Probably the best Indian restaurant in the greater Buffalo area. Dosa is poor, Taste Of India/India Gate are OK but a little too commercial, and Star Of India is excellent but not quite as tasty as Moti Mahal.
Their Chicken Madras, Chicken Curry, and Chicken Makhni are all the best in the area. Their Tandoori is good. Their Naan is good. Their buffet is cheap and they always show Bollywood movies for your viewing pleasure while you eat.
5/5 and the tastiest Indian in town.
Moti Mahal is one of a few Indian restaurants that a pretty close to UB south campus.
When I used to live in the area, it was a must-go-to on the weekends after a night of clubbing. The buffet was the main reason for going, since it is well priced and very good, with lots of variety. The lunch buffet as well as the dinner buffet are great, but the lunch buffet is better priced and pretty much has the same stuff as dinner buffet.
The food is not the best I have had, but it's rather authentic and made with care.
The restaurant itself is a good size inside, with enough seating and spacing as not to feel to overcrowded when its busy. The staff are all very pleasant, not very chatty but very attentive and nice.
Good eats, at a good price!
