3 reviews for Ms B's Used Books & Cd's
Have been coming here for years - this is a great place to save some money if you are buying books. They have a great selection, and can easily direct you to where you need to look to find your book(s).
Prices are great - soooo much better than buying new.
If you're out in Hendersonville looking for some books or CDs, then I only have one thing to say to you: "What the hell are you doing looking for any type of art in Hendersonville? Get out of there!" But if, for one reason or another, you're out in H-town and want to do some book or music perusing, this is your place. Trust me.
The store itself is adorable. There's a little bee on the sign out front, and the lady who runs the place is quite sweet. It looks as though she's simply opened her living room to the public, and she's organized her scores and scores of books into neat little sections. For an independent seller, she has a pretty impressive collection, and if there's a book you've had in mind to purchase, she'll probably have it. I've never come across anything too rare at B's, but I haven't frequented the place since my high school days, so it's possible.
As Sharon mentioned in her review, Ms. B's CD selection is pretty limited. You may find a Gin Blossoms or Yo-Yo Ma CD you want or something (if that's what you're into), but it's best to go into B's expecting much more in the way of books. I'm a huge supporter of locally owned book and music stores, so it's pretty hard to rub me the wrong way if you're an independent seller. That being said, and despite the fact that it's in Hendersonville, Ms. B's is a pretty neat little spot.
Ms. B's Used Books and Cd's is a cozy den full of books and a few cd's. There are probably at least 100 books on each general subject you can think of including philosophy, math, self-help, Oprah's book club books, religion, all the standard book categories you would find in your local Barnes and Noble, which all add up to quite a lot of books. All the books are in fairly good and gentle used condition, the store is quiet with a good cozy atmosphere.
The prices of the books are really reasonable, I would say about 60-70% of the books are around $5. So, not as cheap as you might find at a garage sale, but at Ms B's you are much more likely to find what you are looking, and they even have a section for books that are required reading by the local schools. The shop is much more pleasant than driving around to yard sales all day too, thanks goodness for climate control.
Not too many cd's at this shop, so I would mostly recommend this place for used books.
