I bought a pair of shoes here, went on Amazon and found the same pair for $38 less (online sale), bought those and returned the ones I got from Moxie. Problem was, I didn't realize that it's store credit only. I used the store credit to get a pair of Pumas, which I kind of wanted anyway but didn't need. So I ended up spending more money overall. Boo. I'm still giving this place 4 stars though because I really like their shoes.
This place is expensive, but they have great sales and probably the best selection of unique shoes in Boston! I got a beautiful pair of casual Taryn Rose heels for under $100 during their spring sale, and can't wait to go back next year when they ... have their next big sale.
I want to sink my teeth into all of their shoes! I mean, I wouldn't do that, but sometimes when I see a beautiful, brand new, buttery leather heel, I, at a minimum, want to rub it against my cheek, possibly want to bite it. Let's not read too much into that.
Anyway, the service is nice but nothing impressive... I'm starting to think this might be the Charles Street standard. The prices are normal for the brands that they carry. The selection is lovely, I want 1 of everything in the store.
P.S. I wear a 7.5

I bought a pair of shoes at Moxie on Charles Street in Boston. After wearing the shoes, I realized that the webbing design along the toe of the shoe was painful and blistering my toes. I contacted the store about the issue and was told that, although the owner would return a call to me, the store would not be able to do anything about shoes "just because they do not fit." Anyway, needless to say the call from the owner was never returned to me. The shoes were just so uncomfortable that I could not get away with wearing them, even for a short period of time. Unfortunately, the credit card company still expected to get paid - so I was out $85.00. I will not shop in Moxie again.
*Ok so I have to eat only cat food for the next month because for the first time in my life, I bought a GORGEOUS pair of red high heel shoes that cost more than my rent - I cannot believe I did this - but I absolutely love them and feel so totally gorgeous that I figure it is cheaper than therapy.
*Good selection - super expensive... Great sales staff too

Really cute shoes! I was excited to see they have all of this season's Tory Burch flats, along with others from Siegerson Morrison, Michael Kors, Delman, Moschino and many others!
The girls working were sort of helpful but lacking more than anything-I work in a boutique and I guess I have pretty high customer service standards.
There are shoes for women of all ages here and lots totes, purses, hair accessories and jewelry.

I adore this store. I can only rarely afford things here, but I will still go in about once a week to look around, touch the pretty bags and calculate how many weeks i would have to eat ramen in order to buy a pair of shoes. I am secretly mad at them for introducing me to Sigerson Morrison because the shoes are so comfortable, so pretty, and so out of my price range. When things go on sale they are frequently much more reasonable, but, like all shoe stores, as I have monstrously big feet it's rare they still have any left in my size.
That being said, the stuff they stock here is beautiful. The bags are all intricate and well-made without being gaudy or overly trendy, and the shoes are of-the-moment but are brands your mother would approve of (Micheal Kors, Kate Spade, Taryn Rose, Delman....). They have fun little accessories and Spanx too.
Part of the reason I stop in here so often is the awesome sales staff. They're always talkative and helpful without being pushy or overbearing. It's like going shopping with a friend who happens to know the entire inventory. And they put up with me not buying anything most of the time I visit. LOVE this store.

Bags, bags, bags....I love bags. First off Charles Street where Moxie is located is a full of wonderful little cafes and antique shops, must go walk down this street if you visit Boston, or live there. Moxie has a bunch of different handbag designers, everything from lap top carry case bags to tiny wallets to hold just your night out essentials.
This store has improved so much at its new location. The bags are beautiful- lots of colors and metallics- from well known and less well known designers. Shoes are the same- big selection but my favorites are the flats and espadrilles. The jewelry is pretty too- local designers like kimmeron. GREAT FOR: flip flops, flats, espadrilles, bags, ...you get the idea. its good.
Moxie has a varied selection of cool designer shoes. The store tends to carry styles that big department stores do not. However, it's expensive - even sale prices can clean out your wallet.
a great place to shop for the season's trendiest if you have a big pocketbook.
