Moose is a pretty good bar. The service is pretty slow if you sit down at the tables, however better at the bar. The food is the usual bar food; wings, nachos, etc. Most of the food tastes pretty good.
We usually hit this place on our annual pub crawl.

My friends and I used to come here a lot last year and it was kind of our go-to bar. However, lately the staff has been somewhat lackluster. There are a few good waitresses there, but there are a few that make us just leave as soon as we see that they're there, not that they would notice because the terrible waitresses will finally get to your table after half an hour of you just sitting there like an idiot.
We prefer to sit outside because the inside is depressing, but not depressing enough to be a dive bar kind of place. I also noticed the upkeep on the outside has been lacking lately. To make matters worse, the patio is located right next to a sewer grate, so you occasionally get a whiff of poo gas. Also, if you sit outside, I hope you like the sound of your own voice because I'm pretty sure the speakers on the outside are just there for decoration, not for music.
The food is pretty standard bar food. By that I mean nothing you'd actually want to ingest. But after a few beers, anything is edible.

I miss Ted's Pub, it seemed to have a more comfortable feel back then, but Moose's is okay too. For the price, you can't beat the all you can eat fish and chips (come hungry!). And really, when was the last time you could get tater tots with your meal??
I prefer to go in the summer when the outdoor seating is available as one thing they have not invested a lot of money in is a proper ventilation system. I have come out of there reeking of smoke. If it were non-smoking I would probably give it 4 stars.

This place was cooler when it was the dark and dingy Ted's Pub. Now it has a cheap up-north cabin feel to it. However, the beer is cheap, the people are great, and it is a lot of fun.

Ted's Pub is now Moose Winooski's, but the menu, staff, and atmosphere are the same. The fish & chips are excellent, and they're all-you-can-eat for a reasonable price! However, there is undoubtedly more emphasis on the bar and alcohol service than on the restaurant and food service. It's often a little slow to get wait service at a table, as compared to at the bar. And although the servers have never been rude, they just show more interest in serving alcohol than food and soft drinks.
But in general, Moose Winooski's is a pretty relaxing place to sit back and have a beer with friends. It's popular during the warmer months, when they have outdoor tables that are full most evenings. The atmosphere is very casual and laid-back, so don't expect a trendy, modern, yuppie bar.
This was one of the first places I went with my parents when I turned 21, and of course I forgot my ID. They decided to take Mom's word for it and served me a nice, cold Labatt Blue. More recently, I've stopped here while visiting when I just couldn't bear to hang at my old RO hangouts. The crowd was low-key, and while it was way too smoky, beer was cheap and the folks were friendly. I'd go again. I've also heard good things about the fish & chips night here.
