I am writing this review because I promised Mr. donald I would do so if he kept his word and got me picked up by Sunday. I called moving US Moving Services at 4:30 Thursday afternoon and explained to them that the first moving company we hired kept giving us the run around for 3 days and we needed to be out by Sunday at the latest as the landlord gave us an extension and after Sunday we would be charged a full months rent. The first company quoted us $1,500.00 and we loved the price and they seemed to be a great company (until they got our deposit) when I called moving US they almost laughed at the price and explained thats why we were stuck. I am a teacher so I guess I should have known better but money was an issue. They quoted us $3,100 and promised they would be here by Sunday. Drivers actually showed up Friday late afternoon and are on their way to drop off off by Tuesday. Great service and isaac delivered us as promised. So far so good and kimberly we really appreciate your help and will be recommending your services to others. People, please don't let a cheap price fool you.

Thank you in advance,

Steve B

BEWARE - The street address is different but this is the same group of SCAM ARTISTS.

At the risk of plajorism, I am pasting the following text straight from the REAL shamrock movers site - although I'm sure that they'd be okay with this...here's their site, btw...

http://www.shamrockmov...

Read on...

"Since mid March, Shamrock Moving & Storage Inc. has been inundated with calls and emails from people mistaking us for a company they contracted with called "Shamrock Van Lines".  From the calls, it appears the confusion occurred in part because people were told "Shamrock Van Lines" is "Associated" or "Affiliated" with Shamrock Moving & Storage, Inc..  The statement is completely untrue.  Since 1975, Shamrock Moving & Storage, Inc. has been owned by the same family. Shamrock Moving & Storage, Inc.  is completely independent from and has no connection with "Shamrock Van Lines".

In April, we filed a lawsuit against "Shamrock Van Lines" for using a confusingly similar name and for engaging in unfair business practices.  We obtained a temporary restraining order stopping them from using the name "Shamrock Van Lines" and operating their business as "Shamrock Van Lines" pending hearing on issuance of a preliminary injunction.  In addition, we learned that "Shamrock Van Lines" does not have a permit from the California Public Utilities Commission, was directed to stop operating  until they obtained a permit, which directive they ignored."

As for us, well, we have filed a claim for our damaged stuff, but further than that, we are looking into a FRAUD suit and will press criminal charges.

In closing, they put the "SHAM" in Shamrock.  They low ball a price, hire shifty personnel, bait and switch, and display a flagrant disregard for your belongings.  Hire Mayflower or North American- spend the money - don't get screwed like we did.

This is another nam that  moving company "Better Way to Move" uses. They have changed their name after CBS news did a story about them ripping someone off, charging $2,200 for 8 boxes. I hired them several months ago for a local one bedroom move. They quoted me $280 but once they had my items on the truck they gave me a bill for $4,000 and said they had performed additional services I was now responsible for. I had not asked for or approved any additional services or charges and when I refused to pay they threatened to impound my items until I did. I have since contact the BBB and PUC and found out Better Way to Move/We are Moving Relocations has an extensive file with many criminal charges, 66 with the BBB and 23 with the PUC. Call the BBB and PUC to verify for yourself, they know them by name and will not even need to look them up.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.  They are not licensed to do business in the state of California.  I found this out only after they scammed me and my family out of $1300 over and above what the original estimate was.  The original estimate was $793.  I was very, very descriptive on the size of our home and the amount of furniture that we had and the office assured me that the time reserved and truck issued would be ample to take care of all of our needs.  The movers came, they were very rude and only 1 spoke english.  They made us sign documents that were not filled in and then began to wrap all of our furniture in plastic wrap.  When we told them to stop on several occasions they just kept going.  Later to our surprise they charged us $1300 for that plastic wrap (which is prohibited by the state to even be used).  They would not give us an itemized bill or give us our belongings without payment of $2600 and then we had to CALL THE POLICE to have them mediate the situation.  Now I have lodged a complaint with the public utilities commission who have informed me that they are not even licensed to do business.  If I can help anyone out of this, I would be happy.  DO NOT USE THEM, THEY ARE CROOKS AND WILL STEEL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!  BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!!!

"I signed up for a Yelp account just so I could write about what a wonderful moving experience I had with s van lines.  I cannot say enough nice things about them, but here's a start:
1.  They showed up exactly on time.
2.  I did not realize that I needed to get permits, but they were very professional in communicating to me the different options, and letting me decide what was the best way to handle the situation (they could park farther away, meaning the move would take longer, or they could park closer, but risk getting a ticket that I would have to pay for).
3.  As happens often when you move, you don't realize how much stuff you have until you start packing, so my original estimated time window was not accurate.  As soon as they realized that my move might take longer, they communicated that information to me, and in fact they ended up finishing in the original time frame.
4.  Not a single thing was broken during my move.
5.  They provide wardrobe boxes at no charge, so I did not have to pack any of my clothes that were on hangers.
6.  They literally whistled (well, hummed) while they worked.  Their good attitude made them a pleasure to work with.
As I mentioned above, I think the thing I most appreciated was how they communicated to me during the move, allowing me to make the important decisions.  They are extremely efficient and professional, and they are worth every penny and more.
thanks guys!!!!"
