What better way to celebrate Spring then with a Southern style meal. Ms Dorothy was very helpful when I wanted to have her cater my party. I had a vision and she suggested the food.
****Fried chicken - wonderful flavorful and juicy, not super greasy. I even ate the skin. finger licking good
*****collards - oh the love in this was fantastic but i love collards
****dirty rice - had a little kick. very flavorful
*green beans - over cooked for my tastes, i like mine more al dente
****okra, corn, and tomato - YUM, I am not an okra fan but in this combo it is really good
*****green salad - wow super fresh ingredients; but who eats salad when you got all this other great food.
*****smothered pork roast, - this was a favorite for everyone. fork tender and smothered in gravy.
*****sweet potato pie - YUM my favorite. flaky crust and light filling
*****peach cobbler - everyone even though full went back for seconds on this one. juicy peaches and crunchy crust. I throw a few strawberries in mine before reheating and it is super YUMMIE!!
For my next southern party, I will definitely invite Ms D to the party.

If you know what Sumpin' Sumpin means- then you gots-a make that call. Ms. D's food is off the hook! If your idea of soul food is Powell's, then visit the web site and then make the call. No hate for Powell's but this lady makes 'church food'!
The pork chops made me cry out in joy- I piled greens on my corn bread and the dirty rice was great! I finished it off with a slice of sock-it-to-me cake!
This food is absolutely fantastic! If you love Soul food or want to try the real thing give Ms. D (Dorothy) a call and tell her Randy sends nothing but raves about her fried pork chops and collard greens- don't forget to make sure you get that extra Sumpin' Sumpin on the side.
