I moved from my three bedroom apartment in Logan Square to a two bedroom condo in Schaumburg last Saturday and used Move-tastic. They were AMAZING!
Their prices were very comparable to a couple of other movers that gave me quotes. One thing that I liked was that they had one fee for materials, so I didn't get nickled and dimed on tape and shrink wrap.
The crew called me as they were on their way to my apartment and they were actually a few minutes early! They spent a few minutes assessing my stuff and then got right to work. They were polite, friendly and very professional.
I had a very large dining room set and about 10 boxes of fine china that needed to be moved to a separate storage unit. They took extra care with these items and didn't complain once about having to haul everything down three flights of stairs.
The entire process, including travel time on a Saturday, making a stop at a storage unit, and eventually unloading everything in the new condo took only four hours! About half of what they originally quoted me. Granted, I was very organized and had everything packed and ready when they got there, but I was amazed!
I would highly recommend and plan to use them again for any future move. -

Due to the fact that I have moved 6 times in the last 4 years, I know a thing or two about movers. I have always had 1 bedroom apartments, and each moving crew has been 3 people. Typically, I have gotten my moves done in 3 hours, and spend around $425. I was expecting this to be the same, if not better based on all the reviews. This move was $550, and was the smallest move I have made.
It started out well, as my move was scheduled for 2pm and they asked if they could come early. They arrived at one. All of my stuff was packed and waiting in the living room. One guy sat with me and talked for a bit about the paperwork, and the other two began grabbing my things. I expected the man talking to me to jump in when we were done, but he really didn't. Instead, he just kind of meandered about and told the others what to do. He grabbed an item here and there, but essentially didn't contribute. The other two moved slowly, to the point where my fiancee and I questioned whether or not we should just start helping.
We drove separately from the truck, and waited 40 minutes for them to arrive. We arrived in 15. We both took side streets. I have no idea what took them so long.
Once they arrived, they proceeded to back into the loading zone, which was pretty large. This took an additional 20 minutes. At this point I was stressing out a bit! It had already taken 3 hours and we hadn't even begun to unload.
We had a bit of a fiasco when we unloaded almost all of our items, and my building double booked the move. Not their fault at all, but had the beginning not taken so long, we would have been done in time. Thank god they arrived early!
All in all, they finished around 5, and I tipped them on top of my total.
Was it terrible? No. But It was slow paced and lazy, and their process was inefficient. I would rather pay $100 less to move and sacrifice a bit of the great customer service. At this point, there are other companies that will be less expensive, and at the end of the day the cost is most important.
Why 5 stars? When the company got wind of the situation, they called me immediately. They were very polite and refunded a portion of what I spent. I can't believe the customer service here, and regardless of my experience this it top notch! -

This review is long overdue but still rings true.
I hired these guys to move and pack my belongings. Both Dan's packers and Tristan's movers were professional, fast and thoughtful. They packed up my entire apartment in an hour and a half. Seriously, the BEST MONEY I'VE EVER SPENT. The movers made quick work of four flights of stairs at my old apartment and had no trouble with the "vintage" staircase at my new place. The next time I move, I'll be ringing them up for sure. Thanks Move-tastic! -

From the burbs to the Loop. A very nice service, but they were kinda slow. Also, they scratched my lovely cupboard, which I was not happy about at all. But, when I contacted their representatives they offered a little discount and were very nice to me over the phone.

From the New Eastside to the South Loop.
Unfortunately, I'm a tiny bit disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were too high after seeing the reviews which, I did not read until a couple weeks after my move. I didn't express any dissatisfaction at time of service - I was frankly too exhausted to ask questions about how long it took.
Overall, I would use them again in the future, but I wouldn't say I'm as ecstatic about my experience compared to other reviewers raving about how they finished early and paid less than they were quoted.
They were already running late and then could not find my apartment which delayed the start close to an hour late. I had Comcast scheduled at my new place from 4-8, which I thought should work perfectly. I received an offer through Urban Bound for Box Beaters which I found to be extremely helpful when packing and I thought would make it easier on the movers too. I was quoted 4-hours and $540, which I didn't think was an unfair price, but I also didn't think it would take that long considering that everything was packed quite efficiently, in my opinion.
For a 1-bedroom, I really don't have that much - very light on the decor, nothing oddly shaped or extremely heavy. At first glance, they told me it would take 2 hours but it took 3 to get out of my apartment. I definitely appreciate them being careful and packing the truck mindfully but I really don't see why it took that long. It took the truck about 30 minutes to get to my new place which only took me less than 10 minutes in a cab. They apologized (although I hadn't even said anything about it) and said traffic was so bad and State St was really crowded. It would have been nice if the driver were more familiar with the area - he could have zipped straight down Congress (or even Michigan) without much delay.
At this point, they started to noticeably hustle, which I kind of expected earlier and would have appreciated. I missed my Comcast appointment and had to reschedule. They finished about an 1:15 minutes later than expected. -

Use Movetastic for your next move. They are the best! They were on time, efficient, kind and came in under the quote they gave me.
Our only problem with the move was that our couch didn't fit into our new place (our fault, not theirs). I explained that I was planning to give it to my sister who was coming in a few days to get it anyway, so I suggested they just put the couch in my garage space for now. Jason offered to take to couch back to heir warehouse and store it free of charge for a few days until my sister could pick it up. What a life saver!
This was the best customer service I have ever had with a moving company. -

My husband insisted upon using Move-tastic after seeing Chicago Magazine's write up, and though we don't plan to move again too soon, we'd use them again.
They were prompt in getting us a quote and accommodating when we had to push our move back a week. Patrick, Marvin and Adam were our movers and they were courteous throughout the whole move process.

Move-tastic is awesome! Our quote was quick and very accurate. On the day of our move, we were supposed to have 4 movers, but 1 person couldn't make it. The three people that did come, though were fantastic! They took great care with all of our stuff, and still finished within the timeframe they quoted, even with one less person! I hope to not move again for a very long time, but if I do, I would definitely use Movetastic again!

Everyone knows that moving ranks as one of the most stressful situations one can go through. I think it ranks just under death, divorce, losing your job and illness as far as life-altering events.
I'm at the point in my life when renting a U-haul and bribing friends with pizza and a case of beer to help me move are long past. But what's this? A moving company that has a five-star average with well over 300 reviews? I knew I had to use Move-tastic for my move from Ravenswood Manor to Logan Square.
It helped that I wasn't taking too much in the way of furniture and that my schedule was flexible, because they were booked solid the last week of September and that was when I called four weeks ago. Thankfully, they managed to squeeze me in the afternoon of the 28th (even though I was prepared to move up my move to last week in order to use them).
My move was scheduled for 2:30 but at 1:30 the office called to let me know they were running an hour behind schedule. It wasn't a big deal to me and I appreciated that they didn't wait until they were already late to tell me they were going to be late as that's happened to me with past movers (if they even bothered to call at all). They ended up being about an hour and forty-five minutes late but it ended up working out as there was another moving company's truck at my destination that wouldn't be done until about 3 o'clock anyway. It also gave me more time to have everything in one room so it would be easier on the movers and help it go faster. I'm just glad that I don't live in a building that requires scheduled elevator time as it could have been a problem.
They arrived and thanks to my parking maneuvering ( I held a spot with my car), they were able to park right in front of my building which certainly facilitated everything. They packed up in under an hour and even with rush-hour traffic, they made it to my new digs and unpacked all my boxes and furniture well under their two-hour minimum. One of the crew even indulged my bf in talking about the Green Bay Packers so he was a happy camper.
It was by far the easiest move I've ever made. With a well-deserved gratuity added, my move came to $350. Money well spent.
Thanks a million to Move-tastic and Tommy and his hardworking crew for a stress-free move!

I hate moving. In fact, I'd rather do almost anything than move.
Root Canal? Sounds great! When's my appointment?
Drive to the 'burbs in rush hour traffic every day of my life? Sounds amazing!
Guest appearance on Jackass? Sur...well I might have to think about that one. But the fact that I'm considering it should tell you something.
So yeah, you get it. Moving with Move-tastic on the other hand makes moving less horrific. These guys are awesome. I've moved twice with them and they actually put a smile on my face on moving day. Not an easy feat.
Let's start with the scheduling. So easy. I love that you can make a few clicks on the online checklist and they get back to you with a quote and an offer to set up your appointment within a day. Drama free. I'm still curious to see if my quote would go up by selecting the nacho cheese dispenser on the list, though. Love it!
On to moving day. Well, before moving day they call to confirm. On the day, they call to tell you when they're coming. They take care of everything, where they're going to put the truck, how to block the doors, etc. Maybe moving companies do this all the time but my previous movers from Craigslist, a couple of teenagers wearing flip flops, never took care of that stuff. It's nice not having to worry about the basics. They also shrink wrapped my furniture and art work so it didn't get scratched. They even made sure to set everything up at the new place and double checked when they were done to make sure I didn't want help moving anything. Awesome!
Both times the movers handled all of my items with utmost care and have never broken a thing, despite my shoddy packing job and some super heavy boxes. They even moved my sombrero (which I wasn't even sure I wanted) without squashing it. I was hoping one of them would wear it, that would have been the icing on the cake.
The best part about Move-tastic is that the guys genuinely seem to enjoy what they're doing and they have fun together. They're having fun which kind of makes you feel like you're having fun. They never even blinked at having to carry all my stuff up two flights of narrow stairway. I don't know how they do it and make it seem like the best time ever.
Both times they have come in under the estimate which is always great news. I love these guys. The worst part about the whole experience was when they left...and left me with all these boxes. WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! -

I've been meaning to write this review for nearly a year, and can't believe it has taken me so long. Movetastic was wonderful. They were professional, careful, FAST, and our move turned out to be about $400 less than they originally quoted to us. Because they were so fast. Crazy. Also, those poor guys schlepped our not-in-considerable amount of stuff up to a very high 3rd floor walk up. In the rain. And were NICE about it. No one should ever move with any other company.

Lets get a few things straight. I hate moving. I know my friends don't want to help me move. We decided that we would hire movers this time around, because we're big kids now, and it's time to put our big kid pants on.
Moving is always kind of traumatic. Packing all your shit into a box and taking it somewhere else is never fun. The ONLY redeeming part of yesterday was our experience with Move-Tastic, which made moving a helluva lot less stressful than it could have been.
Setting up the move was super easy. I filled out the form on their website (taking an inventory of all our stuff) and they contacted me via email with a quote. We settled on a move date/time, and they called me the week of the move to confirm all the deets.
WE WERE READY.
They showed up on our move day at 9am (on time), accessed the situation, we signed some paperwork and away we went. We were moving our one bedroom apartment into a 2 bedroom apartment (that happened to be across the street from our current abode) and we had 3 movers working with us. Super nice guys. They hustled. They carried 3x the weight I could. I did my best to stay out of their way and let them do their work.
All in all, it turned out great. It was about 3.5 hours of work with no damage to our stuff. We paid (our final bill was on the low end of the estimate they gave, hooray!), they left, we got brunch. The end.
If we ever have to move again (which won't happen for a very long time), we will definitely use Move-Tastic again.Listed in: New Digs/Housewares

This was the best moving experience I've ever had. The 3 man crew called a half hour before arriving and arrived promptly at my 9am reservation time. They were very professional and extremely efficient at moving the belongings of my one bedroom apartment in a timely manner. Originally I was just going to have them move my furniture and a few heavy boxes to save money on the moving costs, but they went out of their way to help me move several items I did not plan on having them move without adding a lot of extra time onto the move. I'm always scared to hear the price at the end of a move, but this time I was pleasantly surprised with a bill that was much less than I had budgeted for this move. I would definately reccommend Movetastic to others and will definately use them if moving again within the Chicago area.

Chris and the polite, helpful (STRONG) and clean team turned up on time.
We moved from downtown to the west suburbs and needed help at the other end as well. Nothing was too much for the team and everything was done with consummate professionalism. I will not hesitate to use them again. In fact, I saved his cellphone so that next year I know who to call without bothering with the crap I have suffered on my previous 6 Chicago moves. This was the nicest experience I have ever had moving. Oh, and the price was what it said as well - no hidden charges - HUGE difference!

They quoted me a higher price then I was charged because they moved faster and got done in a shorter amount of time. That's unheard of! The four guys were so nice and just good people. I highly recommend them!

On time, efficient and professional. The three guys were all cordial and knew what they were doing. they had to take apart my sofa to fit through a doorway and put it together again quickly. also, my move was supposed to be a 2 person move but they sent 3. they charged me for only 2 but each guy helped anyway.
overall, great experience, finished just under 2 hrs. definitely recommended, would use again. very fair rates. -

Moving is always a little stressful (actually a LOT stressful) - and finding a good moving company who is going to work hard, not rip you off, and are careful with you stuff can be a lot to ask for.
I had 3 friends separately recommend Move-tastic to me and had nothing but good things to say. Plus they have 5 stars on Yelp so it made it an easy decision.
They don't have any hidden fees and are very careful to make sure you know what to expect and quote you with a little extra time cushion. I had 3 movers to move just my stuff (I had an average amount of stuff I think) and it took about 3.25 hours. At $100/hour + $75 truck fee + $40 materials - I'm sure it's not the cheapest option out there (nor the most expensive) - but definitely worth it. I had peace of mind during the move knowing it would go smoothly.
All my stuff made it to my new apt and the guys were friendly and hard-working. I say book them! -

Although I have not actually used their moving service at this point, I have had an extremely positive experience.
I used the form online for an estimate for a very short-term move (like, I found out I had to move in 20 days and was in a panic). The form was entertaining, asking questions like how many Snuggies needed to be moved, or heavy items (like a spouse).
Movetastic got back with me right away -- within a couple of hours! -- gave me an incredibly fair estimate, were very detailed, and extremely polite.
I wrote back to thank them - the timeframe they'd be able to move me was outside of the range of dates I need to get out of my current rental. But they referred me to another service that might be able to assist!
I'm assuming this is why they are booked up and couldn't fit me in. You just don't come across exceptional customer service like this that often.
I am definitely going to utilize their services the next time I move and really wish I could do it this time, but my current landlord is a beast who is breaking our lease with very little notice. I would be hard-pressed to find anyone available at this point in the city who was trustworthy and fair. -

I used these guys last year (because of the Yelp reviews!) and was absolutely thrilled by the service. So much so, I've pushed them to anyone who's even hinted at moving in the last year. Efficient, quick, and professional, these guys had me packed and moved in under two hours.
And, as multiple people have testified, they had me moved WAY under the price they quoted me. The will always be my default choice if I have to move in the Chicagoland area, no question. -

I had such a great experience with Movetastic and highly recommend them. They moved us all the way from Evanston to Ravenswood (at rush hour!), and it still only took them a little more than two hours from start to finish.
I've read so much about how speedy they are that I worried it would be sloppy service. Not at all! They were careful with everything and very diligent about putting things in the right place when arriving at our new home.
Our team was Kevin, Luis, Ryan, and Mark, and they were all great. (If you can recommend a Team Leader, then I highly recommend getting Kevin.) They were friendly and communicative about what they were doing. I felt comfortable and happy having them in my space, handling precious belongings. They even gave us some tips about good restaurants in the area, and what tools to use to fix the broken leg on our couch. It was above and beyond any expectation I've had for movers in the past.
These guys are great at what they do and truly seem to enjoy meeting new people and doing the job right. Plus, it was $200 less than my last move, which was for a much shorter distance. For two broke grad students, we couldn't have been happier with the price! -

Hiring Move-tastic! to move us was probably the single best decision of my adult life! My boyfriend and I were faced with the daunting task of moving out of our apartment just 6 weeks after we moved in (building in foreclosure and no heat for several weeks, among other things). We knew we couldn't bribe our friends into helping us do it again so soon, so a moving company it was. I received estimates from several companies, and Move-tastic was in line with what other companies offered, but since I knew a friend had used them and liked them, they were the company I selected. They over-estimated just to be safe ( 6-7 hours), and I assumed it would not take that long to move us, and I was right.
They moved our entire apartment from the 3rd floor into our new place (also 3rd floor) in 2.5 hours!
The crew of 4 guys worked their tails off, wrapped everything in padding and shrink wrap, never dropped a box, or banged furniture in to a doorframe. They set up our sofa and bed too! and They were efficient and friendly and genuinely good guys (shake your hand look you in the eyes, if you know what I mean).
Can't say enough good things about Marco and our crew from Move-tastic! Book them, you won't regret it! -

I have only moved with movers twice in my life (this was the second time) and my experience was amazing and a completely different experience than I had in the past. I had used Midway movers to move last time and their bid of $680 wound up over $3,000. Additionally, when I tipped the crew for their work, the lead guy threw the money on top of some boxes and said "This is it? This is for 3 guys?"
The Move-tastic crew was amazing. They showed up on time and eager to work. They over estimated the cost, so in the end I acutally paid less. I am a Realtor in Chicago and will recommend them to all my clients. It is refreshing to work with a company that acts as they should.

It is a well known fact that moving sucks. The thought of moving is so terrifying to me that it kept me from leaving the trap I was living in for 2 1/2 years (Thanks, Beal Properties! ...That is a whole other review...)...but I found a gem of a spot in UKV and decided it was time for the dreaded "M" word.
A friend recommended that I check out Move-tastic! for the occasion and I booked them for a Monday morning move. The crew showed up at 9am and moved me out of my old place and into my new one in less than three hours, in the rain no less. Move-tastic was fast, friendly and a delight to work with -- they came in way under budget, too.
I can't say enough great things about Move-tastic. If you're moving, you should not even THINK about using another company. -

We used Move-tastic in August to move to the burbs (waaaah!), and they were great! 4 man crew, all very professional and eager to get it done. They put up with a lot from us - subletting, so take this, not that, and why yes, we do have an 8 week old baby! Thanks for noticing this is going to be a rough day for him and making it go faster!
They ran late getting there because of truck problems and then had a smaller one than planned so they brought two to be safe, and knocked off some of the travel fees because we only ended up needing one. But the best part of the day - one of the guys sang the whole way through it. Made me feel so much better about asking someone to shlepp all our crap out, knowing he was chipper enough to sing through it! Thanks, Move-tastic! -

Just thought I'd write an update. My boyfriend and I just moved from Chicago back to New Orleans, and though we were driving our own truck, the thought of going up and down from the 3rd story to pack everything up seemed daunting. Since Move-tastic! did such a great job the first time around, we called them up to see if they'd just load our truck for us. It took them just under 2 hours to move an overstuffed 1bedroom apartment downstairs and pack it neatly into our moving truck. As before, they were courteous, quick, efficient, and very careful with our things. Nothing got hurt in the packing process, and they were even cool to our cats, who were freaked out by the noise. Love these guys, and will be calling them up to move us in if and when we make it back to Chicago.

OK. This is the second time we have used Move-tastic! And the second time was even better than the first! Moved out of a 4th floor walk-up and moved into a first floor apartment about a mile away. Used their truck and 3 guys and both moving out and moving in was completed in 2-1/2 hours!

OK - enough with the !s - but I can't emphasize this enough - if you're moving in Chicago, Move-tastic! is a no brainer.
Fast, efficient, friendly, estimate beating - everything you've read (you're reading again here) and is true.
If moving in general didn't suck so much I might do it more often just to have these guys do their thing.

UPDATE!!!! After writing this, the owner of Move-tastic! contacted me. We had a long discussion about what happened during the move. He truly wanted to right the situation because we were unsatisfied. We were reimbursed an amount that the owner and I both thought was fair, and I told him that I would definitely consider Move-tastic again...we both discussed how there are so many variables that can affect a move.
It's clear to me that the owner really cares about his customers and wants them to have positive experiences. A lot of times, companies are not that service-oriented any more. I was impressed.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I've only ever used Golans, and they've always been good. But this time around, when I checked Yelp and Angie's List to make sure they were still getting great reviews, eh, not so much.
So I took the leap of faith and hired Move-tastic. SO glad I did. My move could've been a nightmare. Two days prior, my new landlord called to say, "Soooo... I hate to say this, but it seems my current tenant is refusing to move out." Yep, a squatter. Which meant moving my stuff into storage, scrambling to find another dream home, then moving AGAIN. Ugh! More than anything, I was angry and frustrated about the extra cost of moving twice.
I shouldn't have worried. Move-tastic alleviated as much stress as possible. They were incredibly accommodating with their schedule. Sal and the guys were super friendly and chill. Rather than being the type I'm used to -- short, squat men shot through with testosterone and the strength to haul five fridges a piece -- these guys were lanky and laid back, looking like half of an indoor soccer team. Which, honestly, had me thinking we'd be way over the estimate. Hardly. They were super fast, running between loads of my heavy-ass furniture and beating their estimate by at least an hour each time. I have no idea how they did it. In the end, the two moves cost less than one with Golans. So awesome. Plus, my dog loved them -- in spite of shivering with anxiety and telepathically screaming "WHERE THE EFF ARE WE GOING?!" all day long. That's worth at least a star.
Really, hire these guys without hesitation. Moving will always suck... but they make it suck a whole lot less. -

My experience with Move-tastic could not have been better. It took a team of four (Kevin, Luis, Ryan, and Mark) just over two hours, including rush hour travel, to move me from Evanston to Ravenswood. Not only were they swift, but they were careful with my belongings, and were conscientious about where I might want things in my new place.
As great as the price, speed, and care were, though, the best part of the move was the crew itself. Not only did my stuff get moved, but they showed me the best way to tighten up some places where my furniture was coming loose and recommended a good Thai restaurant in my new neighborhood. What's more, when they were finishing, Kevin noticed my record collection and we had a chat about The Boss as he closed out the bill. After they made their final trip upstairs, each member of the team shook my hand, asked if there was anything else he could do, and said, "Enjoy your new place." It was the perfect blend of professional attention to detail and amateur zeal. -

Pure Awesomeness.
I had wanted an earlier appointment, but couldn't get it since they were booked. Move day comes, and I get a phone call saying they finished early and could come right over. Sweet! They were quick, helped move a 2nd storage unit later too! Can't be beat! They really move...sprinting
back up to the house after they move stuff into the truck too!

Hired these guys for my second move in a year. Once again, super fast, professional, friendly and professional service. Aiden and Jeff called me to let me know that they could be at my place 30 minutes early, which was great, and were very happy to assist with the additional task of moving some of my parents' upstairs furniture to the first floor of the house.
As with my first move, the estimate process was fast and efficient, and the move itself was great. Everything was wrapped in blankets and shrink wrap, and then moved quickly, with no damage, into my new home.
