Let me just first say that Teresa has been cutting, coloring, and styling my hair for over 10 years. I have followed her from the East Bay to various salons in the city. I love what she does to my hair. She is a master at color and always spot on. Her cuts are on the cutting edge of the latest fashion. She is a delight to talk to. I continue to go to her because of her high level of expertise. She has cut my boyfriends hair and does an amazing job on men's hair as well as women's hair. She does the feather hair extensions and is very skilled at them. I am such a fan and I know that anyone that gives her a shot will not be disappointed.

As a man, and like most people, I like a hair style that looks good and is easy to take care of, Andriana does a fantastic job every time.
I've been to several other salons in the area and have found Moxi to meet all my needs; the salon is beautiful, the products are green, the prices are great and I never have to wait.
I have been coming here for over a year, and I have no plans to change. -

I had a bloomspot voucher for services at Moxi and after reading raving reviews about their hair services thought I'd get a hair cut with them.
Elizabeth was my stylist and she was AWESOME!
She just had a very calm warm personality and made me instantly at ease.
I love my hair cut - I always had issues with people cutting my fringe the wrong way but she cut it beautifully. I wanted a side sweeping fringe and while it looks good, I think she cut it so well I think I may not mind having it trimmed slightly to make it into a front bang (I had a traumatic experience with a bad front bang when I was young so vowed never ever to get them again but I think I can with the cut Elizabet gave me) .
At $100+ for a haircut it's not a place for everyone (and without my voucher I'm not sure I would have tried Moxi).
If you are willing to give them a try though, you won't be disappointed!
p.s. Elizabeth even called me a few days later to see if all was good - what an excellent service! -

Beautiful, clean, well-kept salon. When I walked in I was quickly greeted by a friendly staff member. When I told them i was looking for hanz de fuko products (so hard to find anywhere-but they have it!) they called another staff member over to help me select the right product. Very pleasant experience and transaction :)

I have boatloads of fine curly hair and apparently it's rocket science to cut...have had at least 3 hair cuts in the last 15 years that made me cry and cut it all off (seriously, and at high end salons).
But all that is in the past!
Andriana really listens to your concerns, assesses your hair, and is honest about what can and cannot be done with what you have. She's super patient with chickens (like myself) and on subsequent visits checks in to see what you liked and didn't.
She's seriously fantastic and I'm never letting anyone else cut my hair ever again! -

I'm hugely picky about my hair. It is my one real girly trapping. This has led me to have difficulty in finding a good stylist to meet my needs. I normally get my hair cut twice a year when I'm home in Ohio for vacation by a stylist that I've been going to since I was fifteen - maintenance cuts which allow my hair to grow out... but, lately it's not been enough for me. I decided to investigate finding someone to commit to a long-term hair plan with in San Francisco... scary.
Moxi came highly recommended to me by a friend with gorgeous hair. So this week I made an appointment.
I have to say that Moxi is the cutest little salon - all red, black and poshy. It is on Union Street, so it's convenient to get to. The ambiance of the salon is wonderful - it's an Aveda salon, so it smells all happy and yummy.
So, my first impressions were awesome.
This was followed up with impressive styling and communication with Rebecca (my new hero) who assessed my hair and listened to what I wanted to do (long-term) with the style, color, etc. She then massaged my scalp (!!), gave me a glass of wine (!!!) and then proceeded to cut and style my hair to perfection (!!!!).
I'm so impressed - I am the pickiest of picky hair care customers & she didn't bat an eye. Not to mention she did exactly - to the hair - what I wanted... yay!
Plus she recommended a slew of yummy Aveda products to better optimize my new 'do... and, when the damage was totaled up (not that I mind paying for quality haircare) it was REALLY reasonable. (As in, it did not make me faint or question how much I *really* liked the haircut.)
I love it - LOVE it!
I was so happy that I have booked out two appointments moving forward... that's true love from me.
Moxi rocks! Rebecca rocks even more! -

I called Moxi in advance of booking my appointment to ask the price. I was told that highlights were $135 and up. I was given their newest stylist when I arrived, which was fine.
When I went up to the counter to pay they charged me $250!! When I asked to explain, they added all kinds of miscellaneous charges ($35 for blow drying my hair!!). I think that kind of scam is BAD BUSINESS. I think they suck and would never, ever, ever go back to them or recommend that you do. -

I finally got a haircut. My hair was started to get "porn star" long and raggedy.
I walked up the stairs to the beautiful and airy salon and was greeted by a sweet girl who gave me a tour of the studio which is BEAUTIFUL and is a green business. They also showcase local artists' works (1 artist at a time, changing every couple of months) and great Aveda and Davines products, both of which are green and cruelty free.
As I waited for my haircut, I had a great cup of coffee. I could have had wine or beer but I had to go back to work and my tolerance is very low.
Adrianna cut my hair after washing it out with some lovely aromatic shampoos and she did a great job. I love my haircut. I had a great experience here and I am going back.
I have already made my appointment for the next haircut with her. -

Andriana has done my hair once before and I have been absolutely happy. I have received many compliments on my hair since seeing her. My first visit was a bit pricey (to be expected for the first visit I suppose) I had an all over color, partial highlights, cut, and blow dry out done.
However, I was a bit disappointed on my second visit. I only had a touch up on my roots for color and touch up on my lights and the bill was still over $250.00, and that was including a $15.00 gift certificate that I received for referring a friend. I made a comment to the effect of, "wow, that turned out to be really expensive". Andriana smiled and said she gave me a bit of a discount on the highlights. I politely said thank you, but in my head I'm thinking, where was the discount?
I was surprised at how much the bill was, being that I didn't even have a full blow out done? She only dried my hair out a little bit, so that I wouldn't have to go home with dog dripping hair. I didn't need a glamorous style since I was just going to go home anyway, just not wet. The other thing that I didn't like is when I received my bill, it's just gives me one grand total. Why isn't it itemized so that I know what I am being charged? I know they have them because before I left the salon, I saw the receptionist print one out and attach it to some paperwork.
I rated Moxi's 4 stars based on that receipt issue alone, otherwise Andriana deserves 5 stars based on her sense of vision for hair color and technique for cuts. She is an awesome hairdresser! I will update you with the results on my next visit! If I get my itemized receipt and I am happy with the overall experience, I will change their rating to 5 stars. However, because of their inconsistency of prices.......I will have to find a new hairdresser, my visits here be far and few.
UPDATE: 10/10/2007
Just had my hair done by Andriana.....and I somewhat got what I asked for. Even though, I left the salon content, I cant honestly say that the price I paid was really worth the trim and color I received. The plus side of this visit.......I was asked if I wanted a receipt this time.
By no means am I frugal when it comes to beautifying myself, but come on. Yes, I know it's SF, but I also know there are several other hair salons in SF that can do the same job for half the price. You(Moxi)might say why don't you go there then...............?
My answer: I WILL!
Andriana is friendly and a good colorist, but I cannot say the same about her rude, pretentious & conceited counterpart Rebecca. Andriana, you should talk to her about giving your clients a dirty, snobby, up and down look . FYI: It turns off clients...I have heard this by several other customers as well. You should check the other reviews about her....they are not very positive! -

I did not realize that a salon could be this good.
Andriana is wonderful. I absolutely love my color. I don't even understand how she made my hair look so good when I left the lovely salon. The head massage was a treat!
All told, it was a pleasant, relaxing experience with far better than average results. I'm looking forward to going back. -

I've had a lot of haircuts, and from LA to London to San Francisco, Moxi is the first salon where I felt that the employees and my stylist really cared about my hair AND me.
In addition to the gorgeous attention to detail Andrianna put into the decor, you feel relaxed and in good hands from the second you walk in the door.
I'd been scheduled with Rebecca, and she's a total dream. She gave me one stunner of a haircut/highlight job, and when I hit the town that night, all of my friends told me my hair was glowing. She takes the time to get to know you, as well as what you've done to your hair in the past. She also thinks long term and for the viability of your color/style for the next few months, not just to the point when you walk out the door.
Can't wait to go back, and I'll see you ladies soon.Listed in: Money Fame Sex Glamour

I never actually looked forward to having my hair cut before I started going to Moxi. The atmosphere is down to earth and relaxed, and the staff make it feel like I'm visiting friends every time I come.
Going to a salon can sometimes be a bit more than I'm looking for, but I can't go to a barber because, for whatever reason, I come out looking 16 years old with a cheap haircut. I've bounced around to different salons in SF and usually feel a little out of place within the air of designer product and "I paid more than you for my hair to look this good" attitudes. It's not really my thing, but SuperCuts just doesn't cut it. Moxi provides more than any other salon I've been to without the attitude.
I found Moxi because I had moved offices and they are located just a few blocks away. But the deciding factor was that more than one dude had submitted a good Yelp review; there's plenty of salons with good reviews from girls, but not so many with reviews from guys.
I made an appointment for the same day and walked down to get my mop cleaned up. The stylist I was scheduled with is My Loan. At first I thought the place would be a little too "alternative" for me because the first thing that she did was sit me down and have me smell some aromatic oil. But after the shoulder massage, hot face wrap and a cold beer, I am a believer. Some of the other places I've been to tried to do the relaxation thing, but with a rushed and chaotic setting it always seemed out of place, it works at Moxi.
My Loan is good at cutting men's hair. She doesn't mind that I'm a bit particular, and actually prefers to take the time to get it right. Every time I go she remembers what we did prior and she tweaks things to make it exactly what I want; and when I don't know what I want she is happy to come up with something that works. Can't really ask for better than that. -

Andriana ROCKS MY WORLD! After years of getting free haircuts from my sister, it was so hard for me to jump back in and fork over the dough for a high end hair cut, but I must admit, I trust Andriana with my life. She does an amazing job and it is such a pleasure to walk into the studio and be greeted by their welcoming and friendly staff (Maurene).
I also got a facial recently there! I can't remember the name of the person who did it, but she was wonderful...

Review from Jess R.
Once in 4th grade, my mom took me for a haircut where they feathered my bangs. I took one look in the mirror, wept, and have never gone for a professional haircut since.
So when I decided last month to pay a lot of money to let someone else take complete creative control over my hair, well... this was no small thing!
I called Moxi, I had a question about something on their website. The girl who answered the phone was incredibly sweet and friendly. I instantly felt comfortable and was already ready to throw my money at them! She told me I could come by for a free consultation, and if I wanted after, I could have my haircut. If not, no worries. I had called I believe on a Monday, and was able to get an appointment that upcoming Friday.
I walked in, hair looking a mess. I was greeted by the girl at the front (sorry i forgot everyones names!) who gave me a tour of the salon... She got me a green tea, and I sat down with My Loan. I showed her some pics on my iPhone of what I had in mind, and she listened to what I wanted as well as offered her professional advice... Which is good, because I have no idea what I'm doing!
I felt completely at ease with her, and I went for it... I've been straightening my hair for 5 years and told her I'm ready to embrace my stupid curls...
Long story short, I love what she did!! It's different than what I usually do, it's REALLY easy to do in a rush, and she has completely restored my faith in getting my hair cut... She had used some Davines product which smells awesome and works great!
I've been getting lots of compliments on it too, so always a plus!
Best part is, I never felt like a moron for not knowing about anything hair related... I mean, I was a tomboy, I don't know what a diffuser is!! I felt totally comfortable asking the dumb questions with the staff.
I look forward to returning here in the future... Everyone on staff is amazing, the salon is pretty hip, and I like that they feature different artists work on the walls. Thanks, Moxi! :) -

This is review is long over due! My office mate had been raving about Andriana and Moxi for months, but I was hesitant to try a new place/shell out $100 for a haircut. However, I took it as fate when BloomSpot offered a discount on services, bought the certificate and made an appointment.
I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely taken care of. I helped myself to a miniature gourmet chocolate as I slipped into a smock in the cute changing room, then was given a tour of the salon by the receptionist and offered tea, water, or wine. Since it was Friday and around happy hour time, I opted for a glass of white to ease into my weekend. Andriana, the owner, introduced herself and was very warm and chatty as I explained what I wanted with my hair - just a trim with some serious clean up work around my sideswept bangs which had turned themselves into lopsided layers.
The service itself started with a heavenly oil massage on my dry hair, then I went into the back to relaxing dimmed sink area for a shampoo and condition. Then Andriana got to work on cleaning up my shaggy hair. I had had a bad hair cut back in December from another salon and thus waited almost 5 months to grow it out. Still Adriana didn't make me feel bad for having split ends, and complemented me on my color. We had plenty to chat about and the appointment flew by.
After the cut, she blew my hair out to perfection and I was ready for my Friday night. The best part is she didn't go too short anywhere - she listened to exactly what I asked for. The best best part is at has been over two months, and my cut has held up perfectly. Ever since my trip to Moxi my styling time has been seriously reduced each morning, and I don't feel the need to rush back in for a clean up appointment.
Five stars for ambience, five stars for service, five stars for the results. Prices are steep, but hey its San Francisco. Moxi is worth it. -

As a guy, I feel mildly sheepish about writing a review of my hair salon (that's right, "salon" - not "barber shop"). But I have to give props where props are due.
I have longish, curly hair. Some might refer to it as a fro. And I have had hair stylists refuse to cut it the way I want it cut. No joke, I have literally heard the words, "I am an artist and I don't want people to ask you where you got your hair cut." For that reason, I dread visiting new salons. While my view is if I'm going to shell out 60 bucks, I had better darn well get what I asked for, the people with the scissors have often disagreed, and I've been met with a few disasters. I now have the same sort of suspicion for stylists that many people have for the dentist...
But not at Moxi. Rebecca has curly hair and she understands what she's doing. She also asks me what I want to make sure the cut exactly what I am looking for. The service is friendly, the prices aren't too steep (especially considering you're on Union St. in the Marina) and you may even get a head massage out of the deal. Two thumbs up, way up! -

Super cute hair salon! This was my first time going to Moxi so the girl at the front desk showed me around, told me about the art on the walls, and was very friendly and helpful. I was only here to get my bangs cut, but my hair stylist was fast and cut my bangs exactly like I showed her from an old picture of myself.
I have never gotten my haircut here, but I hear that you need to call a few weeks in advance. Since I was only cutting my bangs, they were able to get me in right away. -

I have for most of my life not been loyal to any hair dresser, mostly because I couldn't be bothered to book an appointment in advance. And so this led me to a life of striking out when a hair cut was required and sitting in the chair at the shop able to accomodate my 'walk-in' status right then and there.
That's how I met Andriana. I had just arrived from London, needed a hair cut and ended up in Moxi's chair having been turned away by three other shops.
My wandering is over. I religiously book my appointments in advance, look forward to the pampering and relaxation and am thrilled by what Andriana does to my hair.
Andriana and her team at Moxi are brilliant and, if you want to be well pampered and receive a wonderful cut, look no further!
Well done, Andriana! -

Andriana is a star! She made me and all of my bridesmaids look like we'd walked out of a magazine for my wedding day and I couldn't have been happier!
With the help of a few idea photos and vague descriptions from each of us, she completely turned us around. She knew exactly what we wanted and is a genius with hair. The salon is in a fantastic location, has a chilled vibe with great art....and plays fantastic music to boot.
Thank you Andriana! -

Finally a new business owner who has their customer's in mind!
Fancy and posh setting with a spa like experience without the hipster
attitude- but funky and trendy.
It was a breath of fresh air when I called on the phone to make my long needed hair appointment ( I have not been able to find the right one since I moved from Brooklyn!) I asked a lot of questions the receptionist was very informative and willing to answer- I then felt confident to try the salon.
When I arrived I had a warm welcoming. I told my needs to my stylist Adrianna, and she achieved them above and beyond. This was the best haircut/color I had in a REALLY long time. My hair feels so healthy!
The service was exceptional: I was offered a drink and of course chose water since I ran to my appointment, but it wasn't just any old water- it had cucumbers and oranges in it. After my hair consultation Adrianna's assistant Amber gave me a neck and shoulder massage. WOW!
After my color was applied- I was given this excellent hair conditioning treatment. What a difference! And then followed by yet another head and scalp massage.
When my hair color was drying I was given a hot neck pillow to relax.
Adrianna is easy to talk to you and her Salon is adorable which was constructed with all environmentally friendly products.
I will be back to try the salon again. LOVED IT! Thanks Moxi Salon! -

I also usually have a hard time staying loyal to any salon, because sometimes I feel that there is something better out there. And I like to go to places where they have an appreciation for art, because I find that the stylists will often times be more playful and fun, which is really important to me. If I wanted something really boring I'd go to the barber shop down the street. Who would then ruin my hair, which I think is difficult to work with for those who are less skilled due to the double cowlick.. it's easy to end up looking like Alfalfa, for those who are old enough to remember :P
So I stumble into Moxi on a same-day appointment and was introduced to My Loan, who really did something different and fun for me. She's a perfectionist, and really had a vision for what she wanted to do - she planned something out the first time I went to the salon, and then I came back after my hair grew out and she kept true to her plan.. But don't worry, if you're into more of the office look, she'll also hook you up. The shoulder, neck, and scalp massage also help keep you relaxed. You also change out of your shirt and into a smock before the haircut. You even get offered some booze! It's a great experience, and very reasonably priced for the level of service you get. -

Just wanted to note that I got a call from the owner asking if there was anything she could do to make me happier with my experience. Given the number of hair salons in this area, I'm not going to go back here but I appreciate her efforts. I will say the other clients I saw seemed happy with the services they were getting. Maybe I was just unlucky.
Anyway, giving one more star for the effort.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I never believed that my hair would go "From drab to fab" until I met Myloan Nguyen!
She showed me what real hair does! What an artist, really! Her color skills are impeccable and her reccommended "recovery program" worked magic :o) Before I met Myloan, my hair was stiff, dry and dull. Now it's shiny and healthy!
Her skills go beyond cutting and coloring, she has other specialties as well. I can't wait to try her extensions. I hear they are miraculous! In addition to being a great artist, she is more dependable than any stylist I have had! -

I want to give this place 10 stars. So I was having issues with my hair - it was just long and BLAH. Best decision was to go to Moxi! I met with Rebecca and told her what was going on in my life and she gave me a cut that brightened up my cloudy day. I felt absolutely at ease with every snip. It was the first time I loved my haircut the day I got it. Moxi also stocks a variety of Aveda and yummy smelling Davines products that really make your hair as fabulous as a hair commercial.

So what do you do when someone wanders into your office during lunch one day offering a great deal at this posh, new salon that includes 4 different visits for under $60? The visits include: a 30 min neck and shoulder massage/parafin hand dip, coloring/gloss, hair cut and sea salt scrub. Most importantly, there are only 6 of these packages left, and you work with at least 10 other girls that all seem pretty interested. It was an easy decision for me and out came my credit card!
I learned right away that appointments are easy to make, the receptionist is really friendly and they always give reminder calls before your appointments. nice!
So visit #1: massage. My first impression was that this place was really cute, trendy, clean and has cool art on their walls that rotates every couple of months. I was given a tour because it was my first time, the place is small so it didn't take long. There are some spa rooms in the back, and I could tell that the receptionist seemed so pleased with her salon that she would say silly things like "we have a lot of magazines (they did), we update them pretty regularly, we even have some from next month already!" Am I supposed to be impressed by this? All you have to do is subscribe! anyway, moving on.
They offered me a whole bunch of different drinks and I got a coffee which was really good. I got a massage while sitting in one of the chairs where people were getting their haircuts. i'd rather have been in a private room on a massage table (and I saw a couple of those on my "tour") but oh well. My massage started out pretty weak, and before I could politely ask this woman if she could just press a little harder, it was done. What happened to the half hour massage that I paid for? Did the half hour include the tour or something?
So visit #2: haircut, which was done by the owner Andriana. She was full of energy, gave me an awesome scalp massage, washed my hair, styled it beautifully and best of all, did a great job cutting my hair. no complaints!
Visit #3: combo of the sea salt scrub and an eyebrow wax (I asked for some substitutions because I don't color my hair). The sea salt scrub was relaxing but didn't really hit the spot. It was kind of short and I spent most of the time listening to the lady list all the ingredients in the scrub that she was applying to my back. When it was done, I didn't feel any different than when I started. not. really. worth. it.
My eyebrow wax was great, no complaints!
In the end, I realized that I wouldn't have walked into that salon on my own without this special package. I'm a pretty low-maintenance kind of girl and I only like to shell out the cash when I think something is really worth it. The regular price for a haircut here is between $65-$110. The woman who usually cuts my hair (Danae, check out her reviews!) charges half that price and her cut is just as good as the one I got from this salon, if not better. The eyebrow wax is usually $30 (and is NOT "ouchless" as the website advertises, by the way). I usually go to a small nail salon for my eyebrows and they only charge $10 for the same quality service.
Overall, I don't dislike this place, but I'm not planning on going back. The staff is very friendly and I was very impressed with my haircut. However I'd rather not pay an arm and a leg for "extras" such as cool magazines or a tour of the place when I know I can get the same services elsewhere that are just as good. -

My experience at Moxi was great, though I heard I missed out on the scalp massage during the actual cut. Oh well, Rebecca made up for it by giving me a great hair cut and color! Drinking a Heineken while the color was drying was certainly unique and watching the people on Union St. pass by was kind of fun. All in all, it was an expensive treat, but worth the price. I definitely plan to go back.

Ahh yes, how easy to succumb to the highlighting addiction. It starts out so innocently...a golden touch here, a hint of sun there. Then somehow we all end up the same way, strung out in some back alley on foil and peroxide. Then there is Moxi, the color rehab I have been searching for. May took care of me with TLC. I had green tea and plenty of good mags to read. I was in, out, and beautiful in less than three hours. Albeit, the tab was a bit pricey, but worth it.

Lets be honest, this is San Francisco...You have so many choices and decisions to make when it comes to "your image," "your look," and most importantly...YOUR HAIR.
Moxi has a great ambiance, great staff that greets you (with a smile and an offer for a beverage) right when you walk in. Another thing I loved, right off the bat, was the fact they had a changing room (I'm from LA, and all of the high end salons have you wear smock's...since I came in my work suit...a SMOCK was exactly what I was hoping for) A more detailed look at the salon as a whole...they feature local artists, they have top of the line equipment, aaaaand...the best part of all (in my opinion) they have GREEN, ALL NATURAL PRODUCTS AND PRACTICES.
I had my hair cut by Wes. A fairly new addition to Moxi, as I understood it.
I have gone to the same Salon (Literally, that's what it's called) for the two years I have lived in the city.
I have wavy, curly hair and am very particular as to how it is cut.
SO....Wes, being new, I was a bit nervous. I began telling him what I wanted and how I normally style my hair, what products I used...blah blah yadda yadda.
He nodded, gave me feedback (which was very helpful in knowing I was using the wrong brand of bumble and bumble shampoo) After I explained my high maintenance grooming techniques, he seemed to understand and was off.
hmmm...my loyalty to Salon is shifting...and my confidence building up.
I don't know if this systemystem" is applied to women as it is to men...since most of the reviews on this salon are from women, I think it would do the public some good to know that MEN GO HERE TOO :)
First up...a massage, with this great smelling herbal oil; then its over to the "lounge" where my scalp was pleasured with a very tingling, soothing shampoo; then back to the chair.
Wes cut my hair, dry, with scissors. I have always heard dry cutting is better for the hair, you get a better look and its healthier...???
Any way, I was very pleased, I will definitely go back again, my hair looks great...I felt I was treated fair with professional comforting customer service. I GOT SOME GREAT PRODUCTS!!
The hair cuts are pricey...but for the experience (classy barber shop meets high end modern salon) its totally worth it. The products are reasonable (considering the high end names offered) -

Having just moved here from LA, I was overwhelmed by the number of salons around town. Thankfully, a friend recommended Moxi to me and I decided to give it a try. May was great! She cut my hair the way I wanted, but made it look 10 times better than I had expected! She's a sweetheart. The vibe is really cool...and I appreciate the beer/wine/waterwithcucumber touches. Plus, a few weeks later, she trimmed my bangs up for free. Thumbs up!

I went to Moxi last night for a haircut by Andriana. I walked in and the people were extrmely friendly and welcoming. They gave me a tour of the salon and explained the "story" behind Moxi. Usually when I get a haircut, it is a "wham bam thank you mam" with a slap on the butt and get out my door...
When you go to Moxi, you wonder why in the hell you ever went to any other salon. They begin with a massage with essential oils all over your neck and head for about 20 minutes, then they take you to the tranquil washroom, where there is a totally different vibe and auro than any other washroom you have ever been to! Here you hair is washed, lathered and your second massage begins for another 20 minutes! Next is the hair cut and wine! Andriana cut my hair, and I have never had a better cut in my life. She knows her hair. I am going back in a month for my color....
A very enjoyable experience all together. -

Went there on the recommendation of a friend and was so glad that I did. Everyone in the salon was warm and happy to see me. I am a really bad customer when it comes to getting my hair cut and they did a most awesome job. I typically don't got to high end salons but I will be going back to Moxi!! Thanks Team Moxi! You rock my face off!

Moxi is a breath of fresh vibes, art, and friendly service! i'm loving my hair color and that it is as organic as it could be and is vibrant in color. Elizabeth was very caring and authentic and listened to my hair desires and came through with excellent results. Very unique and lovely environment and welcoming to new clients.

So I just went to Moxi because I woke up and realized my hair was beyond a disaster...walked down Union, called red chair, they were full so I called Moxi. Rebecca cut my hair and did a great job. May gave an amazing scalp massage and a great shampoo...so I left loving my cut but had a little sticker shock. I payed 100$ for a hair cut, no color. Anyways I cant decide if I will go back cuz I like the cut but I am thinking I could have done it at Onex Rose for half the price...

Love this place! Rebecca is my gal and she does a great job at getting me to think about new looks that I would never try out otherwise. Being offered a glass of wine, some chocolate and a head massage as part of the whole experience is niiiiiiiice. I've never been disappointed here - Moxi rocks!

This is the best salon in San Francisco...seriously. Rebecca totally kicked it, and gave me the best cut and color I've had in years. It was EXACTLY what I wanted.
I've tried several salons in the city and they've all left me kind of cold. Either my cut sucked or I felt really uncomfortable because of the ginormous 'tudes of the employees. So much so, that I was actually dreading my appointment today. I was pleasantly surprised.
The second I walked through the door, winded and slightly icky from running to the salon after misjudging how long it would take me to get there, I was met with genuinely lovely people. The woman at the front desk didn't look me up and down when I came in, disheveled and breathless as I was. She just gave me a welcoming smile and asked me if I'd like something to drink. Water, tea, wine? Then she graciously showed me around, and left me to freshen up in the restroom. I walked back to the lobby to find a crisp glass of water waiting for me. The hint of cucumber in the water was a wonderful touch.
Rebecca then introduced herself to me and we walked to her chair. She listened to what I wanted, and gave suggestions on what she thought would look good. And she was totally right. The perfect combination of expertise and girl-friendliness. I felt prettier just having sat down in front of her mirror.
It was never awkward or forced. Very relaxing. I ended up with some great product to go along with my beautiful new hair. Moxi is MY salon and I highly recommend that you make it yours. I can't wait to try the spa out.
Oh, and I love the hair dryers suspended from the ceiling! Yeah Moxi! -

Only one hair stylist in this salon. Appointments need to be booked at least 3 weeks in advance. Was there for a thermal treatment, informed stylist of the time I need to be out of the salon...sat there while she was talking to another client, forgot about my time, and I had to go remind her that I HAVE to go. Poor service. Not accomodating for late appointments. Would NOT recommend this place, had much better service from higher-end salons.
