I've been coming here for years! Consistently great, especially when theyre fresh out!
The great thing is that they're open 24/7, so if my friends and I are bored at 12:00 a.m and craving something sweet, we know where to go. ^.^
This is the best donut shop in Modesto hands down! -

I've heard a lot of good comments about Mr T's and well I have only tried it a few times and wasn't disappointed. Coffee wasn't great but donuts were. Next time I will be trying more of there variety.

To get DOUGHNUTS as good as this place you have to drive all the way to Portland for voodoo doughnut.
I've killed so may hours of my life hanging out in the wee hours of the night at Mr. T's with my friends over the years. I can't imagine this town without them and their warm pillows of sugary goodness. it really is all about the blueberry fritters and apricot filled sugar doughnuts, along with all the other original creations they have. -

This place keeps the fat girl that is hiding inside of me very happy.
When pregnant with baby number four I would come buy a dozen...and I hated sharing.
Chocolate bar is the best but there isn't anything here that I have had that wasn't super yummy!
Also the staff are great. I loved that every week after my OB appointment I would come in for my donuts and the girl behind the counter would always talk baby talk with me! Even now they are so friendly and always smiling when we go in there.
I will not buy donuts from anywhere else! This is it!! -

I grew up with this donut shop and absolutely love it.
They have a great variety here of different donuts. All are made fresh daily and are soft and fluffy.
Also, this place is open 24 hours and is not only convenient but of really good quality IMO. The workers are friendly and helpful and I have never been disappointed with this place. Though I don't live in Modesto anymore I am sure to visit here at least once anytime I come back home to visit my family. -

great donuts....possibly the best ones I have ever had. Great local mom and pop shop. They are open 24 hours!
I have brought many a donut to my office from here...perhaps I can attribute my fellow co workers bulging bellies to Mr. T's?
Love this place. -

My friends and I have been coming here since our high school days. Of course, the donuts are delicious and cooked 'round the clock so something is always fresh. Mr. T's is a staple of Modesto and almost every local will tell you that you've got to have the donuts there.
The people who work here are so warm-hearted and friendly that they always ask me how things have been. I can't come home without making a trip to Mr. T's to meet up with old friends and have a delicious taste of home! -

When you come to Modesto, you have to try Mr. T's. If you live here, you know it's the best donut place in town. The prices are pretty good and the quality is of course the best. No other place in Modesto compares. It's a small shop but there's a sitting area where you can have your coffee, milk, tea, or juice and donuts.

I HATE THIS PLACE! It should be illegal for donuts to be this good. I really don't need fried flour, sugar, maple flavor, sugar glaze, custard, etc. to taste this good. And, they're always open, they sell these devils in disguise at cheap prices, and they're friendly and helpful. Put these people in jail where they are powerless to add to my waistline.

BAM! 5 Stars. Never had a better donut EVER! If you want do it up like a pro go to Mr. Ts at about 2am on any given day and get those warm fresh delicious donuts straight out of the oven. Order a maple bar or one of those giant cinnamon rolls with maple or chocolate on top.... then head to the gym and spend the next four hours exercising it off. I promise it is worth every minute on the elliptical.
If you are planning to eat yourself into oblivion or looking to have a spiritual awakening... or both... then make this your first stop on your path to enlightenment. -
Review from Karen G.
I was in a donut mood this morning. So of course I had to stop by Mr. T's to get my fix. Service was super duper quick despite there being a line. The lady who assisted me had a huge smile on her face and seemed happy to be at work. Now that is something I admire, especially since I'm so not a morning person.
I ordered six glazed donuts (not all for me, duh) to share with my coworkers. They always appreciate it when I bring in treats to share. I could not wait to get to work so I could enjoy one of the fluffy, yummy donuts with a cup of hot green tea.
I figure the antioxidants in the green tea helped to balance out all of the naughty things in my donut. ;)1 Previous Review: Show all »

I really don't know what Mr T's Delicate Donuts could do to get any better. Wait, I just came up with something: hire the REAL Mr. T to sell their donuts. I'm sure the guy could use the work...especially after getting snubbed for that "A-Team" movie that's supposedly in the works (http://moviesblog.mtv....).
They clearly can't do anything to improve the donuts (or doughnuts, if you prefer)! They're fresh, delicious, sweet, flaky little tori from heaven! I absolutely LOVE their cinnamon rolls - full of cinnamon goodness, light glazing rather than the thick, heavy, cream cheese frosting some places like to slather on top! So good!
Old fashioned, raised, bars, filled, holes...they pretty much have 'em all! My family always enjoyed these sweet little confections for breakfast, and when I got my own wheels in high school I frequently hit up Mr. T's for some late night sugar fixes with my pals.
Now that I've moved away, I really miss Mr. T's treats, and it's on the top of my list of a half dozen or so spots I always try to return to when I'm back in the old stomping grounds. Yeah, the prices may have gone up a bit since the good ol' days, but come on $0.50/donut (when bought by the dozen) is a screaming good deal for donuts this good!Listed in: More than a stone's throw away

I like this place... a lot.
This place is open 24 hours and when I got here at 10am on a Saturday this place was packed. I can easily understand why though... you can smell the donuts from the parking lot. Luckily I got a parking spot in the front and I saw people in their cars eating their donuts.
When you walk in there are friendly people at the counter ready to help you. I got a dozen donuts for $7.75 and I've never seen such a wide variety of donuts anywhere. They even have different sizes of donuts just in case you want to try something but not get too full off of one. (For example. I love apple fritters but I usually don't get them because they're so big, but at Mr. T's you can buy small ones for only a $1)
If you're ever in Modesto try this place out and I recommend the old fashioned blueberry and cinnamon rolls. -

When is a doughnut not a do not?
When it's not from Mr. T's!
This is the place for impressing your new work buddies.
As a new employee, wake up a little earlier and buy some doughnuts for everyone in your office. Do that and order a coffee box from Starbuck's and you're as good as gold.
You will never be hated, unless you do evil things and backstab everyone.
Then maybe someone will hate you.
And even then, people will say... You mean doughnut guy? Noooooo! -

Seriously, the only way this place could get better is if they offered free liposuction after consumption of these incredibly fantastic donuts. I have fond memories of being a child and getting a couple of donuts and a chocolate milk before school. Unfortunately I still have the same eating habits, but regardless of that anecdote this place is fucking sweet. Everything is tasty, cheap and fast...as it should be!
Oh yeah and they are open 24/7 so if you ever get the munchies, they got your back. -

I rarely eat any type of junk food and when i do its chocolate.. On the rarer occasion ill just crave a doughnut. When i do the ONLY place to go it Mr. T!! Completely worth my travel of 20mins to go there.
If you haven't been then go! How can you go wrong with a 75cent doughnut -

I love to suport Mom and Pop shops. I think it is great for our community but the food/sevice has to be good or it's good bye mom and pop, hello Dunkin Dounts.
Not the case here!! To keep up with being the most popular girl in the office, I occasionally stop at Mr. T's Donuts and bring donuts in the office on my way to work. Just kidding- they love me with or without donuts!
The donuts here are so soft and amazingly melt in your mouth. The service is wonderful, friendly staff and decent prices. They get a little busy before 8 am so don't stop if you're running late unless your boss is generous with your time like mine is since I have 3 kids to get ready before heading to work. -

Ah Mr. T's Dounuts...
It's been an early morning staple in my life since I was a little boy. We used to live two blocks from here and would routinely walk over here early in the morning for a fresh doughnut covered in sprinkles and ice cold milk. Ah the memories! These days I prefer a nice cruller or apple fritter with a strong cup of joe.
There are no better doughnuts in town. Enjoy! -

I've been going here for almost 20 years now and although it's changed ownership the doughnuts are still to die for.
I pitty the fool who talks any jibba-jabba about Mr.T's. It's the best! -

First, I have to say that if Dreamworks were anything like Pixar, they probably would've animated Mr. T's into Monsters vs. Aliens- Modesto was giantess Susan's hometown, after all. But no, I was disappointed to find that the 3D movie Modesto was so not the real Modesto :(
Anyway, I went here during a business trip after searching yelp for things to make the day a little more exciting. The French crullers were definitely the highlight of my trip, though it's only because I love French crullers- and Mr. T's tasted like any other cruller I could get back in the bay: moist and sugary. Extra star for an impressive selection, and because the cinnamon twist was also pretty good.
I wouldn't trek 2 hours to Modesto solely for the donuts. Maybe if they added a Star Wars theme park (I totally missed out on witnessing their George Lucas plaza statue. It was way too hot, I had to get out of there, but not before grabbing a delicious donut snack!) -

I almost flagged the 2-Star review for this place as spam, cause that's just BS. This place is amazing. They are so fresh all the time and everyone is super friendly.

Growing up in the wonderful bread basket called Modesto...you learn where the best of the best reside. In this case....donutty goodness.
Everyone local knows that Mr.T's has the best, constantly fresh and cheap donuts, and the people who run it haven't changed a thing about it over the many years they have been open.
I worked for Papa Murphy's from my Junior (2008) year in high school till the end of 2007 (I know right?) in several locations. When I worked mornings at the Tully rd Papa's, I became quite fond of my friends at Mr. T's.
You can truly appreciate Mr. T's in the morning, afternoon or evening. They are the best! -

Wow... amazing!
When Krispy Kreme hit town i thought they were amazing... but i must have been disillusioned by the shiny, fancy machinery they had to make their donuts. but this place has nothing on krispy's.
Absolutely the best donuts around! Friendly people!
The best part is that when ordering a large order... like 30 dozen... they quality is the same throughout!
And their open 24 hours... can't go wrong there! -

Great donuts. The daughter and I were there mid-day and were so happy to see a HUGE variety of donuts, muffins, chocolate topped cinnamon rolls (yum) chocolate cake donuts, glazed donuts, raised glazed. The list is endless. The flavor? Fantastic! They were light and fresh and not heavy or tasting like they sat in oil. Prices are clearly marked as well. Friendly happy woman behind the counter helped us. I told her that I read such great reviews that we just had to make the drive to Modesto to check them out for ourselves. I am a happy person. :) If I lived next door to them, I would be in real trouble because I would eat there everyday. The woman that helped us told us the baker makes the donuts all day, even in the afternoon so we know they were fresh.

While I am still a devoted Mr. T's fan, I have to deduct a star. Bummer. I was in there this morning for my daughter's birthday donuts. For those of you who have kids in the Salida School district, your aware that absolutely NO home-made baked goods are welcome! Damn. So instead of gross overpriced store cupcakes with a pound of fake sugar frosting, my daughter opts for Mr T's.
The prices have gone up. I believe a dozen used to go for just under $6. Now a dozen is $7.25. Absolutely no price break for buying multiple dozen (is that proper grammar), not even a bag of donut holes to soften the price gouging. (I know a few other shops that do both). Also they charged me to use my ATM, who the hell carries cash anymore??!!? Geeze.
And while I bitched this morning about all of the above, I still paid and even ate a donut. Damn your Mr T's for making the best donut eva!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Yum, their Cinnamon Twist are awesome. Especially with girlfriends and red wine after dinner on Friday Night.
Great little place, a very different experience than your regular mom and pop donut shops with the stale oil smell. This place is very nice. Love it!
