2 reviews for Moving Arts Dance Center
We went to see "Beauty from Darkness" at Moving Arts last night and it was incredible. Appreciators of Avant-garde will love it. Gloomy, eerie, brooding, bleak, INTENSE, with style. The show had several different pieces running a total over 2 hours in length. It included an additional performance by the group "Judgement Day" a Berkeley based trio which seemed to evoke a vocals-free Bauhaus.
The show is only playing two dates this year. I will keep my eye on this place for future events.
I danced in a bunch of their classes and always had a great time. Holly Morrow is a fabulous instructor for tap and ballet. I had a great time in their modern dance classes, although I didn't always understand what was going on. Their facility is huge and impressive and features not only several studios, but also a performance space.
I went to see a resetting of the 2nd act of Giselle there and was quite pleased!
