Mr. M's is always a solid sub. I grew up very close by and have been eating subs there since I was a little kid, usually after little league. They have a big selection of hot and cold subs. I usually go with the turkey or tuna. Their subs come standard with provolone, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, pickles, salt & pepper, and oil. You have to ask for lettuce, mayo and mustard if you want it. They also have a great selection of sodas, iced teas and chips. I know it's not that important but it stands out in my mind. I also LOVE their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

TIP: Order a small fountain drink. You wouldn't know it, but they give you free refills if you bring your cup back up to the counter.

When a restaurant has been around for more than 30 years, chances are they are doing something right. Mr. M's Sandwich Shop up in Dania is doing just that while cranking out some delicious subs and sammies for the surrounding businesses and neighborhoods. Deli meats are sliced fresh and toppings include the usual fixins. Bread is outstanding with a nice buttery crust and soft pillowy interior.

Everyone from high powered lawyers in suits to the FPL repairmen can be found ordering at the counter. You can eat in or take out and in addition to hot and cold subs, there are also a variety of sandwiches and salads to choose from. A rack of chips sits near the cash wrap and they offer both fountain and canned sodas.

It's consistently good, not fancy and always fresh. If they're busy, it can take a while to get your order out so sometimes it's a good idea to call ahead. There's also a couple TVs in the dining room usually with sports or news on to keep you occupied if you have to wait.

Mr. M's is an old school institution in this part of Broward County and I'm a fan. Nice to see a family business continue to succeed despite today's cluttered retail landscape.

When I was growing up in Hollywood, Mr M's was the spot my pops would take us to before we headed to Miami for a Dolphins game. I remember the sandwiches well and every time I'm back in FTL, this is my go to spot.

I was in town not to long ago and it was as if time had stop. Same bread, same Italian dressing and don't forget the oh so perfect shredded lettuce. You can't beat Mr M's. Enjoy!

Pastrami. There are no two ways about it - when it's lean and hot - my knees buckle. Forget about Mr. "Right" - I need to find me, Mr. Pastrami!!

Oh- where was I? Ah yes -- the hot pastrami at Mr M. is delish. My uncle used to own a deli on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I remember watching Sol the deli guy cut the fine roast beef and pastrami behind the counter. He showed me the deli meat ropes. Mr. M -- he must be Sol's cousin.

Basically, if you are in the area and crave a very, very good deli sandwich - with a big fat pickle (a MUST) this is your place. It's not cheap - but really good deli -rarely is. The sandwiches are big and you can definitely share - with the Mr. Pastrami of your dreams... mmmm! Hubba hubba!

Consistently good subs and friendly service. I'm a fan of the roast beef and turkey sub. The 12" is huge and most people end up taking half their sub home. The bread they use is nice and soft. Mr. M's is not cheap as you will typicall end up paying around $10, but it's so much better than going to Suckway or Quizno's. They also have 3 TVs in the dining area and a couple of newspapers out. It's a chill place to sit and relax while you eat your delicious sandwich...Mmm...

I had a Pastrami on fresh rye with provolone, a bag of chips, and a large Iced Tea. The Pastrami was the leanest I have had in probably forever and it was stacked though not "over-stacked". Really, an excellent sandwich in my book. If only the bill hadn't left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Is it just me or is $11.36 for lunch too much? I'm not a penny-pincher at all, especially where food is concerned, but I rarely ever spend more than 10 bucks on lunch. Actually, now that I think about it this is the second time in a week that a joint charged me extra for cheese on a sandwich....and I didn't even get a pickle!

I guess it just irks me when a place wants to nickle and dime me for every little thing. I don't know, maybe I'm behind the times. Sorry for the rant!

While I'm at it though, I gotta comment on the service too. The lady behind the counter always reminds me of somebody's mom...you know, the stern one with her hands on her hips...the one that you're afraid to ask for anything or talk to cause you might say the wrong thing. Yea, you know the one. I know they're busy but...wow!

Anyway, at least the sandwich was good.
