This place is Japanese owned and would constitute one of the few restaurants with real Japanese food (not just sushi).
So the sushi is WAY expensive 6$ for a piece of Uni, 4$ for a piece of Tuna, 5$ for a piece of Conch.  They add up pretty fast but the good thing is their sushi are sliced thin but long so you get more fish that some other places.
They also offer Japanese izakaya type food with Leek Garlic Pork (very yummy) and Buta Kakuni (slowly cooked Pork) so big plus since there aren't many Japanese restaurants in Miami that offer this variety.
The drinks - expenseeeve!  A small bottle of Sake that sells for 7$ in LA was 18$ so quite a markup on that but you can still count on 5$ Sapporos!
In comparison, it's better than Matsuri but Sushi not as good as the Japanese Market but so far the most variety!

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night with very high expectations. They have a banner outside their restaurant, proclaiming they are the sushi champions of miami, and have quite a few good reviews online.

We arrived at the restaurant at about 08.00 PM on Saturday. The parking is terrible in front of the restaurant, but the entryway is inviting. The restaurant seating area is in need of minor repairs, but the overall ambience is inviting.

There was only one other table in the restaurant and we were seated immediately. The server then proceeded to lug a large dry-erase board in front of our table and told us this was their specials. The specials were not explained. I found this to be very unprofessional and not a good start to our meal, but we were still excited to try their sushi, as we are sushi fanatics.

We decided to order a bowl of miso soup and tuna tataki as an appetizer as we looked over the menu. We also ordered one hot green tea and one iced green tea. After about ten minutes (keep in mind we are still only one of two tables in the restaurant and there are TWO servers working), our drinks were brought out and the server asked if we were ready to order. We ordered the sushi/sashimi boat for two.

The miso soup was brought out almost immediately. It was obviously from a powder mix that they did not dilute enough, extremely salty with a strange taste. The absolute worst miso soup I have tasted. I could only bear to take in about three spoonfuls before pushing it to the side. We were also brought our green teas a minute or two after the soup, which both were very weak and did not have the normal flavour that we love so much about green tea.

We waited another fifteen minutes for the tuna tataki to arrive. It did not look very appetizing, with the edges of the seared tuna gray and flaking, obviously NOT seared correctly. We still had high hopes, so we dug in. The tuna tataki was flavourless, overcooked and dry. Unlike any other tuna tataki we have had. My husband choked down the rest of the appetizer alone out of sheer hunger (we had already been sitting in the restaurant for over 40 minutes at this point).

The server came and removed the empty appetizer plate, however did not remove the miso soup bowl sitting at the far edge of the table (by this time, the soup was completely seperated and looked like a strange mix of yellow sludge and water with floating tofu).

We waited another twenty minutes (another table had arrived, ordered, and received their rolls in this time) before our boat came out. This appeared as a normal selection of sushi, sashimi, a JB roll and a california roll. The selection was edible and acceptable, but nothing spectacular and definitely did not make up for the long wait or horrible food before it.

Overall, this was the absolute worst experience we have had at a sushi restaurant. To come from the self-proclaimed "sushi champions", it was an utter disaster. After an $80.00 meal for two, we will never return to either Moshi Moshi location to give them another chance. With so many options in sushi restaurants in Miami, I cannot believe this restaurant is still around.

Don't bother trying Moshi Moshi, it is a waste of time (more than 2 hours!), money and aggrevation.

The sushi is wonderful!
They have quite a few specialty rolls that are different than what you typically find.

I am not a HUGE Sushi fan but I do love this place!

Everything I have eaten here has been fresh, tasty, and well prepared.  I also like the overall service and atmosphere of this small eatery in the upper east side of Miami.  There are has been constantly being redeveloped and this is a great addition.

The prices are reasonable and portions are great.  I like best the Salmon Rolls.  They also have a great collection of Sake and Beer.  A nice place for a date too.

Some colleagues and I hit up Moshi Moshi (a/k/a Moshi 2) for lunch on a recent weekday.  We were the only ones in there the whole lunch hour, which gave me pause.  They do offer a few lunch specials on the back of the menu - so look out for those.

I opted for the Roll Combo lunch special which came with 4 pieces of 4 kinds of rolls - california, JB, spicy tuna, and crunchy "crab" - nothing too exciting.  The rolls were good, but nothing too special.

One of my colleages opted for a bento box combo, and it turned out to be HUGE!  I would definitely consider that for next time.  Another one got a soba noodle dish, which was equally large.

I'd definitely like to come back to sample the other fare, including some of their specialty rolls, most of which looked very intriguing.

Yesss! I live in the Upper Eastside and it's about damn time a delicious sushi spot opened up. Sure, this area is chockful of sushi joints, but they all kinda bite the big one if ya know what I mean. And while I'm not the most adventurous of sushi eaters -- I generally stick to the basic stuff like California, JB and shrimp tempura rolls -- but some sushi places even screw up the sublime.

I decided to try this place because lots of Yelpers sang to Moshi 2's praises and I'm so glad I listened. On top of the delectable aforementioned rolls, our waiter Yani was extremely cordial and nice -- which is so refreshing in Miami where most waitstaff have major 'tudes and act like they'd rather be drinking bleach than serving you. OK, I get it...you hate your job, but don't take it out on my ass.

OK, back to the food. My hubby loved his salmon and octopus sashimi and tells me it was very fresh. My little brother -- whom is even less enterprising than moi -- said the chicken friend rice was on the money. And speaking of money, this joint is cheap compared to surrounding sushi restaurants. Nice.

So if you live in the Upper Eastside and get bitten by the sushi craving, definitely try this place. Another bonus? Japanese anime movies are projected in the sake bar area -- very cool.

free sake since they just opened (limited time?)
maybe some potential, but not for the sushi connoisseur

apparently they will eventually be serving takoyaki
this place is a new branch of the washington ave location
it's currently still being finished
once the bar is done, they will expand the kitchen and at that time, the plan is to include more items on the menu (similar to the sobe location)
i tried the kinoko pasta -- 3 mushroom generous portion italian pasta with onions and buttery flavor
had the seared tuna with asian salsa -- very tangy, fish not melty

we went last night ( 9/26) and this was my first time... the food was amazing. We live in the neighborhood and used to go to sushi siam  by soyka but i am happy to say that i found my new sushi place. They have a great sake collection... try the nogori unfiltered  it's sweet and very tasty. I had the yellow tail ceviche and the spicy tuna roll both exelent, the service was super fast and very cordial.... Any way this is a great addition to our mimo district, keep it up we'll be back

I was just lamenting another sushi restaurant opening on north biscayne--not that I don't like sushi, but really, how many do we need?-- when I happened to accidentally eat here. The shrimp shumai were above average. I had the kinoko pasta, which was very good. It was chock full of "wild" mushrooms, which is a rare treat when ordering something with wild mushrooms in it--usually it seems they are sparsely doled out. Not so here. Also, the Japanese curry was interesting and different and tasty--kind of a plum sauce or something, tender beef, quite nice. The sushi didn't seem anything to write home about...tried the tempura fried chef's special, but I'm not that into cream cheese so I wasn't too impressed. My friends liked it alright. The desert was pretty rad--like 15 asian doughnuts fresh fried with mounds of sorbet and green tea icecream. It was a lot for three people to finish, but delicious.

The service was pleasant and enthusiastic and I get the feeling that the cooking here is done with a lot of love. Free sake is still in effect. Bonus.
