Mt. Brow is a small family owned winery near Sonora and Columbia State Park.  My first experience with their wine was recently with a 2005 Merlot that a friend gave me.  It was beautiful and I was sad when we finished the bottle.  I went to the source and got another bbottle of the Merlot and a White Sangiovese.  The Merlot is waiting, but the San Giovese was enjoyed during a trip to the coast.  I will buy more.
The winery is open for tastings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  If you have company from out of town, call them and you might be able to arrange a private tasting.  The owner, Jim Costello is great to talk to and you can tell he really loves what he is doing.
What a great find so close to home.

I've been to a shitload of wineries, and this is the most inviting winery I've ever been too. Owner Jim Costello and his wife greet you upon arrival and are ready to get you drinking. ..uh, I mean "tasting'.
I could honestly stay there all day and bullshit with Jim. He's just that kind of guy.
The wine is pretty kick ass too. I recommend the Caruso and White Sangiovese.
I believe they're open weekends only, until 5. Do yourself a favor and stop by next time you're out that way
