We got to the restaurant early and the rest of our party was still on their way, so we waited at the bar.  There was a great selection and a very friendly bartender.

Our dinners were all amazing and our server very knowledgeable (we peppered him with questions about ingredients and wines).  When our entrees arrived, we were all very pleased.

Two tips: arrive early to get parking close by and there are stairs to get into the restaurant so make sure you can make it up to get inside.

Thoroughly disappointed with this place.  I'd heard from several places that this was the place in town to go if you love food and you love the 'real thing'.  Um...no...this place is definitely not the real deal.  And that's my biggest gripe with it.

I love restaurants that are true to themselves whether they're opulent, slick & trendy, tiny hole in the walls, or bar food.  They just have to be true to their nature.  I took this place to be new & trendy.  The decor was nice, but it's all downhill from there.  The wait staff wasn't very knowledgeable about their alcohol or their cuisine.(!?!)  The food sounded great on the menu, but taste and reason when it hit your tongue just wasn't there.  It just left you with a feeling of either being fooled or being guided by the inept....maybe both.

Though if you don't eat a lot of great food you could let yourself get fooled by this place or you could recommend it to your fast food loving friends.....

Great food, service and wine! I love this place so much I got engaged here!
I have travled the world and would put this in my top ten (and I lived in Las Vegas for a year). Ask for Mike when you go he was very helpfull with the menu. The prices are very good for the quality of the food but it is not cheap expect to pay about $200  for two people (2apps,salad,2dinners,deserts and a good med priced bottle of wine)

I was originally going to take Baby here for her birthday but after reading some mixed reviews elsewhere, I didn't want to take the risk of disappointing her on such a momentous occasion. But I figured we should at least give it a shot (especially after reading the glowing reviews here) and for the past few months we've been trying to go but ended up having to cancel our reservations three times for one reason or another. You think I would have gotten the message that this was not meant to be. But, hey, what can I say, I'm stubborn.

Baby and I finally made it there for dinner on Saturday evening and we were underwhelmed, to say the least. Nothing was awful, but it just wasn't the transcendent experience we expected given Moro's reputation (as well as the prices). And the service left a bit to be desired.

Although there were only two of us (and the restaurant wasn't full), we were seated at an extremely large booth for four that wasn't at all conducive to the romantic mood we were hoping for. It was uncomfortable to eat at as I was so far away from the table I found myself hunching over to reach my plate at times (and I'm not a short person by any means).

The hostess was friendly and seated us promptly. The waiter, however, left a bit to be desired. He was rather impersonal to the point where he barely acknowledged (and seemed, at times, to almost ignore) Baby when describing the specials and when we placed our orders (he did say, "Good choice" to me but it seemed less than entirely sincere). Also, for such an intimate place, there were too many people involved in serving us. Not only was there our waiter and the food server but a third person brought out the dessert menus for us. It reinforced the message that our waiter couldn't have been bothered.

Baby got scallops for a first course and duck two ways for an entree while I started with the pappardelle with duck followed by an onion-crusted yellow snapper. Baby's scallops were OK but served on pasta that looked (and tasted) like a dried-out or raw ravioli. My pasta was fine and the dish good but nothing extraordinary.

Our entrees were similarly acceptable but were nothing extraordinary or memorable in the least. I was also struck by the fact that the evening's entree specials were just steaks distinguished only by the chef's over-the-top saucings.

Continuing the trend, dessert was similarly unremarkable. I had a chocolate semifredo which wasn't bad but the chocolate base was extremely hard making eating it a bit tricky. Baby got what was described as a Peach Cobbler (which she makes a wonderful version) but ended up being a shallow dish with a few thin slices of peaches covered by what looked like granola topped with ice cream. The topping was just sprinkled on without having been baked and did not impress Baby at all.  The Jelly Bellys on the way out were more satisfying than this uncreative dish.

We were not impressed at all and don't plan on returning.

Beautiful decor with a serene atmosphere, in other words upscale, trendy or very nice.

Quite an extensive menu.
Lots of choices and most of them sound mouthwatering.

What was ordered.

- 12 Raw oysters topped with a pineapple, corn salsa

- I ordered the Kobe Pork Chops Saltimbocca w/ prosciutto, argula and melted gorgonzola with side order of Crispy onion strings & Vidalia onion with white truffle risotto

- My fried ordered the Rack of lamb served on top of Broccoli Rabe/Mashed potatoes which my friend said was the Second best rack of lamb he has ever had in his life.

- Dessert: I ordered the Banana Cream Pie w/ Rum caramel sauce and my friend ordered the Peach Creme Brulee with Cinnamon Gelato.

The food was delicious.  Excellent.
Highly recommended.  Will return to try other things.
Definitely a splurge as it is a bit pricey.
Check out their online menu to get an idea.  The actual menu varies.
They also have daily specials.
Parking is on the street, no private lot.

The only comment is that the freshness of the raw Oysters were inconsistent, here is where Union Grill was better.

One of Delaware's finest restaurants.

Moro is an excellent upscale eatery worthy of a Seattle food snob.  A great place to spend an evening with friends, the decor is modern and intimate.  The staff is courteous and well-trained.  The menu is extensive.  Wine selections are well thought out (the pinot noir selection was particularly appealing).  Cocktails are beyond reproach.

Our first course consisted of homemade mozzarella with lightly fried basil leaves and tomatoes - love at first bite for an east coast native transplanted to the west coast.  Add to that an appetizer of grilled shrimp over risotto accented with tiny bits of crystallized ginger.  Delicious.

Despite the varied menu, our rather unoriginal dinner party of 4 ordred just 2 entrees - grilled shrimp over truffled mashed potatoes with chanterelles and spinach and filet mignon (prepared 2 ways).  Everyone loved their entrees, complimenting the complex savory flavors.

Dinner was completed with an order of apple-blueberry crisp and an order of carrot cake with pumpkin ice cream.  All opinions were highly positive.

Don't miss if you think you love food.

Moro is an enigma. When they get it right it's pretty damn good. Having said that it's a fine line because when they miss it seems tenfold because of it's reputation and price. When they let you down you really fell slitted.  The menu tries to be unique but seems to try to hard to do so. Moro seems like a high-end restaurant for people that don't know much about really fine dining. I am a steak guy all the way, however when your here go for seafood type dishes or duck dishes. Solid wines and dessert as well. If your going for a special ocassion or are not in the position to spend these prices on a regular basis you might not want to take the risk with this place because of the well documented "bust" factor. Having said that the atmosphere is beautiful and great for romantic nights with your girlfriend. I say give it a shot if the prices don't bother you otherwise spend your money elsewhere.
