Morris Tavern

The food is worthwhile if you are eating in house . However , I wouldn't recommend trying to grub hub. By the Time the food will get to you it will be cold and limp.

Always good food and comfortable temperature inside. Staff is super friendly and down to earth. Gets busy on the weekends so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. But it's worth it.

First off, I really enjoyed this place. Comforting good food and atmosphere. I got a burger and taco pizza. The burger and fries were a little bland but it hit the spot nicely. The taco pizza was surprisingly good- Expect microwaved shredded cheese on this pizza with tomato, lettuce and beef. It was like eating a pizza with nachos on top. Service is where i have to knock off huge points. My group waited nearly an hour for our pizza's to arrive.

After years of stopping in from out of town, took my family here for dinner. Had a party of nine and got order in when the kitchen opened. After waitresses bringing the wrong orders, every ten minutes or so, then taking them back to correct them, after an hour of this the last person got his food when everyone else was pretty much done. Food ok except fries were over done dry and crisp. Staff was not courteous or polite, acted as if it was their first day on the job.

The only thing I can say positive about Morris Tavern is the taxidermy decor is well done and fun to look at. The food was terrible. Friday special fish dinner was over cooked and the side salad was forgotten and served afterwards. Our small and large pizzas came out 20 minutes after the fish dinner. I would like to say the service was due to them being extremely busy, but there were many empty tables and several servers. We will not be going back.

My husband & I have been long time customers at Morris's, but after this evening's visit, I think we won't be stopping there as often. We had the peel & eat shrimp, which was delicious, and salads. When the check came, I had questioned the waitress in regards to the cost of the salads as not being the price that was listed on the menu. She said there was a $2.00 surcharge on all salads & that they were in the process of getting new menus printed. Sorry, but until the new menu becomes available, keep the prices as printed or at least have the waitstaff mention the "surcharge." I definitely would have NOT paid $7.75 for a side/house salad, that was mostly lettuce. So just a word of advice for Morris's; don't out price your customers. Especially your local, loyal customers who have kept you in business for 50 years!

Went during a super busy time, Friday at five! We waited about ten minutes for a table didn't mind waiting at all! Got our order taken, we all ordered fish dinners. They brought out our coleslaw/applesauce first, you also got a choice of a salad if you wanted that instead. We waited about 20 Minutes for our food due to how busy it was. Everything was delicious. My only complaint was they never brought us out rolls, every table but ours I had to ask. Then they dropped about five or so of the fresh cut fries on the ground when delivering food. I didn't think I got a lot of the fresh fries to begin with so I wouldn't of mind if they replaced them but they were busy and other than those few things I really enjoyed the food.

Walked in for a late lunch and we had the place to ourselves. The lighting is a bit dim, but I think that was on purpose. Was startlingly to see all the mounted animal heads...deer, elk, birds. This building has been around since the 1940s and the restaurant and bar is a large place for groups and parties. A large bar completed the venue. The food was very good. We had the seafood pizza on thin crust. The Reuben and fries were delicious. The buffalo burger with sweet potato fries was like a hamburger and there was no grease since the meat is lean. We were pleased. The bathrooms were fine. Upon leaving, the bar seats were nearly full. Perhaps it was the 3 p.m. after work hangout

Morris is a hometown favorite. The food is always wonderful and the staff do there best to help you out as much as possible. Although I no longer live in the area, it is always a treat to visit Morris when I come back home! (Also, definitely the best thin crust pizza available!) I highly recommend Morris Tavern to all who visit rural PA.

We usually really love this place when we're visiting family! However, this time, the food was terrible! The fish sandwich was overcooked and like jerky! It was just fish and bun, no extras. The Mac n cheese was dry and tasted like it had been sitting. The wing dings were dry and like jerky also. Our bill was over 80.00 and the food did not support that high of a price!
