This was my first time playing at this course and I was impressed to say the least at the quality of a city owned course.

My friends and I played a round at 10:15 am during the week thinking it would be empty - NOT.  I don't understand why there were so many people playing golf?  ahem ahem - so many "older" people.  To say the least, our round was slow - very slow.

The tee boxes were in decent shape, the fairways were good and the greens were alright at the beginning but became slower towards the end of the round.

This course is challenging for the green fees which by the way, are regulated by the city of Los Angeles.  No GPS on the carts and no beverage person during weekdays.  Snack bar was typical and the pro shop was weak unless you needed a sleeve of balls and/or tees.

Other than that, I would definitely play here again and I recommend it to anyone looking to play a decent round in the Pomona/San Dimas area.  This course is conveniently located off of the 10 freeway.

However, be warned that the pace of play is slower than average.  I would say carve out at least 5 - 5 1/2 hours to finish.

My home away from home.

Damn, I love this course!!!

I've been playing this course roughly once or twice a month for the past 18 months, and every time I step onto that course it always a new adventure.
I rather enjoy becoming familiar with the course, it's nuances and the challenges of learning how to beat the course.
It is amazing to me, that...what seemed impossible 18 months ago, is now becoming a cake walk.

I love Mountain Meadows!!
Thank you Espe!!!

Very nice course to play on. I loved the fairways on the holes throughout the course. It is a bit narrow, but it's a good lesson for beginners. My friends and I paid the standard rate with carts, and was very happy with the service from the staff. Definitely will come back and try out the course again, hope to join in on the tourneys that they offer.

The one star missing from this course is the amount of n00blets that come and play on the course. On the last hole, some idiot was in my line of sight, and decided to pitch his ball back to his fairway. I did hit my ball, while he was on my fairway, and it hit his cart--nearly missing his head.

In general, they should have more marshals on the course, as these type of idiot golfers (actually, are not golfers, but idiots in general) are bound to get killed by a 200+ mph golf ball one day.

This is a very nice muni course. Very hilly and challenging. I recommend to play this course during the fall or spring, unless you don't mind the heat. Course can also be a long day, tends to play slow at times. But over all this is a great place.

Played in our companys 2nd Annual Labor Day Invitational here yesterday. It was my first day off in a couple weeks. I thought Id be tired as hell and play horrible, but I surprised myself.

I was to play in the 2nd group going out, but a last minute change put me in the 1st group with all the bosses, I was nervous. Word around the cooler in past days was that my boss was a player. He played at Ohio St from what I heard. A lot of trash talking before we started...

At the end of the day I had shot 4 over 76 and my boss, 83. Had never played with the boss before and I was surprised at his temper. Threw his clubs a couple times and dropped the f bomb over and over when he didnt meet his own expectations. I hope to still be employed when he gets here today.

As for the course; hilly and not so long from the white tees. Great views of the Fairplex and that little valley as you get to the backside. The greens are in great shape. They roll well and are receptive to any kind of approach shots (ie; spin, check and bounce)

The restaurant served up some good sandwiches and theres a full bar. The practice range is decent and the putting green is in good shape.

42 bucks to ride this ride on the holiday - not a bad price to pay to kick your bosses ass.

Let me start by saying that the course by itself is a four, but the overcrowding, bad management, and crappy employees are worth a two, so this averages out to a three.

I've played this course, on and off, for at least a decade.  The course is usually in great condition.  Lots of hills and elevation shots, with a few spectacular views of the surrounding valley and the Pomona speedway/fairgrounds. Some of these holes can be really fun.  However, there is a downside to playing here.

The course is managed with an eye solely on profit.  After they get your green fees, they can care less about you.  They consistently overbook the tee times, and I have never seen so many five/sixsomes in my life!    For hackers who rarely play, it may not be a big deal to have a six hour round, but for me it is unbearable to wait, wait, and wait at each and every tee.   Finally, the employees in the clubhouse and on the course are lazy and aloof.  I too have had trouble with my cart running out of power on more than one occasion, and by the time they respond (if at all) the round is nearly over.   If you want a decent course in the area with many of the same attributes, but a professional Starter and staff, check out San Dimas Canyon.

Fun place to play.  Course is in good muni condition right now, although they will be aerating the greens in April.  Fairways, rough, sand, and tee boxes are pretty good, yet not spectacular.  Nice layout and a chance to see some deer and rabbits.  Got around pretty quick, less than 4 hours, starting at 1:45 pm on a Monday.

I have been deprived of golf for too long, and I am happy I chose this course to get back into things. This is a fun course that presents some challenges, but nothing too absurd. I usually lose about three or four balls per nine, but not here. I never got the feeling of being rushed or overly challenged. Number 16 is definitely a grip-it and rip-it hole for righty's; even the ones with bad slices. I can say, though, that when playing the back tees, I assume this course gets much more difficult. I do have to say that there were some very nice views when you get northern exposure; airstrip, race-track, and great view of the mountains.

I was a bit worried about the heat (102 at tee time), but a plethora of trees, and constant breeze made this a very enjoyable round even in the hottest of heat.

The clubhouse is nice...nice enough to have a large gathering. They have a full service bar, and a nice food menu. The pro-shop leaves some things to be desired, but hey, no one is perfect. I have seen better, but I have also seen much, much worse.

I would have given this place a four star rating because of the great value and pure aesthetics, but it was not to be. On hole number 12, our cart was really starting to run out of "juice". We gave the clubhouse a call to get a new cart, and they said basically that they were really busy doing "something", but they would try to get someone over to us, and then hung up abruptly. Needless to say, they never sent a cart, and we ended up pushing the cart in spots because of the extreme hills at times.  When we were finally done with the round, we got back to the pro shop, and there were three employees sitting around; one of which was all huggy with a female. This is all fine, but not when you have a customer pushing their cart.

Also, they advertised having a beverage cart come around, and I even spotted it at the turn, but it never came by. You would think with the heat that they would have at least two carts out there all day. They would have made a killing just selling bottled water.

Overall, a recommended course because of the great value; 42 for 18 and a cart on a Saturday.

If you think golf isn't a sport, trying walking this course. I promise it'll kick your butt if you carry your clubs after 9 holes. This is a very hilly course and good practice for testing your stamina if you walk.

Many elevated tees help the ego, but beware if you don't drive it fairly straight, you'll be in a world of hurt trying to hit up hill out of the rough. My favorite hole is the par 3 9th. Pin is usually white near the right side next to the water. You'll have to carry just the tip of the small water hazard. Better short than long because the green slopes back to front and can be a tricky 2-putt from the back of the green.

The most challenging is the par 3 13th stretching 190 yd and you'll have to carry a large ravine on the right. If you slice, don't even bother watching, re-tee and aim to the left where you can safely layup. Balls that land on the green (few and far between) are usually short. It's very hard to reach the pin when it's in the back.

Overall a good experience with a mix of easy and challenging holes.

This course has a lot of hills to shoot over/around. I think it's certainly worth checking out.
