morning dj's are better than 94.9 too.
99.7 is a pretty good station although sometimes they play music that I really do not like and can be repetitive with their selections. One time they played two lady gaga songs back to back.... I mean really?
I am very happy that they brought Fernando and Greg back to a bay area radio station. They are a great way to get going in the morning! However, I do miss their ability to play whatever they wanted from the electronica genre and Fernando's morning mix was usually really good. Now I feel saturated with Miley Sirus and Taylor Swift.... which I have heard far too often in the course of a single hour.

I agree with other posters on here. Movin 99.7 used to play better music. They used to play music from my high school days (wasnt that their slogan?). Now they play a lot of that synthesized-voice rap garbage that seems to be popular with our stupid youth.
On another note THANKS to Movin for bringing back Fernando and Greg!!
Sadly, I never thought my two favorite morning personalities would have anything to do with rap music. I couldnt bare listening to rap music while waiting for Greg and Fernando to give me today's news. The formatting of this station needs to be changed to dance music like 92.7 or change Movin to what it used to be. I CANT DO THE RAP THING-I am in my 30s! Thanks.

I love Fernando and Gregg in the morning! I listen to them all the time when I'm driving to work and I hook up the radio feature on my phone when I am on the go. Thank you 99.7 for signing them on; they where missed. I give them a 5 star if I could.
The music is what I gave a 4 star on - bring back the old school jams from grade school days like you use to play. There are already a ton of new age stations (like the revamped, retarded 92.7 HAHA what a joke!) It would also be fabulous if there were some techno beats played too.
This is my new favorite radio station because *wait for it* Fernando and Greg are going to be on the new morning radio show!!!!
All you 92.7 mourners, listen up...99.7 is where the guy have gone. Some of you may not know them (they are not Perez Hilton btw), but they are hilarious and will brighten up your morning commute. I'm waiting to see whether this station will play any electronica, but I can tell you that 92.7 is on my bad side, in other words, off my presets. Getting rid of F&G and the whole station (then having the new morning guy saying "this is your new favorite morning show..." f that!) is not cool.
I may change my rating later, but I'm excited that my morning divas have been found. :)
Movin' 99.7 appears to be the new home of the Energy 92.7 guys. Joey V and Fernando & Greg have moved over and 99.7-HD2 is an all-Dance station, similar to the old Energy format. Pretty happy with it so far.
-1 star for the excessive Miley Cyrus. I find myself flipping stations every time I hear it.
I used to love this show when they played mix old school and current songs. This station is like the NEW Wild 94.9...seems like people will make the MOVE alright to some other stations.
What happened to Bhaltazar? What happened to Maria the morning show? uhm....no clue.
Great DJs but seems like the songs are looping...same song over and over...When was the last time you heard the old school songs???
The return of Fernando & Greg to the airwaves has prompted me to add this station to my car's presets. The music is crapalicious crap that school kids these days are being spoon-fed every two hours and leaves people over the age of 30 feeling like they're experiencing a form of warfare that immobilizes intelligent thought. However, they have F&G.
Did my ears deceive me this morning when I heard the hilarious promo for the return of Fernando and Greg to the San Francisco airwaves? Thank you thank you thank you 99.7 for bringing F&G back!

I'm still a huge fan with the WILD 94.9, but I think that this station Movin' 99.7 is a lilttle better because it's great to listen to ST. John Your Soooo FIERCE,in the afternoons. I missed him so much, when he left WILD 94.9 It seems more like WILD 94.9 in this station now, not that they have Carmen doing pranks calls. It was hella funny when Bhaltazar was there with Maria.

I would have to agree with everyone else on here. 99.7 used to be a GREAT station but now all I hear is a bunch of electronic crap that proves that you don't have to have TALENT to be on the radio anymore. Why did Maria get shit-canned? She was alright but it was much better with Bhaltazar. Hell the entire station was better when he was on! I do not like Fernando and Greg either. Thier promo's were downright ANNOYING before they started on Thursday. A constant answering machine telling us that the other wasn't going to be there.. *YAWN* Why can't I find a simple radio station that doesn't play garbage and have stupid dj's? Is that REALLY so much to ask? ,,I,_
Sorry... my commute hasn't been the same since Balthazar left the morning show. He made the morning show bearable since I couldn't stand the trashy tacky Carmen prank calls. Now its been pretty much down hill since its only Maria. I switch between Movin' and 740 everytime Maria starts talking or there's a commercial.

UGH!!!!! i will be switching to a new radio station at this point. listening to the new djs on movin 99.7 sounds like fingers on a chalkboard. maria and balthazar were at least normal people. the whiney voices of, who are they....fernando and greg?.....ride my last nerve. i used to love the station and lately their music has also gone down hill. they play the same songs over and over, and i have to say that i am getting real tire of hearing 3 different gaga songs within a 30 minute period. MOVE ON!!! FIND SOMETHING NEW!!!! I AM!!

Where in the world is BALTAZAR? I think I might have an answer. So no one really seems to know WHY he left, I just hear rumors that he was let go because of budget cuts, and others say his 2 year contract was not renewed. I went on his Myspace and I guess he has some entertainment company now, very strange. I guess you can hire him to DJ your wedding. But this station is just not the same station I feel in love with back in 2007, once they changed the format and Baltazar left it was all bad =/
Like everyone else, we already have a 94.9 no need for another one as for the morning show I listen to JV now.

Movin' used to play the BEST mix of music. Back in the day (aka last year), you could hear Salt N Pepa followed by Britney, then ol' school Usher, TLC, and after that, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. Now what do you hear? That "Don't trust a ho" song followed by Lil Wayne, and maybe a Lady GaGa song if you're lucky. (OK, they play Lady GaGa a lot.) Instead of playing a wide variety of new and old songs as they did before, they overplay the same handful of "pop" songs all day long now.
Bring back the 90's jams! Bring back the 80's freestyle! Bring back the random disco song! We already have one Wild 94.9, we really don't need another one. (And this is coming from a casual Wild listener!)
And almost all their ads diss Wild somehow. ie, "Hi my name is X and I made the move from Wild 949 to Movin' 99 SEVEEEENNN!"

Morning Show = 2 stars now that it's no longer the Balthazar & Maria show. They were such a good team! I've tried to listen to the show with just Maria in the mornings and it's just not the same. I don't hear Balthazar's hilarious and addictive laughter. There's no chemistry anymore because there's no one left! It's more just Maria talking and ranting about topics that find somewhat interesting, but not enough to keep me captivated during the morning commute! I also think her commercials are super annoying. Stop trying to make it sound ilke a story and then tricking me by spitting out an ad. UGH. I find myself listening more and more to JV on 94.9 which is hilarious especially with the crew he has on the show like Nessa!
Other times = A-OK! Good music, but super annoying that 94.9 and 99.7 seem to coincidentally (probably not) have the same song playing at the same time.
I dont understand why they stopped playing music that was "geneticly improves your mood" it actually used to work. it would make me feel good. i even used to go to their events.
the only thing i like about this station now is how they clown on 949. BUT DONT TURN INTO 949!

What the heck happened here? Back when they first started, Movin' 99.7 was the spot on the dial that satisfied my daily craving for a little Boy George, New Radicals, and Thompson Twins mixed in with some New Jack Swing classic artists such as Hi-Five, Guy, and Soul IV Real. It was like the newest incarnation of our beloved defunct Top 40 stations from days of yore - KYUU, KWSS, Hot 97.7 and Z95.7.
Well, as the trend will indicate, Adult contemporary/Top 40 stations do NOT survive for very long in the Bay Area. Sad to say, but Movin' is no different, and has now seemingly turned into Wild 107 redux. Apparently, this is what draws in the ratings in the Bay Area. As much as I like St. John, his arrival was a sign that impending doom was near.
As far as commercial radio goes, we are now stuck with a plethora of "urban youth" stations, and not a single one in operation for Top 40. Now, I can enjoy a little "hit pop" and R&B as much as anyone, but is it really necessary to have 3-4 channels simultaneously bumpin' Souljah Boy and Plies five times per hour?
Fortunately, for those in the East and South Bay, there is always the almighty 89.3 KOHL radio (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) based out of Ohlone College, one of the best stations of any sort in the Bay Area.
I love this station. My car, even though has a really good sound system, is always on this station. I dont bother having CDs or MP3.
when I am at the gym, I'm listening to it. Its the only way I can run my 3 miles. No other station will provide the same up beat music that makes my run easier.
I even listen to it online when I am at work.
All and all, I guess I'm pretty much just listening to it all day..... I'm addicted.
I use to love this station....but now that Balthazar is no longer on the Morning Show....it really sucks. I love Maria but not as a Morning Show Host. It has totally lost its appeal to me. Also Mark Nieto is gone now and in the place of him is some boring traffic/news reporter. I am not a fan of Saint John either...although he plays great music, his voice annoys me.
Ick! I hope the station gets better....I am listening to it less and less now. Thank God for Pandora on my iPhone!! ;)

This station has such an odd playlist.
In the beginning, they seem to have gone for a very specific niche - early 90's pop. At least half their songs were in that category. It's clear who they were going for....nostalgic late 20s/early 30s listeners who hear it and immediately geek out all like "OMG! It Takes 2 by Rob Base, that was my JAM!" See all the reviews here, it works like a voodoo charm.
Yet lately they've backed off from that, leaning more toward current pop (FloRida, Lady GaGa, etc.), like they're trying to be one of those KISS-FM type stations the Bay Area doesn't have, but not too much. And for some reason, 80's synth pop?
I still like this station though. They do play a lot of stuff the others won't touch.

I've been listening to this station since they first came out in hopes they would resurrect what Z95.7 used to be during the 90's. It was a little bland in the beginning. The DJ's were nice but were lacking a bit of je ne sais quoi. And then... St. John showed up. =) I'm so happy he left that "other station." He gave the Movin' more personality.
I love the mix of music they play on here. Hip hop, pop, top 40 and even... rock?? =O They actually play a song from All American Rejects on here. And if you don't like anything they're playing, you have the opportunity to participate in their Movin' Music Panel online and rate songs so they can cater to their audience's preferences.
I also like how you can text or submit songs online to win some of their prizes. Because calling in is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. Ugh. Stupid busy tone. But their prizes are great. They recently raffled away a CARRIBEAN CRUISE. =O
Bring on the great music! I listen to this station everyday for six hours a day at work and I'm still not sick of it. =P

Well I dig their LOVE TRAP... soo funny and sad at the same time.
Music that they play in not bad. But I like Energy 92.7 better. I have been to couple of 99.7's parties and the music/crowd/energy was nice. I enjoyed it.
I only get to listen to them in the morning on my way to work. Aside from that... its just other misc. radio station that's on in my car. Overall I enjoy 99.7.

I started listening to 99.7 just last year. I seen the booth at the Fremont Arts & Wine Fest and I thought they played a good variety of music from "today and back in the day" which is what radio stations should do. (Gives you that flashback feeling when you hear that song you listened to like 10 years or so ago)
I love the morning show and for once, I'm able to get through because they answer the phone. I love it that Perez Hilton calls in and gives out the latest dirt. The love trap it just awesome.
Its what I listen to all day, 8+ hours - thanks to the radio on my desk.
Oh and I hear that St John from 949 is coming to this station!
I prefer 99.7 over all the stations in the Bay Area... they play a bunch of top hits from 90's to now (from Madonna to Britney/Lady GaGa/and hip-hop)... Not bad and their radio dj's are nice and friendly, not much smack talking and definitely cleaner and more PG friendly than 94.9 is. I really enjoy Maria and Baltazar in the morning... but SERIOUSLY what is up w/ St. John being on Movin' and Wild 94.9??? Are they recycling and reusing radio djs??
My car pool buddies & I used to listen to Movin' from the minute we backed out of my driveway @ 5:15am 'til the minute we returned home @ 6:30pm... The radio dial NEVER changed, in the car or at work!!
Baltazar & Maria were the best!! They had us all busting up before the sun even came up. It was great. They seemed to have the greatest on/off air relationship. We'd call in and they'd chit-chat w/us. Listen to our point of view. Super friendly & super down to earth. But, now that Baltazar is M.I.A. it's kinda blue in the morning. Maria doesn't seem as spunk anymore with out her "partner in crime"!
Maria we heart you, hun!!! Tell Baltazar we heart & miss him too....

I miss the way Movin was in the beginning. Why would you get rid of your morning show DJ and not even let him say goodbye? The same for the afternoon.

The music format for most of the day is great. A lot of variety: old and new. When I found Movin 2 years ago, I spread the word, showed my support and listened every day from then on.
However, now, I am sorely disappointed that Baltazar is no longer on Movin' Mornings. I feel that Maria is so "flat" now. They should have left St. John at 94.9 and used that money to keep Baltazar. That trade was a major FAIL in my book. St. John just bugs me.
Still the best radio station in The Bay!

Yes, I'm Chunk da Producer and my review will be biased, but ya know, from someone who loves radio and works in radio, i have a unique experience that I would like to talk about...
We play the jams, we answer our phones, we give out real prizes, we give you the hottest dirt, we are an actually a live and local radio station...
our music is programmed HERE, all our DJ's live in the bay area, we are live from 5am until 11pm
unlike...every other station you listen too
we play your requests....we answer your emails

The morning show has gone completely in the toilet with Baltazar's departure. (Why did he leave anyways? Did anyone even tell us what happened?)
I used to get a good laugh and some good music listening to Baltazar and Maria in the mornings on my drive to work. Now, all i get is "The Ladies Room" with some of the stupidest topics ever. The morning show now has zero substance, very little entertainment value, and is turning into a bit of a chore to listen to.
The station still plays good music in the morning, but I can get the good music without the dry, boring commentary on several other stations in the area.
Until they re-vamp and "freshen-up" this morning show, I'm changing the station.

Baltazar and Maria are sO funny.
I freaking love their Early Morning Quickie mix. It helps wake me up for work at the ungodly hour of 6:30 am. Really weird, I love this station at home but not in my car. Maybe because they play more dancey-stuff in the morning and night when I'm home (my life is oh so exciting) and more 90's in the afternoon, the times I tend to drive.
From the promos about their shows (Ball Buster-prank calls, Love Trap), I don't think I want to hear them talk. Sounds too juvenile/taking advantage of people's personal problems for me. Just give me music!
