849 E Commerce St Ste 283Ok. Here goes. Let me start off by saying I'm just your run-of-the-mill blue collar worker, and I don't have money to spend on every trend passing by... I do however, enjoy a good meal, and some fine dining when the occasion presents itself. I've been here twice (must've liked it if I went back right?) and both times were nice. So; Explain my 4 star rating... As you wish: First off, I'll tell you, I've eaten at The Four Seasons in NYC, (they won't even let you dine if you're not wearing a suit jacket)... Ruth's Chris Steakhouse... Benihana, and a handful of other similiar places (so I do have some viable resources to compare this too). I'll start with the food... The food was very good (no surprise there when you have accomplished chefs preparing the meals). One thing I should mention is the size of everything. They bring the "menu" out to show you what you'll be eating... everything's BIG. The vegetables, The Shrimp cocktail, The Lobsters... Real BIG. I will probably go back and eat here again... but the reason I only gave it 4 stars is because I think Ruth's Chris is cheaper, and their steaks taste even better... LOL

Wow, what can I say? If you want a classic, high end steak dinner, Morton's fits the bill.
We ate here twice during the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four, and both meals were perfect examples of how to run a top notch restaurant.
Our host ordered for the table both nights, and the menu consisted of:
Appetizers: bacon-wrapped scallops which were so tender they melted in your mouth; crab cakes which I didn't try but the others said were fabulous; gigantic shrimp cocktail which were tender and fresh.
Salads: huge wedges of iceberg with bleu cheese crumbles and bacon bits and diced tomatoes.
Entrees: Delmonico steaks, which I found out means "bone-in filets", and they were friggin great. Cooked exactly to order, too, with a crispy outside and tender inside.
Sides: asparagus - a bit too large in diameter for my tastes, but geez, is that really something to complain about?; mushrooms - large and tender and sauteed perfectly; Lyonnaise potatoes which were crispy and onion-y and delicious.
You can tell by the above that these were not light meals. Adding in wine and cocktails, and by the end of the evening you practically had to put me in a wheelbarrow and roll me back to the hotel.
The service was top shelf professional, from the bartender while we waited on Saturday, to the dining room captain, and our servers.
The place was full of beautiful people, our table notwithstanding - we sat there in our KU t shirts and shorts, but we were never made to feel unwelcome nor out of place. On Saturday eating at the next table was former UCLA coach and current ESPN college basketball analyst Steve Lavin, who graciously stopped by our table to congratulate the Jayhawks and shoot the shit with us for five minutes. Nice guy.
So kudos to Morton's, even if they did basically throw us out on Monday night when it became obvious they wanted to go home and we were lollygagging, drinking wine and after dinner cocktails. At least they threw us out in a very classy way - by ordering us a taxi and telling us we had better get out there quick to catch it when in fact we ending up waiting outside for twenty minutes.
I may not eat for a week, however......
