your appointments with. -

I loved my first visit, I found them through Yelp and I received 15% discount. Lauren was great with HIGHLIGHTS! I have thick long hair and sometimes nightmare for hairdressers. Lauren is very capable of managing the highlights and a haircut. After trying four different salon in the area and not being satisfied, I finally found the SALON! Good prices, and great hair!

I had my haircut by Amber last weekend and I'm loving it. My hair feels so light and healthy. It's the perfect length and looks great. I feel so put together. Thanks again Amber. :)

As you can see, I don't write many reviews, but felt compelled to do so since I chose this place because of reviews. I'm giving the salon 3 stars because they're are incredibly friendly and nice, but I'm pretty disappointed with my hair. The color came out ok, but it was a single process and I had expressed I wanted to put a little color up front. I'm not the expert so I didn't pay much attention to the process. The cut however is awful. Maybe I don't know how to express myself, but I came out with a school girl look when I need to be highly professional. I came home and my families reaction told it all. I didn't feel like Stacy was listening to me at all. I've paid less than half of what I was charged for much better results and I even tipped because I feel like it's obligatory and feel "cheap" if I don't. I think I'm going to have to learn to speak up! I'm going to another salon to get it updated.

I don't live in area, but my parents do. So on a recent visit I realized it was about time I gave my hair a trim. The yelp! reviews sounded great, so I called in the morning and Amber fit me in that afternoon. The decor is modern and sleek, the area looked clean, and Amber was fantastic. She was friendly and personable, and did amazing work on my admittedly hard-to-cut/style hair. She was meticulous at making sure it fell perfectly after she blow-dried it and I walked out feeling confident, unlike some other salons where the hair goes straight into a ponytail until I get home and can fix it. Price is reasonable and I love my cut. Thanks, Amber! : )
