I haven't been here in four years but to this date, I have yet to find a better chicken sandwich. Used to eat one about every two weeks. Moslty would go to this place because it was right down the road and was a chill place to hang out and have a beer. But the burgers, fries and sandwiches are all cooked to order right in front of you at the bar and very tasty. The staff was always cool and it had a good atmosphere.
Can't wait to go back again.
this is some tasty burgers man. i got a bacon burger and it was perfect. the tomatoes were good and tasty the lettuce green and crunch and pickles that perfectly complimented whole deal. the fries were ok but immense. the rings were just about perfect. as i was leaving i swear to god this is exactly what happened. some crazy old tweeker lady was sitting at the bar with some old man and chatting up some pale lookin younger gentlemen. the old lady said to the pale and i quote "that is an interresting pinky ring. why dont you tell me a story about it?" i almost shit my pants.
love joel
1. I can walk there and get hammered without having to drive
2. Their daily special are really worth it. $3 Maritinis? Half off imports? AWESOME
3. THEIR BAKED POTATO THING IS FREAKING DELICIOUS
If you play soccer at Mission Valley YMCA, Mr. Peabody's makes for a quick and easy post-game beer and turkey taco, which I recommend. I was a little skeptical of the turkey taco when one of my teammates first recommended it to me. It comes with guac and is surprisingly fresh for how dingy this places looks. The beer here is cheap and the food is served quick. 'Nuff said.
In one of my recent visits to SD, I was debating what I should eat. Struggling with where to dine, I went on the mobile yelp site and searched for local bars that served great food by Mission Valley. Turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made on an impromptu dinner run. Thank you Yelp!
So I found this bar that was relatively unknown to my circle of friends, but has been widely reviewed by other yelpers. Everyone recommended the turkey burgers and the turkey tacos. I thought that's something very different from what I normally try, so why not? Ordered both!
My friend wanted a side of sautéed mushrooms and expected to be on a plate, but the cook placed them on top of the cheese instead. It turned out great! The ground turkey burger meat was extremely flavorful and juicy and it didn't taste like turkey! The tacos were just as good. Although I wanted a second helping, I was too full to chow down any more food. We ordered a side of fries and beer, and the total bill came out to be only $24!
If you want a different kind of burger or taco but still great food, I definitely recommend to at least trying this place. You won't be disappointed. Mr. Peabody's has a very local neighborhood bar feel and I definitely would come here again to try the rest of the menu!
I stumbled across this place yesterday afternoon since my friend was hungry for a late lunch. He said he's eaten here before and they have good burgers, so I accompanied him and had a beer since I already ate. I guess this joint is frequented by students from USD since it's at the bottom of the hill from campus.
Their menu is entirely on the little table top where you would normally find happy hour specials or promotions on. They have a big chalkboard behind the bar that displays their daily specials and I suggested he just get that, a turkey burger with cheese. He had the choice of Swiss or American and also ordered a basket of fries for me to help him with.
The beer and fries came out first and I sipped on my Pear Cider while we watched the Park View little league team (my elementary school alma mater by the way...woot woot!) crush a team in the World Series finals on the 60" plasma next to our table.
The fries were good, he said his turkey burger was really good, service was good and the prices were good. Overall, it was good! They serve beer from home town breweries, so that was a plus (way to support the locals). However, when I walked over to use the restroom, I thought I walked into the janitor's closet because when you open the door that leads to the restrooms, there's a bunch of junk in the hallway that you would normally expect to be placed in a back room.
Would I go back? Maybe, but only if he was the one that really wanted to go...
I had no clue where to eat. I spent time reading reviews on yelp but it didn't help my indecisive mind. How do you plan for something when your taste buds change upon arrival? Jonathon L. had given me two recommendations (this being one of them!) So I finally decided to give this place a try. I told myself I was going to order the turkey burger, but sure enough I was hungry for something else when we arrived. I ordered two chicken soft tacos with a side order of french fries. The friend ordered two fish tacos. The cheese was perfectly metled which blended with the rest of the vegetables. I would have asked to remove onions if I knew that it came with cold onions- yuck! Otherwise, tacos were delicious and filling. The french fries on the other hand were light salted, yummy!
The restaurant was filled with locals which were either perching at the bar or filled up the booths. They were discussing their fourth of July plans. haha. I could imagine this restaurant being a perfect college hangout during the school year. I got this sports bar vibe but without the students. haha.
4 stars for tasty tacos but I had to knock off one star for the waitress not greeting us nor asking if we wanted anything to drink. We sat there for about 5 minutes until somebody noticed.
After hearing about Peabody's a few years back when reviewing different burger joints for an internship... but never trying it out, I finally tried it after checking out the Rock n Roll Marathon.
I would have to agree with many of the previous reviews, you can't do wrong with a burger... add some cheese, a lil avocado and grilled onions and you're good to go. The burgers were nice and juicy (although it could get messy and if your like my bf he hates messy/hard to eat food, but he still enjoyed his burger). We also ordered the onion rings and fries, good portions!
The location is kind of weird (but I guess if you go to USD this is kind of a hangout spot). The service was decent, our waitress was nice BUT another girl came and dropped off an order of fries and onion rings and we knew it was the table next to ours because we had just finished ordering and instead of saying let me check, she was rude and in an unfriendly/monotone voice said "I don't know I just bring the orders to the table". DUH you're a server, we know that! Didn't even bother to check or anything. They lost one star for bad service!
This place is neighborhood dining at its best, and that means great food at a good price served by a friendly face. I have been here at least 10 times now and this place is consistently good. The shrimp tacos are excellent and not smothered in too much sauce. The turkey tacos are excellent, delicious and decadent but they don't give you that horrible feeling of regret afterward. That being said, you can eat and drink well here. They are consistent and you will never be disappointed, as this place under promises and over serves!
They offer great daily specials, but their prices are very modest anyway so it's not that big of a deal. You will never get attitude here. You can sit at the bar, inside, or out on the patio...the jukebox plays good tunes, but not so loud as to be disruptive to your shrimp/turkey taco experience. Try it once! You will not be disappointed and I'm quite sure you will find yourself coming back for more. Nice to find a place that is consistently good.
The location is sort of tucked away in an old time strip mall in the old part of Fashion Valley. There is always parking and it is really nice to get away from the hustle/bustle of Fashion Valley Center.
In the 93108 zip code (where I'm from), there's a great local hangout called Peabody's. Now, in my new 92108 neighborhood, one of my favorite places to go is Mr. Peabody's. Coincidence?? I'm not so sure...it might just be a vast conspiracy of some sort. I'll definitely have to look into it further. Anyone from 94108??
Ok, on to the review. Mr. Peabody's is excellent. Whenever I'm close to school and want to get a beer with friends, this is the place I go. Post-softball games on weeknights? This is where it's at. Casual place to take a date? Why not! Mr. Peabody's is just a cool place to chill, have some good beer (Yellowtail's on tap!), and eat some astonishingly good food. I kind of wish it were a bit larger because it does get a bit cramped in there sometimes. I'd recommend expanding to take over the NYPD Pizza place, but some people might hurt me for a suggestion like that! Then again, the small size of Mr. Peabody's does give it some added local charm, and you can be closer to the cute blonde servers that have been mentioned in previous reviews. (Totally true, by the way!)
All of the positive comments on the turkey tacos are 100% deserved. Each serving doesn't cost a whole lot, they're really tasty, and the portions are HUGE! Sometimes it's a struggle to finish both tacos, but they're so good that I usually manage. If the $3.99 price is just way out of your price range, you can always head down on Mondays for their $2.49 special. This has to be the best deal in all of Linda Vista.
If ground turkey isn't your thing, I'd also recommend the chicken tacos for a little bit more. Also, even though I'm not an onion fan, my brother is, and highly recommends the onion soup, which is Mr. Peabody's own recipe, made from scratch. Finally, the other great thing about this joint is that they prepare orders to go. If you're in a rush, don't feel like dining in, or just enjoy the comfort of your own home, call in! They'll very gladly wrap things up for you and they're usually very quick.
Conspiracy or not, places with "Peabody's" in the name have been good in my book. Give this one a try, and you won't be disappointed!
In my relative world experience, this place is as classic as Coca~Cola. This was one of the only bars anywhere near my college campus, which made it a popular spot before evening lectures, poetry readings, theatre and the like. I cannot imagine how arrogant that previous sentence must have made me sound.
Anyway, there are drink specials all week, $2 turkey tacos on Mondays (I think they still do this), and great burgers. The burger they make here is comfortable. It's not one of those best of San Diego burgers people are always gang warring about, but rather a delicious, greasy feeling of love. I've had turkey burgers here more times than I can count and have never been disappointed.
Peabody's feels a bit like my Cheer's, only nobody knows my name or remembers me because I'm not around all that often.
Oh, they have a great juke box. There was great rivalry last night in the bar between Pantera and Dave Matthews. In other words, everyone is welcome at Peabody's.
I have no problems with places that are good at one or two things only. Lately I have been to a lot of such places. Peabodies is good at fries, turkey burgers, and tacos. The fries are crunchy and soft at the same time; bit salty, but never overpowering. The turkey burger's meat is moist and tender. Tacos are solid, not spectacular.
But, the prices are a bit high. And the food selection is limited. And everything else is...well meh. And jeez, the extra charges for cheese and avocado? Come on. Get real.
Go for Thursday martini night. $2 martinis, which is awesome. But because Peabodies is so limited, it's difficult to go there often: I only go if I want a burger AND there are $2 Martinis AND the place is not that busy. Because there really isn't any other reason to be there other than for the Burgers and Martini specials. It's just another place.
My co-worker told me about this place. The said co-worker frequents this place every Wednesday for happy hour. The co-worker always raves about this place so I thought to give it a shot. I went here on a Friday and it was pretty decent. I wouldn't show up with a big group unless all you're going to do is crowd the bar. It's best to keep the group small, maybe 4-5 max.
Pros: The cute, pretty, friendly blonde waitresses, Turkey Tacos
Cons: Parking. Don't let that stop you from trying this place though. You can either get really lucky or just park on the street.
I went last week with the BF, and after one bite I turned and said, "Oh yeah. I'm gonna Yelp the shit outta this place."
I've been to Mr. P's like 12 times or so in my 2 years in SD, and I've never had a bad experience. The turkey burgers are so good that the BF was legitimately pissed off he couldn't taste them due to a severe head cold. The onion rings and french fries are pork-fat-a-licious, being able to get a 1/2 and 1/2 order is just a stellar idea. And beer isn't terribly expensive - on Monday night it's $2 off pitchers. I also really like that this place is small. Despite its size, it's never terribly crowded. I've never had to wait for a seat, except during the NCAA basketball tournament, which is actually a really great time to come visit the place.
The selling point for me is the service. The servers are always s'damn happy. It's like they're pumping pure oxygen into the joint or something. I have never had a server who was less than extremely cheery, helpful, and grateful for my business. This is one of the few places that I will happily deal with such chipper people, otherwise get your perpetual cheerleader smile out of my face.
Peabody's was the perfect go-to spot in college for a pint and a burger. It was an 8.5 second drive from campus, had Yellowtail on tap, and boasted the finest burgers within a three-block radius. After I graduated, Peabody's became a throw-back; that place that reminded me of the glory days of empty bank accounts, boxed wine, and crawling around drunk on the floor with a giant Peabody's burger cruelly trying to exit my stomach.
As I've grown older and infinitely wiser and more sophisticated, I've moved on to ordering tacos and quesadillas, and scoffing when they fail to impress me with their tap list. However, I must commend the sales rep. at Ballast Point for convincing them to regularly offer a special release along with Yellowtail. Last night they had the Rocktoberfest on tap, and my tongue rejoiced. Though I must wag my pretentious little finger at their downsized portions. The burgers and quesadillas have surely been dieting, and are no longer their voluptuous old selves. Disappointing for the gluttons among us, and those entitled diners (like me) who eat out expecting leftovers for lunch the next day. I understand it's the apocalypse, but a recession is no excuse for cutting costs and operating more efficiently.
Despite their mediocre culinary offerings and unfortunately saavy business decisions, Peabody's still provides me the opportunity to wash down my warm fuzzies about college with a refreshing pint and some greasy pub fare. A pleasant waitstaff and a decent jukebox help round out the experience.
Peabody's!!! Got turned on to Peabody's when I used to visit a friend down in San Diego. He used to live around the corner from them, so we would stop in after a night of debauchery and feast upon the turkey taco's... these wern't no ordinary taco's.One of them looks like an unrolled burrito and if topped with the beaver sauce and house dressing could easily substitute a night of mediocre sex. After scarfing down 2 of these I had become an addict...needless to say I am now a San Diego resident and frequent Peabody's quite often to get my weekly fix of the turkey taco...
Dammit now i got to go get one!!
One of the best turkey burgers in town. No frozen patty here. It's delicious. The turkey taco salad will more than fill you up. I love the spicy bleu cheese dressing. And of course because the fries and the rings are both excellent, I get both. A basket of frings hits the spot.
I would give 5 stars to Peabody's - the food, the staff and sports on the tv are great, unfortunately, the jukebox is not my cup o' tea and is often too loud. Also, there are either a few ridiculously loud regulars or drunk USD students that seem to think their conversations are so fascinating that we all must want to hear them. Wrong.
When I first moved to San Diego, I checked this place out because it is walking distance from my apartment. I was impressed with their burgers which are pretty big and good. I started going here more often usually when I had class or something because it is close to campus.
More than their burgers, I really like their turkey tacos and turkey taco salad. But if they had chili cheese fries, this place would be money and I would probably order it every time i go and be 20 pounds heavier than I am.
It is always a fun place to go to after class, grab a quick bite, or just to hang out.
So this past St. Patty's day me and the crew decided to head to our local joint so we could have "a few," adult beverages which they had really good specials on and enjoy ourselves, but then SCCCCCCRRRRRRRHHHh, the record that was playing was pulled off because they ran out of Guinness at 8:30! So no car bombs or pints for us. We were rolling 7 deep and were pretty pissed.
The crappiest part was that guinness and carbombs were on special and they were didn't even offer up to give us other deals. Luckily, there was a liquor store across the street where I copped some Jamesons and Baily's and we rolled back to the crib.
But, the damage had been done. My karma was shot after putting up with that nonsense. So after I have my first carbomb I get this phone call which leads to a conversation that totally harshed my buzz. This broad I was seeing probably heard that I went to Peabody's and then decided to continue the nonsense and dropped some serious garbage on me that chewed up the rest of my St. Paddy's night.
And let's not get into what happened the previous year's St. Paddy's day celebration at Peabody's. Let's just say word on the street is that Peabody's is a cop hangout and you can't walk home without getting taken to the drunk tank. Yeah, that happened to me.
This place might be a perfectly good place to go, but both times I've been here I've seriously regretted it.
Close to home with great burgers and pitchers of Stella. I'm sold. Good pub style menu but limited.
Boots, though cute, are extremely uncomfortable. Sad, 'cause I love me a booth table.
Oh, and if you're a sports fan, they've got games on big tvs you can see from just about anywhere in the place.
Close to home fave. Great burgers & fish tacos.
We came here on a Thursday night for a late dinner ... I had just flown down to join my fiance who was already in town for business. This place had good reviews on Yelp, plus it was recommended in either my Fodors or Frommers San Diego guide (or both). It's in a small, unassuming strip mall that has just a few other businesses. The place is small and a little less "happenin' " than I expected based on the reviews on Yelp and the books. But it was just fine. TVs to watch, people to watch, etc. OK, now I sound creepy.
Service was very good and friendly, so points for that. The beer was fine ... I don't recall a particularly impressive selection, but it wasn't bad. I think they had a deal on martinis that night, which I would have taken them up on if I liked martinis ...
I got the fish and chips and my fiance got a burger and fries. The fries were good, the fish was just not. The breading wasn't great, and the fish itself was a bit, well, fishy tasting. And he said his burger was fine but "just a burger" nothing special.
If I lived in San Diego maybe I'd go to this place randomly if I wanted bar food for dinner (which, we all do occasionally), but I wouldn't make a big deal for out-of-towners to come here. Props for the friendly waitstaff though.
Nice little place with good beer and great shrimp tacos.
I love a place with a grill behind the bar.
The best burgers in San Diego!! Don't miss the frings either.
The equivalent to the "Peach Pit" or the "Max" for many of us USD law students. Mr. Peabody's Burgers & Ale (better known as "Peabody's") is literally right down the street from where I live and right down the hill from campus. They have a pretty good selection of beer on tap and have different specials every night. Overall, their food is really good - it is your typical bar/pub food: burgers, tacos, fries, onion rings, buffalo wings, quesadillas, you get the drift.
The place has a very kick-back & chill atmosphere to it. It also does help that they have several TVs so it's a good place to go if you want to watch a game or two. The staff is usually very friendly and because we go so often, most of the time, they recognize us.. which is always a plus!
I recently discovered their chicken salad and turkey taco salad.. which are delicious! HUGE HUGE portions and they dont drench it in dressing.. which is nice. A huge slab of advocados, plenty of meat, and a good variety of veggies to compliment that huge bed of lettuce.
A great place to go for a quick bite to eat, to watch a game, hang out and knock back a few beers with friends, or unwind after a long day of work/class. Highly highly recommended!!!
OH.. and they are dog-friendly... I have brought my dog here a few times and we just usually tie him outside and eat out in the patio area.
During my first year of law school, I used to go to Peabody's every Friday for lunch. A group of us would head down the hill, order burgers, several baskets of fries, and a several pitchers of beer. It was a great way to kick off the weekend.
However, having seen some of the better watering holes in the area, Peabody's has lost its charm. Each time I go back, my impression is simply blah. Fries excluded, the food is just ok. Yes, the daily specials are reasonable, but the food just isn't good.
The beer selection is pretty boring for a place that has "Ale" in its name. I was there last night and I think the beers on tap were the same as they were a year ago (Newcastle, Blue Moon, Widmers Hef, Stella, Fat Tire, Bud, CL, Guinness, Yellowtail Pale, and [I can't remember, but you get the point]). Ok, we are in San Diego. As in, the mecca of frickin IPA's and one of the best craft beer cities in the country. And my choice of local beer is the boring Yellowtail Pale.
That being said, the service is good, the bartenders/servers are always friendly and get the job done (exception: I have never had a server bring my side of ranch with fries when I order them. NEVER, not even once. I don't eat my fries without ranch, so this is a poor man's equivalent of getting your ribeye without a steak knife- you just can't start eating).
Thus, all in all, if you are hungry or thirsty and on Friars, its worth dropping in. If you live in the area, I am sure it become your local "cheers" bar. To be clear, I am not saying this place is bad. But if you are choosing between several places to go, I assure you, there are better.
They serve meatloaf burgers. No, not the weird mystery meat mix slathered with tomato sauce kind of meatloaf, but I call it a "meatloaf burger" because the meat is over-seasoned. They've got way too much pepper in it. A shame really. I think the burger would have been pretty good besides this fact. They had nice green lettuce, juicy red tomatoes, and nice pickles. Unfortunately, they get you on the add-ons. Cheddar cheese? $1.25. Ca-ching. Oh, bacon? Another $1.25. Ca-ching, ca-ching. My 6.25 burger turned into $8.75 and I didn't even like it that much. :(
Fries were good, Guiness was fine, and the service was friendly and attentive, but I won't be back since I can get a better burger and beer at plenty of other spots for cheaper.
This is my little watering hole, and I love it. It's like the Max, or The Peach Pit for my friends and I. First of all, they have beer. Yummm...beer. AND, they have liquor. Second, they have the best turkey tacos (Monday's for $2.50 each) and they're HUGE. Their shrimp tacos are also amazing (happy hour Wednesdays, $2.50 each). All their food is really good, i.e. french fries, onion rings, salads, burgers, but I personally think the burger is a bit expensive.
Service is great and the atmosphere is very small and quaint. One of my favorite places to just hang out at on a weeknight.
I try to roll up to Mr. Peabody's on a Friday during Lunch Time. Parking sucks on that corner. Be sure to go around the corner and park in the small parking area.
All of the booths are taking so my buddy and I take a seat at the bar. You know those TV commercials where they talk about six dollar burgers? Yeah, they serve six dollar burgers here. Is the burger worth six dollars? That is debatable. The burger was good but not worth six dollars burger in my opinion. I ordered the turkey burger mind you.
My buddy ordered the carne asada tacos because he saw noticed that there were Mexicans behind the grill. He was going to take a chance and hope for the best. What did he receive in return? He received literally tacos filled with salad with bits of pieces of carne asada.
If I ever return to Mr. Peabody's, it's going to be during lunch time and I'm going to be ordering from their lunch specials. That's only if I return. I wouldn't pay full-price for a meal at Mr. Peabody's.
I went here for lunch and really, really, really liked it. I don't dig on cow meat, but I am all about the turkeys! Their turkey burgers are delicious; nice bun, fresh veggies, and lots of flavor. Avocado even comes automatically with it. Mama likey.
The big basket of fries was only $2 and were super fresh and HOT. There is really no other way to eat fries. There were a lot of beers on tap and good daily specials. Our server was friendly and quick. Perfect lunch spot!
I will definitely be back!
I really wish I had brought some friends and a designated driver to Mr. Peabody's. You probably would have had to drag me out of this place.
As it was, I came in and grabbed some dinner and a beer, and I only felt a little like a loser at the bar by myself. I had the Turkey Tacos, and holy shit... that's one, wait, TWO huge tacos. The food came out fast, and it was solid. Word of caution: if you like to keep your dignity entact whilst eating, skip the tacos. I had to shower off the turkey when I got back to my hotel.
There's not a ton of space, but if you and your friends are looking for a place to weigh anchor and get rowdy, this is the place for you.
I like this hole in the wall. TJ is great bartender and keeps your glass full (easy on the eyes as well). I do Mondays ($2.50 Turkey Tacos) and Sundays ($5.00 Turkey burger and fries). Toadstool and I split a side of bacon, it was tastey with the Guiness. I think Toadstool and I have left a few brain cells behind here so we go drink with them often.
They have a juke box (that is never on) and a golf game, I am the proud owner of the worst score on this particular machine. Overall this place is great for getting buzzed and stumbling home on foot. I miss you brain cells, I'll be back soon to visit.
You can bring your dog and sit on the patio and get ashed on by Toadstool, nice option.
They missed a star, no Belvedere! wah! I will talk TJ into getting it.
HOLLA!
Needed to find some local eats after moving to Mission Valley. Was craving a burger so I stopped in. Not a bad little spot. The burger was pretty tasty even though there's a couple better spots around town. What this place lacked in the burger it made up for in good service and the friendly feel to the place. The waitresses were really attentive and had a very cheerful attitude. It was almost as if they enjoyed working there. The restaurant itself has a warm feel to it. Nothing fancy. It almost reminded me of a basement bar in someone's house or a place where they know your name when you walk in the door.
At first I thought the people-watching was lacking... that was until I saw a young college girl stand up and start chugging beer from the pitcher...
This place is a weekly (sometimes more often) addiciton. Peabody's has a super cool staff-many of which are easy on the eyes-excellent food, great drinks and a decent beer selection. You cannot go wrong with their cheeseburgers (turkey or beef) and fries or an order of the most excellent shrimp tacos EVER....turkey tacos, quesadillas, 0-rings and breakfast items are all pretty good too. It's a small and laid-back bar with a good juke box and at least one video game in the corner, a great place for a mellow evening and a beer with a friend. It can get packed Thurs-Sat evenings, but if you aren't in a hurry, grab a beer and wait for a booth or sit at the bar and chat up the bartnders, wait staff or other patrons-all of whom are usually friendly and fun.
So on my never ending quest for good burgers had to check our Mr. Peabody's. Since I'm all about the burgers I can only give it 3 stars. The burger was aaaright but not outstanding.
If I was rating it as a little local pub and hangout I might have given a 4 or 5. Place does have a nice laid back vibe. You can tell most of the customers are regulars. Heck I even saw one guy come in, the staff greeted him by name and I believe they poured him a beer without him saying anything. Definitely like a Norm moment from Cheers.
Well since this place is right down the street it is quite possibly my next frequented watering hole.
We went there with a few drinks already in us so we were looking to have a good ol' time. Since they were talked up I went for the Turkey Tacos and I was not disappointed. My lady got the burger and we split some chicken wings which were REALLY good.
This place has a real homey feel. The people here are not afraid to strike up a conversation and the wait staff is crazy cool.
Peabody's you're my new friend!
Back when I used to inhabit the USD neighborhood for the more affordable rent, I would occasionally frequent Mr. Peabody's for the lovely eye candy, delicious turkey burgers, and occasional beer specials.
Eye candy = young USD frat or sporty boys, barely liquor legal, preparing for the years of womanizing ahead of them. Very cute, very friendly, and very pleasant (if your a beer drinking, sports watching, or just plain hot kinda gal).
Turkey Burger = the best I've ever had in my life. Love it and can't live without it. I seriously have cravings for this thing!
Beer Specials = so good that I can't even remember what they were :O).
When my buddies and I were in SD a couple of months ago, my buddies and I had a craving for a good burger, so a buddy suggested Peabody's near USD. I actually had their turkey burger which was pretty good. We sat at the counter top drinking away and watched them make our food. I must say it's a great local vibe place.
Oh and our server Kim was totally cool, she made my turkey burger tasted so much better. Oh Yea.....
I recently moved from PB to the Fashion Valley area and was deathly afraid of how much I would miss all of my previous PB local watering holes with great menus....but fear be gone, I found a new friend and neighbor in Mr. Peabody's!!
It's kinda like the Rocky's of Friars Road...minus over-crowdedness and over-aged fraternity boys!
Really good food and a descent selection of brew. Worth going to and would be a 5 star except for the limited amount of available seats. Other than that this place is really good, basket of fries are really good
