The crepes are good, the drinks are decent and the place is fairly laid back. I don't think I could really say anything that hasn't been said before. This review will center on its baby-friendly factor.

My mom group has adopted Mr. Crepe as our headquarters for the following reasons.
1 - Near the T
2 - Tons of room for strollers
3 - The nice people bring you your drinks and food when you have a baby with you
4 - Changing table in the bathroom (but only in the women's bathroom - what is this,1945!)
5 - No one makes a fuss when you breast feed here. And boy do we ever. I think there was one day where 6 of us were feeding at once. The clientele didn't bat an eye (but the crepe guy was in 7th heaven - which was kind of sketchy, but we just laughed it off).
6 - Great for people watching. I take my son there, sit near the window, and he just watches the world go by. A perfect way to spend an hour or so in the afternoon:)

Oh - don't get the lemonade though - WAY too sweet.

While this update offers nothing new in the way of advice for those who work from home, it does speak to a topic near and dear to many a yelpers' hearts:

Cheap eats!

For $9, you can score an over stuffed crepe of your choice of cheese and vegetable, then wash it down with a refreshing Izze soda. The portobello, basil and cheddar was my choice and this giant-sized crepe had me defeated! A rare case for a gal who can eat A LOT.

Now if only that wall of plugs functioned properly and you didn't need a key for the restroom, this place would spell work-away-from-home perfection for me!

Had the Super Chutney Crepe for lunch today. The chicken was a tad on the dry side but otherwise a GREAT crepe! All the chicken and veggies were carefully chopped to the size where you will get a very nice combination of flavors with every bite. It was nice to see that they went through the effort to use red AND orange pepper; a nice touch! The feta and goat's cheese were creamy and complex and the arugula was very fresh.

Just a note I think that the crepes are probably best "in house". They are often very juicy and i could see them getting a bit soggy on the bottom if kept in a container for 30 minutes. Don't know for sure though.

I have yet to get a sweet/dessert crepe here, but I can tell you they look very good!

So I thought I'd give it another try. Maybe a crepe with more filling will not be so overwhelming?

Ham, Egg, and Cheese crepe with mushrooms please.

So what do I think? Meh...

The crepe was so tough it was difficult to cut through. I've had crepes before, and they werent like this. They were light and airy, like a pancake but much thinner. This crepe was just dry and tough. There was ham, and plenty of mushrooms but wheres the egg? Couldn't taste it over the overkill of thyme. So strong the crepe was virtually inedible.

Although the idea of a Crepe restaurant is cool, the execution is just poor.

MR. CREPE IS DELICIOUS

I went here with my friend when I went on vacation to visit her. We went here at least once a day, sometimes more. We sat in the same spot, I'm pretty sure the staff thought we were eternally high.

I could eat here every day and not be sick of it.
Savory or Sweet, whatever.

I love this place.

While my friend had an appointment at Harvard Vanguard I decided to go get a little breakfast. Passing on the ubiquitous Au Bon Pain in the building I strolled down to Davis Square and stopped at Mr Crepe. Now to be fair I've had crepes in Paris, Northern France, Montreal and Ottawa so needless to say I've been spoiled which is why I reviewed this so sharply.

My low rating is not based around comparing though it's more based on value and that is where Mr Crepe falls flat (pardon the pun).  Walking in my first impression is that it's quite chaotic and there was only one other person in here. There were plenty of seats but frankly none were especially cleanly.  That's inexcusable for such a slow time. The menu is simple enough with a mix of Sweet and Savory crepes, and something called Super Crepes which with all their ingredients seemed impossible to be stuffed into one crepe.  I am a firm believer that simple is best with crepes so I opted for a Sweet Crepe with Banana and Nutella. To accompany it I got an unsweetened Raspberry Iced Tea.

The food arrived quick enough, the tea was served in a frosted glass mug. Which was odd not bad just odd. Probably would have made a better impact on a hot day then on this brisk morning. The crepe came out with a dash of powdered sugar. While there was any number of jams and preserves I could have had them add for free* I decided to keep it simple.

The crepe was made with thin slices of banana that were perfectly warmed to a firm custard like consistency and a generous but not too liberal amount of Nutella.  Now you can't go wrong with Banana unless its a bad one and Nutella comes straight out of a jar so really they only thing they really had to focus on was the crepe.  It was underwhelming really.  A little disappointing frankly; I expected better.  This seemed more like something I would get a place that only made crepes as a special or novelty item.  Certainly not the calling card of the business.  While not tough it was definitely not delicate, almost rubbery.

With only two of us in the place I would think it would almost be given that they would be perfect.  What really made me click the 2 stars though was the value.  Tea, 1/4 of a banana, batter and a smear of Nutella all came to $10.  A little steep for what it was.

Had the crepe been perfect then maybe I would have enjoyed the splurge more.  Alas it was not and it put a dent in the wallet.  There were crepes on the menu alone that rivaled $9 with all its fillings definitely not cheap and not worth the money.  Crepes are not suppose to be heavy on the wallet or the palette.

If your in Boston and want a crepe steer yourself to Paris in Coolidge Corner instead.

I finally returned after my previous review.  This time, I got a crepe with nutella, bananas and almonds.  My friend got a belgian chocolate crepe.  We both tried a little bit of each other's order, and both were very good.

Service was fast and friendly, especially when I asked if someone could refill the water cooler up front.

This is definitely going to be one of my neighborhood hangouts.

I like this place.  Its close by, pretty affordable, and a good time.  I think the price keeps me coming back.  The crepes are not bad, but as someone who has lived in France I consider them to be a little thick- but consistent which I think is important.

I'm not a big fan of their crepes, to be quite honest. The crepes themselves were very crispy and tough, which I don't usually expect from crepes. If anything, this really helps keep savoury crepes, which usually have more folded into them, intact. From what I've been told (and from the Wikipedia article on crepes) savoury crepes and sweet crepes are supposed to use different flours in their batter - I don't know how this affects the consistency of the crepes themselves and if Mr. Crepe even uses different batters. I've gone on at least three occasions weeks apart to see if it was just a fluke, but the texture was consistently disappointing.

Aside from the texture of the crepes, I've been fairly happy with the variety of crepes available on the menu and the overall preparation of the crepes, even though the items on the menu are pretty standard fare as far as crepes go. Nutella will make *anything* taste good.

The employees seemed to be on-edge every time I visited Mr. Crepe and I've come to the establishment at different times of day. The furniture (I'm pretty sure some of it's from IKEA) and decor make the place feel trendy and modern, which is nice. The place is roomy and airy, though I've also experienced some extreme heat like some other folks here. Fortunately, the one time it got too hot, the HVAC system thankfully kicked in and cooled the place down pretty quickly.

If you want or have to settle for crappy Americanized (is that even a fair way to describe these crepes?) crepes, Mr. Crepe will do you over...fly over to France or even this place in San Fran (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) for an experience of what real crepes are supposed to taste and feel like.

For not the cheapest of crepe prices, they really should use some of their proceeds here for an air conditioner!! IT WAS SO HOT IN HERE WHEN WE WENT THAT ALL OF THE ICE CREAM SHOULD HAVE MELTED IF IT WEREN'T FOR THAT FREEZER!

So we sat outside--yes sitting outside was WAY cooler than sitting inside, so Mr. Crepe, I now know why you sell ice cream!! Because it is the first thing I bet everyone spends $3 on the moment they step inside! And you know, the heat makes your free water very very warm as well....not quite the refreshing bit I was hoping for to pair with your actually very tasty crepes.

I got their turkey cranberry one and it was pretty delightful if I do say so myself and my friend Jenni made her own with all veggie stuff and she was extremely happy with it....my problem with my crepe was that there was hardly any brie in my crepe....i love cheese, like most people in the world, so when I order something with cheese, I expect it to be there! I don't know why but this place and The Burren up the street, both don't seem to understand the concept of actually putting cheese on things you order ha ha.

BUT it was made fresh, fast service, they have free wifi here and outlets which is a great bonus, and of course coffee to keep you going, but if you are going to stay here a while, I would get that coffee iced so you don't melt away!!

I went to Mr. Crepe with a friend who's initial reaction was anger. Angry that I've known about it for so long and hadn't mentioned it to her.
We split a couple of sweet crepes, and passed on the savory ones this time.  We'll save them for later, and there will definitely be a later.  The crepes are a decent size, and are filled pretty generously.  The crepe itself was a little thicker than I'm used to, but I guess its better that way considering the amount of stuff they pack in.
I also like the self-seating and self-table-bussing, as it keeps the experience informal and laid back as it should be.

The dessert crepes here are quite delicious. I got the strawberry and nutella crepe the last time I went, definitely a good choice.

However, I am only giving this place three stars because I am very upset with the smoothies. I figured that a place that has a large amount of fresh fruits for crepes would also use those same fresh fruits for the smoothies. Under that assumption, I ordered a strawberry and banana smoothie....but I was terribly wrong. I watched the girl take the pre-mixed smoothie box out of the fridge, put in a blender with ice, and there was my smoothie. Are you kidding me? In a place that clearly has fresh fruits, I got the same exact smoothie that I get at the train station and of course it was more expensive too.

So Mr. Crepe, if you are reading this, please start using fresh fruit to make your smoothies. I would pay the extra money for a real smoothie rather than feeling I got ripped off getting smoothie-in-a-box. It was like going into an Italian restaurant and ordering the house wine, only to watch them pour you a glass from a Franzia box.

I think somehow Mr. Crepe confused Crepes with thinn crunchy really big pancakes. I've never had anything like it. It wasn't bad really, it just wasn't a fucking crepe. I feel like calling what they served a crepe is a public disservice in the same vain as teaching abstinence only sex ed. While it may be technically accurate, it's a damn shame.

The coffee was fine and served in steins, and the atmosphere was fine if a little Ikea cafeteria-ish. Overall I can't say I'd go again or recommend it to anyone I regard as a friend.

I thought it was pretty good.  I think the "Super" crepes were like $9+ which seemed a little high but no complaints about the food.  The crepe looked like a pancake, tasted like a pancake -- it was just a thin pancake, not very crepe-like, but I can see why they might use something sturdier given the size of the item.  You seat yourself so if you find it busy when you get there you might have to take it to go or come back later.

I love crepes. At home, if you can make crepes you can surreptitiously stuff them with old leftovers and cheese and pass them off as haute cuisine.  You can fill them with fresh fruit and heavy whipped cream and use them to curry (sexual) favor with attractive guests.  You can probably use them as clothing, frisbees, or even artwork on  your walls.
But one thing I never thought I'd see is someone charging ten dollars for one!  I've been to other crepe places and some of the fancier, more expensive ones (usually packed with Nutella and bananas or truffles or whatever) run up around there, but Mr Crepe, you're really raking it in here.
To be fair, the mushroom and brie filled triangle you served was delicious, with fresh ingredients and a good balance of soggy and crispy in the pancake.  But I don't think it was a ten dollar crepe.

**THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT THE CREPES**

We stopped in Mr Crepe for some beverages and a small snack. This is one of the worst places for customer service. The two girls working behind the cash register were anything but nice. I ordered a latte and requested skim milk and was reciprocated with a nasty look. They then were both complaining about something and the girl just threw my change back into my hand. I asked about the cookies and the one girl made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. At that point, I was done with the place. And the cookies were hard like rocks.

I will say the crepes looked great and I wish we would have ordered one.

I've had great experiences at Mr. Crepe and am headed back today!

I love their "super spinach" crepe and several of the other savory varieties, which are enormous and quite rich.  I also absolutely love the strawberry and belgian cholocate crepe.  If I have a gripe it's that the portions and prices don't make it feasible to get both a savory and a sweet!  I never want to choose!  So, I usually get a savory and then periodically pop in with my little girl  to share a strawberry/chocolate as a special treat.

Pros: great menu, excellent food, good people watching locale
Cons: A little pricey and atmosphere is meh - it's not awful, but it's needs something.

"What would you write about the crepe we just had at this place, roommate?"
"Good."
"You can't just say 'good' on Yelp. Generally, you have to be more descriptive about the experience."
"It tasted good in my mouth?"
"Alright then."

So, as my roommate said, the strawberry/Belgian dark chocolate crepe with whipped cream we just consumed at this establishment tasted good in her mouth. (That's what she said. Literally.)

Honestly, though, the prices are a bit much for what a crepe is, otherwise it might have won itself four stars.

I will go again to see what their coffee tastes like, however. I am curious.

I do admit my suspicion when this place opened up (years ago already?). But it's proved itself. They have quite the selection of crepes, and they even allow you to design your own or do substitutions or additions (at an extra cost, of course). They also have a great selection of drinks made right there! The crepes are a little bit of a wait, but hey, it's because they're MADE TO ORDER! That makes them fresh and delicious, and it adds an extra level of fun. You can watch the guys making them right there in front of you. It can easily turn into $20 for crepes and drinks for 2 people, so it's more of a small meal than a snack. And these crepes are certainly large and filling. Now the only problem is choosing which one to get!

This is one of those places that I wish was better than it is, but it just isn't.  If you want a good, but expensive crepe you should go.  I go often, but if a competing crepe place opened next door I would have no loyalty to Mr. Crepe.

Pros:
The crepes are good.  Super avocado and chocolate/pb/marshmallow are my favorite.  The yukon gold potato soup is quite excellent.  The crepe making guys are really nice for the few seconds you actually interact with them.  They have a great selection of loose leaf teas.

Cons:
Everything is over-priced. Their non-coffee specialty drinks are just ok (Chai Latte,  hot cider, and hot chocolate anyway).  The cashiers are all consistently bad.  They don't know the menu, they get stuff wrong, they pay more attention to each other than the customer, and they act like you are stupid when you ask questions.

One of my favorite places in Boston. I stop in there three or four times a week for breakfast after the gym (it's right across from the Davis BSC) and I love the atmosphere. It's a great place to just chill, read and relax before you start your day.

It's called Mr. Crepe's for a reason, and their creations are very good. I'm not ultra-adventurous when it comes to those golden-brown triangles of awesomeness, but the plain-and-simple ones I've had (bacon, egg and cheese or chocolate filled, when I'm in need of a sugar rush) have been excellent. Actually, I should expand my horizons; I think I'm shaming my fine French ancestors with my safe choices.

Anyways, pair those crepes up with a big-ass glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice (a bit on the pricey side, but worth it) and you've got a meal fit for that stuck-up bitch Marie Antoinette herself. Oh, and in case the crepes are a bit much for one morning, get a bagel--freshly made and very good. That's my usual choice. Good muffins, too.

Stop in. It's a good vibe with some great food.

Dropped into Mr. Crepe last night for dessert after seeing a film at the Somerville Theater next door.  It was moderately busy at 9:00, yet there was still a wait to order and a longer wait to get our order.  I had a basic Nutella crepe with bananas.  I was introduced to these in France (of course), and I've tried them several places around the states as well.  Since the filling is the same everywhere, I can really only compare the crepe itself.  At the time I was eating it, I remember thinking that it was really crispy and dry.  I prefer a softer crepe.  Now thinking about it the day after, I would probably not go back to Mr. Crepe; not even to try the ice cream since JP Licks is right across the street.

On a side note, I hate when places make you get a key from the counter to use the restroom.  Their key was attached to a big wooden block; the block was wet and the key was sticky - GROSS!  When not in use, the key sits on the counter where they serve food.  I am not a germaphobe, but this seems borderline unsanitary.

Location...good.  Menu options...good.  Prices...good.

While my date was not a fan of the place, I enjoyed it.  I love crepes and was accustomed to them as a staple in my diet growing up - so I like variety in the fixings.

I admit that the place has a bit of an odd set up - the fact that they randomly assign numbers to orders (and then do not really call them out), you have to bus your tables yourself, and the bathroom requires a key (sort of a pet peeve of mine) - but that does not take away from the food, at least for me.

Mr. Crepe is a far better option for a light snack (pastry based of course) than Au Bon Pain in Davis Square.  The variety on the menu can keep you out of a food routine while still sort of knowing what to expect, I am a big fan of that!

It is worth a try if you want some lighter fair.

To start off: I enjoyed my strawberry Belgian chocolate crepe (although why a restaurant wouldn't be using local strawberries on June 30th is beyond me...). The crepe was more like a street crepe you'd get in Europe than a more delicate restaurant crepe that I'm always hoping to find. My date seemed to like his strawberry lemon crepe. I liked the Belgian chocolate a lot. Especially when it got harder as it cooled down. A lot a lot.

The atmosphere is a little awkward in this place. I didn't experience any of the counter nastiness that some people are talking about, but I've never really felt like the furniture goes with the flavor, so to speak. Plus, its super awkward on a first date when they call out the number, I go to get the food, the counter woman is bringing us the food, but doesn't bring us utensils and oh man I kind of feel awkward thinking about that whole exchange ugh. I go here because I've had good food each time (their brothy soup is a healthy easy way to warm up if you need to pass time in Davis, and the pistachio muffin was incredible), but its always a tad uncomfortable for some reason.

Seriously? People are complaining because a restaurant want you to get off your fucking cell phone and not sit there all day without ordering something? What a bunch of entitled prats.  And yes, they DO need to put up signs telling you this because people are inconsiderate fuckwits who don't do it without being told.  Ever tried to get a table at Diesel?  Ever been out to eat at all?  Come on.

As for the food, it's pretty decent. I like their crepe selection better than Arrow St, but not quite as good as CafeNation and Paris Creperie. but Paris is small and squishy and their menu is chaotic.  Mostly I don't go there more because I live across town and Davis Square is a pain in the ass.   If I lived closer I'd go more often.

I stopped in here for a cup of regular coffee and to relax for a bit with a book.

It was nearly empty here, though the crepe chefs (can I call them that?) were chatting up a storm. It was, to be honest, quite distracting.

The coffee was okay, though I find it quite disgusting to have to "flavor" you coffee while there's a tray of dirty dishes next to the creamer. Sure, they chill their milk, which is good, but the whole area just felt filthy. Hate to say it, but they could learn a thing or two from Starbucks.

Here, you'll bus your own tables. Not that I mind, but there's only one small gray tray for dirty dishes. When I arrived, it was piled high. Thankfully, by the time I left, they had emptied it. Though, by the time I left, the chefs were still chatting up a storm.

One word comes to mind: disappointed. I had been looking forward to checking this place out, but once I arrived, I could only bring myself to order some coffee. There was just something "gross" about being here.

The bathroom was even in an organized disarray. Clean, yes, but also dirty. If the atmosphere gives any hint at the food, I will definitely pass.

While I am a huge fan of crepes, I didn't get one last night as this was just a time killer after dinner but before the show. It was snowy out and seemed like the perfect night for hot chocolate, but it was not the perfect night for a leisurely walk, so rather than going to Diesel, we headed here.

Service was not so hot. I feel like the cashier was the type of person who didn't really want to be bothered with people. Basically, the type of person who shouldn't be in retail/customer service.

We get our hot chocolate and while they are slightly hot, they are not at all chocolaty. What's the sense in having hot chocolate if you don't really get any chocolate?

The crepes did smell good though, so I can see myself possibly coming back to try those, I will not be back for hot chocolate though. Next time in rain, snow, sleet etc I will make the trek somewhere else!

I can't believe I forgot to review this place... Has a nice crowd..yes the people that work there, SOME aren't the nicest..and they sometimes forget your friend is waiting for a drink, hence why we are crowding around the counter. Good thing he remembered after. I liked my choice of the dessert crepe, the strawberry with nutella, though i might just opt for just nutella or the belgian chocolate next time, the strawberries aren't as sweet. My friends got the one that had like everything, strawberries, ice cream..belgian chocolate, though the ice cream was melting rather fast..but still yummy. I want to return soon!

As a crepe cynic who coexisted in a crepe capital, I can comment on the crappy crepes I have had in the US.   Mr. Crepe creates crepes that satisfy my crepe cravings.

Filled with fresh, flavorful fillings, and fine for frugal fannies and freddies, this food is fantastic.

Dear Mr. Crepe,  Please add some butter.  The crepes are a little on the dry side.  Other than that, pas trop mal (for a crepe joint in Somerville, Massachusetts).

They do have a nice selection of fillings.  Everything from savory to sweet and back again.  I personally lean towards the green and savory... Arugula and avocado....  Spinach and brie... Mushrooms and swiss.

But my meat lover friend was quite happy here the other night with her atkins special (egg cheese and turkey).   My sweet tooth bf  would also do ok here if he wasn't such an "I lived in France for two years" phony.

Anyhow.  It's cheap.  It's healthy (or at least it can be if you want it to be).  It's made from scratch right in front of you and it's convenient.  Kind of a "fast-food-y" atmosphere - lots of hard surfaces and bright lights.  But they do have real silverware!  which is quite a luxury in a call-out-your-number establishment.

OK. More butter. More butter.  Until then - 3 stars.

Goodness gracious. Strawberry nutella belgian dark chocolate crepe... NOM!

Aside from making me fat and happy, they've also got Raos Coffee and a decent selection of herbal teas.

I love that they're right across the street from my gym. Really.

Lemme start with what I like:

The vegetables here are as fresh as they come.  The cheeses are flavorful and diverse enough to make each crepe interesting.  The fact that there is significantly more filling than crepe is a huge bonus - I like the crepe to be a vehicle for the delicious things inside the crepe - not the other way around.

However, I'll admit that I'm biased.  I remember the Someday Cafe fondly, slightly sketch though it was, and I never really feel comfy in the very ikea furnishings of the (in my mind still) new Mr. Crepe.  I have eaten here both at peak times and at slow times, and I never particularly want to stay much longer than I need to down my crepe and my coffee (at peak times, that's an impossibility, since someone is always gunning for your table). I have often had my food come out significantly before the rest of my party, or significantly after.  Crepes don't stay hot for terribly long, so it forces someone to be rude or eat a cold crepe.

I still, sadly, would rather make my own crepes than go out for them (I prefer mine a little chewier than these, anyhow).  Sorry!

I stopped in for coffee and something to tide my dad and I over until lunch the other day. I have observed the space and patrons for a while driving through Davis, but never felt the need to stop in.

They serve Rao's coffee, which is good coffee. I got two large iced coffees, and some crazy waffle pastry (which had signage in the store welcoming it's return) and a plain croissant. The lady who served me was really nice, not annoying at all (not fake nice) and made good small talk, a quality some people lack.

It was one of the few really nice warm spring days we've had so far and so the sun hits you directly in the eyes as you try to add sugar to your coffee at the condiment bar.... also, if you aren't a regular here, I guess... you wouldn't automatically think to look in the bev case for the milks.... That was mildly confusing.

All in all I was happy with the food I've had from here, it was not the best pastry that I've ever had, but it did the job, and the interaction was more pleasing than I would've had anywhere else in Davis, hands down.

I've been going to Mr. Crepe since they first operated out of a much smaller locale a little ways up Holland Street, next to where Dave's Pasta is (not sure what's there now).  That business was great, run by one guy who seemed to have a hard time getting and keeping quality help.  The place was a little small (5 tables, I believe), but that added to its charm.  As today, they always had only two soups: Moroccan Lentil and Yukon Gold.  Not sure why, in approx. eight years they've only ever made two soups, but there you go.

I was pretty bummed when they closed, but even much more intensely bummed when the Someday Cafe evaporated away.  So, yes, I was pretty conflicted when Mr. Crepe reappeared to animate the corpse of the much-bereaved Someday.

It's true that the atmosphere isn't as cosy as it was when it was in a different location, and it'll never be another Someday.  I don't think it's terrible though.  It's well-lit and the tables and chairs are easily moved around, which is a plus in a place like this that's going to attract parties of widely varying sizes (first dates, meetups, knitting groups, entire sororities, etc etc).  The only real "problem" I have with the plastic and laminate decor is that, with no fabrics, anywhere, all the babies and small children that this place usually draws in make a LOT of noise.  So that's one warning: if you don't like small children, especially those raised by the liberal-and-therefore-more-permissive-than-thou parents of uptown Davis Square, you won't be happy for very long at Mr. Crepe.

Lots of people here complain about the staffing, and I guess I have a little to say about that too, after having eaten here many dozens of times over the past three years.  There are maybe 3-4 staff out front that have been regular employees for most of the time Mr. Crepe has been open, and I've never had a problem with any of them.  There are a couple that seem like they're about high school age, and I think their shyness or adolescent insecurity makes them seem a little short, but if you get them talking, they're very friendly.  My point isn't to say that it's the customers job to make the service staff friendly, my point is just that I think the staff *wants* to be friendly, they're just maybe sometimes too young to know *how*.

That said, I can also definitely tell when the staff has had a long day.  Whether you hold this against someone is up to you.

Finally: over the years I've seen a few other waitstaff come and go, and there have definitely been some real shitheads among them, a couple I wanted to brain myself.  Fortunately these do appear to have been short-lived aberrations, which makes me think that someone out there actually is paying attention to the quality of service at Mr. Crepe.

And I'm going to have to back Joseph D. who said that the main attraction here is the Belgian Sugar Waffle, which I've only just recently discovered.  Oh Em Eff to tha Gee.  These are like the apotheosis of all things pastry and all things breakfasty and all things delicious, condensed into one perfect vanilla, hot sugary crusty chewy explosion of pure gastronomical orgasm.  The only thing I've ever had better are the beignets at Cafe Du Monde in NOLA.  Go get you some now.

Oh, the crepes?  Real good.  I especially like the avocado/arugula/tomato/jack cheese combo, as well as the apple/grapes/brie one.  Oh and the banana/almonds/nutella was a surprise for me, as I only sorta like each of those ingredients a little on their own, but found the three in one crepe to be worth writing home about.  I sometimes think the crepes could be a little less stiff and crisp at the edges, but maybe that's just me.  Yeah, I guess overall I'd like something slightly chewier about my crepes.

I'm also happy to report that they always have a pretty decent selection of Polar's flavored (and unsweetened yay!) seltzers, always my beverage of choice, never very easy to find.

Paying for wifi's a drag, and I don't back it anywhere.  If they fixed this, made their crepes just slightly better, got some more assertively friendly staff, put in a play room, OR did something to soften/warm the place up, if they did any one of these things, I think I could give this place 5 stars. As it is, looks like they're getting a high 3.5 or 3.6 from me, which I'm  rounding up here to 4.

I'd give this places 3 1/2 stars if I could.

I've had good experiences there and then some so-so experiences.  I really recommend the strawberry, kiwi and honey crepe.  And the yukon gold potato soup is really quite good with some french bread.

One of the things that is lacking is consistency in service and food.  Sometimes the crepes are a bit over cooked and sometimes the staff is either overwhelmed or not paying attention.  And last time I tried to use Wifi there, I got no signal using their SSID.  They were so busy it wasn't worth trying to talk to them to fix this.

They do serve Rao's coffee (from the Amherst MA area) - a plus in my book!

The crepes are great, if a little expensive.  And yet, most times I've gone I've ended up feeling just a bit dissatisfied.  Maybe it's just that it tends to be slow, and the service tends to be lackluster.  Maybe it's just that I still miss the Someday, and this place will never be a worthy replacement.

I still go a fair bit, though, since it's crepes.

I never had a crepe before I came to Cambridge for college, but Paris Creperie in Coolidge Corner made me fall in love with them. When I moved to Somerville I was excited to see Mr. Crepe nearby.

It is *nowhere* near as good as Paris Creperie. First, the drinks just kind of meh. I need something delicious to drink with my crepe. That's a firm rule.

Crepes are okay.. and only okay. Not particularly flavorful. While I love the savory crepes at Paris, I would prefer to get sweet crepes here, just because they're harder to screw up, I guess.

Disappointing. I'll have to trek all to the way to Brookline to get the crepes I yearn for.

I love crepes. My pal and I decided to check this place out since we've walked by it a million times.

My favorite style of crepes are the thin french-style... which I doubted they made. And they didn't. But -- they were pretty awesome.
I got a breakfast crepe. It was delicious. The coffee I got was awesome as well.

The problem I had with the place is that the service and organization was kind of chaotic. They were out of silverware when we were there.
Which, well, whatever. I ended up eating the crepe with my hands.

The people working there aren't very friendly or welcoming. But I guess I'm used to that.

And It took a minute to find out what to do with our dishes.. there are signs that say "BUS YOUR OWN TABLE" and then realized we had to get through a line of people and leave 'em near the door somewhere.

The food was excellent, though. And I look forward to trying the place out again... just not on a weekend morning.

The first thing I notice about Mr. Crepe is that none of the people who work at the register look like they ever EAT the crepes. Or anything, for that matter. I mean, do what you want with your body, but hungry people are not happy people. For some reason, I always feel judged when I come here.

WHAT?! If you're gonna sell crepes, I'm gonna eat em.

There's just this air of snootiness that I really dislike about being here. That's why I always come with at least two other friends and even more sass/obnoxiousness than usual...it's the only way I can feel comfortable in places like that. It's easier for me to blatantly reject gentrification than to try and fit in with the hipster establishments.

That said, the crepes are just mediocre. I like to make my own crepes and do a damn good job...I like them hot, fresh off the pan, and the insides all gooey and melting. What I usually get here is a stale, lukewarm crepe with some stuff slapped on it and rolled up.

When I heard that this replaced a really cool coffee shop, I decided that was the third strike, and I don't think I'll go here again. Unless I'm in a group and someone really, really wants to go.
