Lovely local no frills Mediterranean restaurant. Plenty of seating, no wait, nice staff, reasonable prices.
Always pick a dip or two to start with, paired with a giant fluffy pita. The hummus and baba ghanouj are both great.
Have had various lamb and chicken dishes and have enjoyed them all.
Only thing I personally did not love was the pitza, a Mediterranean-style pita pizza.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nyc T.Manhattan, New York, NY0174Apr 21, 2024
We opted for a takeout order due to the restaurant's bustling activity. While we appreciated the variety of dishes, the wait time exceeded the initial estimate provided. The wraps were decent but didn't quite stand out. Similarly, the other dishes were above average, though none were exceptionally memorable. While it's a solid Mediterranean spot, I've had better experiences elsewhere in NYC.

We were pleasantly surprised to come across this place serving some favorite Mediterranean dishes. The place is arguably small and casual, but thanks to outdoor dining they were able to add some more diner.
They do not take reservations, so we decided to dine here on Saturday night slightly early to avoid peak hours. True enough at around 7 pm this place is bustling.
For a nice July summer weather what better way to start dinner than a chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc? We then ordered freshly baked pita bread and hummus, it was simply delicious.
We then shared a pitza (pizza) and lamb kebab served with white rice, both dishes are delicious and perfect for sharing. The service here is friendly and efficient and we will come back to try their other dishes such as baba ghanoush and chicken kebab.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Magz M.New York, NY34403047Apr 6, 20241 check-in
First time trying out this spot tonight. Food was pretty delicious, decent portion size, pretty good price. The drinks weren't too bad, it's very different from what we are use to drink in New York but in a good way. If you want something out of the ordinary, we recommend trying the Ayran and Loomi. The only reason I did not gave a 5 stars because the service is slow and we waited close to 20 minutes before someone took our order. but the customer services were still friendly even with the wait.

I've been to NYC three times in about 18 months. Different seasons have rhyme and reason. Moustache keeps raising their bar of excellence. In August, I went to 90 Bedford and noticed they closed. I looked online and noticed a different location less than 6 minutes away with the same name. And, I was in luck! They relocated to a bigger and better location.
Business is good in a better location. Their outside seating is open and they offer more tables. Signage is noticeable from the street - and service has picked up quite a bit. We had a wonderful experience at their new location. I'll be back when I visit again to see their growth and continue to wish them only happiness and success. Congrats Moustache!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Jan 3, 2023Previous reviewMonths later, I came back and ordered the hummus, chicken kebab plate, and baklava. Moustache is consistent with their service and dishes. The authenticity in their food and delivery shined through.
May 30, 2022Previous reviewThe service was good. The location is right next to the Friends building on Bedford Street. The hummus was creamy and authentic to the region. The salads are big and could feed two people if you order an entrée with it.

Amazing staff and friendly service. The food was good but I wasn't too found of the seafood pitza. It was a bit watery. The chicken ouzi was delicious with the flaky dome and flavorful rice. Interesting Mediterranean beer. Love how they offered us baklava at the end for free. Overall, would come back to try other items.
Outside seating is very nice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Blair P.New York, NY12218Mar 5, 2024
The old location was perfect !! The new spot does not have the same rustic, cozy ambiance but Moustache is often a go-to for me. The owner is always in there and this place speaks "labor of love." The pita is my favorite in NYC, ranking above 12 Chairs, Shoo Shoo, Shuka, etc. Make sure to order the whole wheat pitas (they have more flavor) and also, mint tea. The food is simple, you won't be "wowed," but it's soul warming.

Had made reservations for table of 4 for around 12:15 pm, when the place was relatively quiet, but it got absolutely packed by 1 pm on a Sunday afternoon - so reservations highly recommend if you have a larger group!
Inside seating was very cozy, and they have outdoor seating (not winter friendly). We started off with some beverages which included a delicious serving of Ayran ($4) and Turkish Coffee ($5), both were amazing. They also have a good list of alcoholic beverages including some local draft beers.
We ordered some Mezzeh which included Nivik ($10), Baba Ghanouj ($10), and Muhammara ($10) and 3 Freshly Baked Pitas ($1.50 ea). Muhammara was absolutely delicious and this was the first time I had freshly baked pita - what a difference that made!
For mains, I got the Falafel Sandwich ($10), and our table got the Lamb Kebab Plate ($18) - shared by 2, and I could tell that the meat eater thoroughly enjoyed their Lamb kebabs! Falafel sandwich too was very tasty!
What we liked was a menu which is really well priced, a very friendly staff, and food that arrived within 20 minutes of ordering, in spite of being relatively busy. Noise levels were at average level. I would highly recommend this place for excellent Mediterranean food and will definitely visit again!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jennifer P.Deerfield Beach, FL8822Feb 25, 2024
Absolutely our favorite place in the city. We've been coming here for 20 years, (from dates while dating and now bringing our son who loves it as much as we do). We love this place. The food is such amazing comfort food. I have never had anything here I didn't love. The location has moved recently and it made me a little sad for sentimental reasons but the new location was great and staff very friendly. I would highly recommend the chicken kebab plate and as many pitas and hummus as you can eat :).
