The exterior feels like a cabin in the Alps, the interior feels like a retirement home. All the other lodgers are over 60, and the faded books sitting on the shelf in my room consisted of an ancient Reader's Digest, a Garrison Keillor memoir and a book on grandparenting. But it's like the retirement home you'd WANT to retire in. Cozy rooms and attentive maids. Complimentary Sun chips and Capri Sun's when you arrive, an alarm clock I could plug my iPod into, and great water pressure in the showers.

All this, and a complimentary, hot  breakfast every morning. Amazing.

Loved staying here. Great central downtown location. Very friendly wait staff. Awesome room with patio looking out at the mountains.

Great to be able to walk out of your hotel and to all the attractions in minutes.

I like the local atmosphere combined with their take on alpine architecture as compared to some of the other places that try to be fancy.

This building looks very nice, classy Alps style, but is quite old and last renovated ages ago. For my first visit in Aspen, on a way from San Francisco to Miami, it provided a great place to stay one night however, with a price tag of only about $100. Walking distance to the condola and everywhere else, as well as a pool, a jacuzzi and surprisingly good sauna (although with a funny smell), it was a deal that couldn't be beaten.
