6 reviews for Morgan Hill Aquatics Center
I have made several visits to MHAC (Morgan Hill Aquatic Center) & have had really great experiences so far until today.
Today was a pretty warm day in Morgan Hill, the kind of day where you must take care to hydrate your insides to keep from falling ill. Also, the kind of day where you walk across the park & your drink turns warm. I think you get the picture. So, I order some bottled water & snacks for the kids & request a cup of ice to go along with it. I was refused. I was told they don't give out ice. Hmm...I asked again but this time added what if I brought my own cup & was again met with a firm "No, We don't give out ice" Considering the fact that I spent a small fortune on snacks, I found it absurd that I couldn't get a cup of ice that (aside from power required to freeze) comes from tap water that is free. To add insult to injury, the churro I bought my pregnant daughter was hard as a baton!
Everyone has their days, so I could have possibly forgave that until I joined the kids on the big slide. If you've never been, there is a spiral staircase that leads up to the 2 slides so you can't really see what's going on too far ahead of you. So I'm patiently waiting on this staircase with water pouring down from who knows where when 2 lifeguards come running up the staircase. I thought, "Oh, must be shift change". I move up about 3 more steps when up run these same forementioned lifeguards wet. Hmmmm. I move up 3 more steps when yes, THE SAME TWO LIFEGUARDS try (notice I write TRY) to run past yet AGAIN. My daughter speaks up & asks' "What's the story? What makes you so special that you can cut past all of us who have been waiting patiently?" Answer? "We're in charge so we can!" What douchebags!!
Who in the hell is running that place these days? A wild pack of wolves?
I tell you, not so good when you're trying to teach your kids manners & grace.

The place itself is Ok - but their service and their CRAZY UNREASONABLE RULES deserve only 1 star. We came there yesterday with our 2 kids (6 and 2 year old). They gave us a hard time at first because the swim suit that I used for my toddler was not safe enough (even though it had a nice floating pads built in in the suit). They made me take off her suit and use their vest that they provide. After I removed the suit and put on her the vest - the next thing they said was: Oh, she is wearing a swim diaper but no plastic cover over it... plastic cover is required. I didn't have the cover because I planned on using our nice cover-up suit which they made us take off. Then they made us buy the plastic cover at their store for $8.50 (one time usage thing...). I was so mad with their freaking policies. We came there in a good mood, but left feeling awful.
Another bad thing - THE LIFEGUARDS act like crazy!!! They use their whistles every freaking minute, it's like you are not even supposed to breathe there...
i'm giving this place a 1 star.
the center is actually cool though..
two water slides.. an olympic pool, another big pool from 3ft to 6ft.. and two great kid areas..
just one HUGE problem..
THE LIFEGUARDS!!!
i used to be a lifeguard.. and i know the rules, and i know the standards..
these lifeguards were twirling their whistles, not even paying attention to their water. HELLO?! WATCH YOUR WATER!!
you're a lifeguard, your responsible for lives..
seriously, i would not trust your children here..
i left a nice comment card about their horrible, unprofessional lifeguards..
FOR SAFETY REASON, DON'T COME HERE!
Went here the summer of 2006 with Nate M. after we stopped by the Gilroy DMV so I could finally pass my M1 written test for my license. It wasn't hella hot that day. Probably got to around 90 or so in the middle of the day. They charge like $2 cheaper for Morgan Hill residence here. I think we paid like $5 or $6 or something for student admission. Just say you're from Morgan Hill if you ever end up going here. They don't check your ID or anything.
I didn't even know this place existed until Nate told me about it. You can see if from 101, so it's pretty close off the exit.
They have 2 sides here. 1 with the kiddy shallow end pools with a kiddy playground, some water fountains and a water slide. The other side is the olympic sized pool with lanes for swimming laps. I swam like half a lap with Nate and then I had to grab the plastic lane dividers cause I suck at treading water and breathing under water while swimming at my slow pace.
This place gets pretty packed in July and August when it gets into the 90s and above. They put A LOT of chlorine in these pools too since it's a lot of kids in these pools, so they got to kill at the kiddy pee pee out of the water. SO DON'T DRINK THE WATER or allow any of it to enter your mouth. Diiiiiiirty!
You can sunbathe on lawn chairs here too and they got showers to wash off all that dirty chlorine water off your body. Bring plenty of sun block lotion with some SPF 60 and above if you're fair skinned or have a light tan like me. The sun is killer on the naked skin in the summer.
But yeah, if you wanna just pay 4-5x as much for a day at the pool in the sun, I'd say just go to Raging Waters.

Came here for my Godson's birthday party. $9 for an adult admission and $7 for youth, this place is a big time bargain especially if you have little ones. The pictures on the website don't do this place justice. The focus has a strong focus for tiny toddlers with a play set in 1.5 feet water depth. They also have two larger (Raging Water) like slides and a regular lap pool.
Downsides include the fact that they don't allow any cotton clothing in the water. I couldn't wear my cotton tank over my suit. You also can't bring outside food other than water.
We'll be sure to visit here again before the summer ends.

this place is the best as the last review says. but the pool you MUST STAY OUT of is the one next to the baby one (i think). there are three pools the diving one, the baby one, and the one for everyone else.
ok so i was in the middle pool and when i got in it was warm like it felt 70+ degrees, so i asked the lifeguard do they heat their pools and he said yes and i asked to how many degrees his answer was scary.
the answer was 60 degrees max. when i heard that i got out of that pool as fast i can
