Best Thai food AND unagi I have ever had. Period.
And how often can you get thai food and unagi at the same place?

The place was empty, it took forever to get a menu and  water.

The service was super slow, I wasn't in a hurry, but if no one is in the place why would it take so long.

I had veggie spring rolls that were with a peanut sauce and mint that were delicious, and a thai iced tea, the noodle dish was pretty blah and flavorless.

Overall it was a fifty fifty lunch, and at almost $20, I felt like I overpaid. I wouldn't go back again.

I can be a bit of a Thai Food snob given that i grew up in Seattle with a wide selection of Thai restaurants but this was really good.

I had Chicken Pad Thai, Duck Fried Rice, Sticky Rice, and a Thai Iced Tea. The Pad Thai was made right with good flavor and the right about of spice-I asked for 2 stars. The Duck fried rice was unique and flavorful.

The atmosphere was comfortable. I liked the presentation of the food as well.  Mood Thai has friendly staff and they aren't outrageously expensive. I would recommend them for a quick bit to eat near the Wharf.

Wow. Our server was really good. She must have ESP because she already knew what she was bringing me before I sat down.

For an appetizer I received a side of 'Eye Rolls'.  And that is as close to Sushi as they get. What I actually wanted was a Thai Iced Tea. When she rolled her eyes ahd shook her head I asked if there was a problem. Apparently yes because she had to make it herself.

For the entrée, she gave me a serving of 'Serious Attitude' for ordering straight from the menu. Even asking for that was just too much effort for this girl to write on the ticket.

Finally, for dessert, my friend got a huge helping of 'Oh, I didn't put your order in. That will be another fifteen minutes'. We actually didn't even want to inquire after it's whereabouts and risk her wrath.

I realize this is right in the touristy section of Fisherman's Wharf but there is no reason to be rude and provide bad service just because you can.

Even though the food and prices were good I'll take my chances and my business dodging the pigeon droppings and stand in line for crab in a paper cup next time. Oh yeah...they need to update the name to remove 'Sushi'. There isn't any. 'Mood' must be a hint that the servers (or one in particular) are always in a snit. But then again maybe she was exeriencing just a really bad day.  No.Thank.You.Not.Again!

They are in the middle of a remodel so do not go there now.  There is no Mood sign up any longer.  They were Thai and Sushi, they are becoming Thai and Russian?  Remodel means loud drills, half painted areas, slow service, and confusion.  Lunch took over 1.5 hour and we ate fast when we got our food.  I will say the food was actually good but with everything I will not be back even after the remodel it left a bad feel.

We go here almost every time we end up in the neighborhood with the kids.  Good food that the whole family likes.  The prices aren't bad at all for Thai food in SF and the staff is friendly and does not become annoyed with kids making a bit of a mess.  We tend to go around 3pm most of the time and end up with the restaurant to ourselves, and many times an employee that is sleeping on the bench on the other side of the wall on the way to the bathroom!  Have been going for years and will continue going unless something changes!

Came here for a quick lunch with a co-worker who was having an intense Thai craving.  The place was nearly empty, thus we were seated and served quickly. Besides the empty seats, the place looked barren and slightly unwelcoming.

Our waiter was friendly, but our conversation mimicked that of the drive-thru scene from "Dude, Where's my Car." After each thing I would say, he would respond, "and thennnn."  I couldn't stop laughing, even when he told me ten minutes later ordering that they ran out of iced tea.

Flavorful, but not memorable, was the yellow curry chicken dish. It tasted just like yellow curry chicken from any other Thai establishment. The little side salad was sad. Just a mini pile of sliced iceberg lettuce with a dab of rice vinegar. The price was right, however, at only $8.95.

Because of the reasonable priced lunch menu, I will return and take a chance on a different dish....and thennnnnnnnnn hope for the best!

I ordered the tofu fried rice and made it very clear that I need it extra spicy.  It wasn't even mildly spicy, much less extra spicy.  I had to add a lot of chili pepper sauce.  The rice was pretty good after the hot sauce but it would've been much much better if it was cooked spicy to begin with.  The price is fair and the service is very quick.  I ordered take out and got it within 5 minutes.

For those who are fan of Be My Guest Thai Bistro on Clement Street, this restaurant is the same ownership. The style is similar, Thai food with a "fusion" twist (I guess that's the best term for it). They also have a sushi bar but appears to be served only during dinner. On the other hand, if you're in the mood for just something simple, they have the usual assortment of noodles and soup, like tom yum rice noodle which is one of my Thai food favorites. It's what I ordered the other day when I came here and it was prepared at the right spiciness level.

I'm here on a business trip and part of traveling in this economy is keeping costs down.  The best way to do this is to have some normal dinner nights and some cheap ones.  This is a good spot for a cheap night.  For $20, you'll have no trouble filling yourself up on decent, quick food in touristy and pricey Fisherman's Wharf.

I got the spring rolls and the Mee Goreng and couldn't have been happier.  The decor is nothing to get excited about but that's okay, I was here to fill up on affordable food and I had no problem doing it.  If I'm staying in this part of town again and I'm looking for a cheap meal, I'll be back.

Came here for lunch! An unexpected find amidst the places offering clam chowder and seafood. Mood Thai proudly had their Yelp sticker on the window and I knew I would be in good hands.

They do have both sushi and Thai food, but since the workers were not Japanese, I thought it best to go with the Thai choice. I dunno, that's just my rationale.

Had the pad see ew ($8); it is one of my favorite comfort Thai foods. I have had wider rice noodles before (which I prefer), but it was still good: broccoli, egg and a meat of your choice with a sweet sauce.

One of the employees did some abstract street paintings of Fisherman's Wharf and they hang throughout the restaurant. Nice touch.

Walking towards the restrooms, I noticed they have a huuuuge room in the back for larger groups. There was a confusing sign in the ladies, however. It said: "We are experiencing problems with our toilet. Please ask walter if there is a problem. Please do not flush anything down the toilet." It cracked me up because a) my dad's name was Walter and b) how can you do your business if you can't flush anything down the toilet?

Wow...what has happened to this place? They seen to have treated the sushi portion of their business like an ugly step child. They've got some teenager making sushi, and he has NO idea what he's doing. The place is empty every time I go here. I think its a sign of what's to come at this spot.

The first time here, I had the volcano chicken - not something I would normally order, but it was ordered on my behalf, so I shut up about it [and actually, it wasn't bad, but still, not something I would usually order].
More recently, I've had the chicken satay w peanut sauce as an app - nicely done.  I tried to have the Kaeng Keaw Warn (don't ask me what that is, I was throwing caution to the wind when I ordered and wondering what I would end up w), but somebody gobbled it up before I could get my hands on it.  I think I saw briefly that it had an interesting greenish color to it.

Came here to get take-out so we can grab seats for the fleet week air showing.
I wanted sushi but they don't serve them till 5pm. LAME! I wanted to eat healthy so I ordered a

Spring Roll- There was a total of two spring rolls with fried egg inside. They were each cut in half and placed onto a piece of foil in the clear take out box along with a little plastic container of sauce. First off the sauce is not peanut sauce and they didn't do a very good job wrapping the rolls as all of them fell apart!

Ceasar Salad- After the whole, "no sushi till 5", I had to decide what to get. My friend was like get a salad. I was like "wtf? they have salad here?" Look down and theres a ceasar salad. So I order with no chicken. She gave me chicken! No wonder it was so much more expensive than I expected. It was curry chicken too! The salad was pretty much just lettuce, a bit of dressing, and these pieces of fake bacon, or what I presume is fake bacon. I didn't finish my salad.

Long journey to the bathroom. Looks shady but once you push the door with a cartoon of a female on it you enter into a fairly nice bathroom.

Stopping by here was a matter of convenience.  I had family visiting and they were staying down by the wharf.  Thai sounded like a good idea, so we headed to Mood.  We were encouraged by the "People Love Us On Yelp" sticker hanging in the window.

    Oh, how things change.

The food was too oily and tepid in temperature when it reached the table.  The service was slow, as the wait staff would rather chat with each other than spend time attending to the guests.  After finishing our meal, we waited nearly ten minutes for them to bring back change.  When they did, they brought the wrong amount of change back.

Let me put this all in to perspective for you: We were the only customers in the restaurant.

Since my coworkers introduced me to Mood this past summer, I've eaten lunch in the restaurant, ordered delivery to the office, and called and picked up to go (ordered for dinner tonight). I can safely say that this "cute and normal restaurant plunked down in the heart of Tourist-Land" (to quote myself) is pretty good on all the variations of dining.

Especially impressive is the delivery. Their to go boxes are the thin plastic see-through boxes, and their food comes out piping hot (which I love). To work around this, they line the boxes with foil. I love getting piping hot delivery. Plus, they always under-promise and over-deliver on the time; they've never once been later than they tell me when I order.

Normally, I'd say avoid restaurants that try to do too much. This Thai and Sushi place has at least the Thai sides of the menu down pat! As for the Sushi side of the menu, I am not sure; so far, I've only had the spicy tuna hand roll from the first time I ate lunch in the restaurant -- and that was good. I seem to always forget that there is a sushi option, too, when ordering delivery or to go.

Back to the Thai side of the menu, my favorite noodles are still the Pad See Ew (though the meat is tough sometimes -- today, I ordered it w/ tofu). The Pad Thai are decent as well. Today, they made a duck fried rice for me, though it isn't on the menu. We also had the sea bass w/ edemame and a ginger sauce over rice, which I thought was delicious but my 6-year old son thought was too gingery.

Mood, I'll be back. Or maybe I'll order delivery. Or maybe to go. All ways are good.

Seeing as how I'm watching my intake this month, I thought Trader Joe's was going to be my only option for cheap, healthy eats in the Fisherman's-Dub. Then I tried Mood, one of my new favorite lunch spots.

Mood has a mod little theme going, reminding me of Osha without the spaceship chairs. The prices, however, did not remind me of Osha. Most lunch options were $7 to $10. They have an incredibly extensive menu that included everything from lumpia to spring rolls to a host of your favorite Thai standbys; I had the grilled beef salad, a fave of mine at King of Thai. Sushi rolls (all your faves in that department, too) are available for around $5, and they have sashimi combos for more. A gluten-free girlfriend was my most recent lunch partner, and she was able to narrow down her many options to a tasty-looking curry without rice.

Jasmine tea to wash it all down was a lot better than the Lipton I usually get at such places.

I'm an easy-to-please luncher. If I even have a proper lunch, it just has to be quick, cheap and good enough to bring me back. I'll definitely be visiting again and I'll definitely have plenty of other items to try next time around.

Um, kinda gross. I've gotten delivery which was actually a 3 star experience, but dining in was not awesome.

We ordered a chicken dish that is served on fire, how could this not be awesome?? Well, I'll tell you. It tasted like lighter fluid. oh and salt. That's it. Satay was lackluster and the low carb pad thai (yes, I was dining with two very fine gay gentlemen) was beyond bland. Oh yes and there was a very large pebble in it. You heard me: A rock.

I think the Thai Iced Tea my friend ordered was pretty yummy, but as the other of my dining companions referred to it as "fat ass in a glass" I did not partake. Ben Laz, thanks for the coupon!! We shoulda known that a place boasting both thai and sushi on the wharf was bound to be a little crazy.

Since Citizen Thai and the Monkey in North Beach is now gone, I'd recco Dupont Thai on Grant, or an Osha Thai over this any day. I give two stars since the staff was pleasant, but not especially fast for a pretty empty restaurant.

This place needs to find an identity. It's not only Thai and sushi, there's also the More. Just call it wannabe Asian fusion already.

One would think that the Thai food should be the highlight, followed by the sushi. Or at least both equally good. Unfortunately, both are equally bad. The Thai noodle dishes tend to be very, very, very bland. The sushi tends to be very, very, very much like what you can get at Safeway. (Though I wouldn't really know, I've never eaten supermarket sushi.) The curries aren't too bad. Neither are some of the appetizers. They even have okonomiyaki, though it's mediocre at best.

On the plus side, the decor is pretty nice. There is almost never a wait, in fact there have never been more than a few occupied tables when I've been there. The service is pretty attentive.

The best thing is... they deliver. And it's usually pretty quick. Which, sadly, gets me to return here...

I have to say first off, i have not eaten in the actual restaurant..i only order for delivery since they deliver to my work. and Thank GOD!

I love Thai food..i'm always in the mood for spicy thai noodles..and i am never ever let down with the choices.

Normally I order the: Pad Kee Mao $7
Stir-fried rice noodle with a choice of meat, bell peppers, tomatoes,
green beans, carrots, chili and basil.  I always ask for extra spicy.  This dish hits the spot & leaves me feeling full and sleepy.

    I've also had the: Pad See-u $7
Stir fried rice noodles with a choice of meat, egg and broccoli and a
splash sweet thick soy sauce. (no egg for vegetarian version) and also ask for exra spicy.  The sauce is thick & salty, the broccoli is usually nice and crisp.

     Pad Thai $8
Stir fried rice noodles with a choice of meat, chives, tofu, egg, bean
sprouts, tamarind sauce and ground peanut. (no egg for vegetarian
version) cannot go wrong..but i feel like pad thai is so boring.  so i rarely choose to get this dish.

     Imperial Rolls $6
Fried egg rolls stuffed with cellophane noodles, shiitake mushroom,
cabbage served with sweet and sour sauce are lovely.  The shell is nice and crispy, with just the right amount of grease but doesn't leave you feeling heavy and oily.

The prices are reasonable, the delivery is within half hour and it always comes nice & hot! Portions are reasonable as well, though i'm curious to see what the difference in portion size is compared to if you sat down and ate at the actual restaurant.

Hmmm...Thai...now i'm certainly in the MOOD.

I give Mood Thai credit. This is just about one of the only Thai restaurants in the Wharf area, so for that litlte quality, the food was actually not bad.  It's hard to find a decently priced restaurant with decent quality food at the Wharf. Not bad for the area that's what I have to say.

I've had this place delivery to my work quite a few times and, from my experience delivery is pretty good.

Ordered the Pad See Ew many times, the portions are pretty big, with lots of sauce which I love. When I order this for take out from other places, I have often gotten it with the sauce dried up, so it's great that Mood Thai pours it on.  Good amount of veggies and meat.

So this place also has sushi.  Sushi in a Thai restaurant, is well, sushi in a Thai restaurant.  Nothing special about it...but I can definitely satisfy your sushi craving in this area of S.F where there aren' t many sushi restaurants.

The ambiance of this restaurant is simple, nothing special, with hardwood floors, wooden booths, and chairs.  So dining in can be a bit uncomfortable...but fine if you are just having a quick bite to eat.

Overall, nice to have a good Thai restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf.  It gets tiring eating the same American, Italian, Seafood thing all the time while at work.

Is this cavernous restaurant a thai place with a sushi complex? Or a sushi house with a hidden thai talent? I couldn't decide, and the prices were reasonable enough, so I tried a bit of both.

The verdict? Both were done well (chicken satay skewers and red snapper sushi), but portions were small. I can't complain when prices were low to begin with.

    A solid if unmemorable spot.

I love this place and go here often as a creature of habit. The restaurant is clean, affordable, has a friendly staff and is near my house. I usually have a curry but on this most recent visit, I was craving a salad- to start. I ordered the steak salad and it was out of this world! It was substantial enough that I didn't need a main course. (But I did have the lovely satay appetizer.) I don't know that it's particularly a Thai dish (the salad). Seems kind of western but  I will never go there again without ordering it.

Spartan decor, its all about the food.  In the span of my two week tour in San Francisco I went there six times.  The perfect blend of salty, sweet, sour, hot, crunchy and soft.  I still get cravings for that Pad Thai.

This place surprised me by serving the best sushi I had on my trip to SF.  My boyfriend and I stopped in for some panang and a few basic rolls, and we were completely stunned at how wonderful everything was.  We were the only people in the restaurant, and the staff basically doted on us.

So, points for speedy service, nice staff, perfectly cold water (I am weird about this), great panang, and phenomenal sushi.  I plan to return here the next time I am in SF, even though it means gritting my teeth to get through the Fisherman's Wharf crowds.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that even with panang, a beer, and 3 or 4 rolls, we made it out for under $20!  Crazy!

Crammed in among all the crap of Fishermans Wharf is an actual restaurant with normal prices and exceptional food. This is NOT a tourist trap! This is great contemporary Thai food. Don't go to In and Out or one of the bland pizza dives if you are in the area. Go here.

Ever been to Be My Guest on Clement? Mood was opened by the same woman. Similar menu and interior design. The two share some staff as well. When she isn't starting amazing restaurants and remembering your name and order, she is studying design. Very industrious!

I recommend all the Curries (green especially), the Kra Praw with Chicken, Samosas and Grilled Beef Salad. All the dishes are well balanced with just the right dash of piquant.

I have not yet had the Sushi, but if it is on par with their other dishes, I am sure it will satisfy. No full bar, which is good for me since I would no doubt return to work trashed.

I work in the area and I am ecstatic that I don't have to settle for crappy crap food and pay a billions $$ for it. Nothing like a good local restaurant with a friendly attentive staff.  Five Stars.

Good selection. Close to the touristy Wharf area, yet has a local feel. Attentive servers. Sushi was very fresh, and affordable! Sake Cosmo was unique.  Would easily go back for casual meak.

Working in such a touristy area, it's hard to find some good lunch without having some kind of seafood/clam chowder involved.  A friend took me here on a Monday for lunch and the restaurant was relatively quiet.  I ordered the lunch special (I'm a sucker for any kind of "special" or "combo") which was a unique blend of miso soup (japanese), egg roll (chinese), and a thai dish. Wow, talk about all walks of Asia in this meal.  Oh! plus a salad.  The food was filling, not immensely tasty but still satisfying.  Service was prompt and there's really not too much to complain abotu.  Okay for an every day lunch but definitely not considered gourmet.

My family and I went here tonight because it was next to our hotel and we were tired of $30 cab rides all over town. The place was completely empty and that caused us some concern. Also disconcerting was the decor/ambiance and odd choice of music.

We decided to stay and in the end we were quite satisfied. The food was above average and the prices were quite reasonable. We had the Phad Thai and Phad Se Yu. The food was served hot and fresh and the portions were a bit larger than average; especially considering the very affordable $8 price per entree. The service was efficient and friendly.

To sum up, this is not a place I would take a hot date; but I would recommend it for the good, fresh food.

Have walked by this place SO many times while visiting the BFF's a few blocks away but never got a chance to try it.  Always seemed empty which is generally an iffy sign for most establishments...

...but anything with the word Thai or Sushi is always worth a try in my book!  Walking in we almost outnumbered the staff, we were greeted with friendly smiles and jovial hellos.  We were immediately seated near the window (perfect for me to people watch/oggle at jogging female passerbys) the waiter was ready to take our drinks within the first few minutes.  My friend had the lychee ice tea and said it was delicious, but I stuck to water that night (which was constantly refilled so another + for them).

Generally anything in the area is pricey for the actual quality (gotta love tourist traps) but I was happily surprised with the depth and pricing of the menu- it was cheap!

Between the 3 of us we ordered 1 appetizer (great samosas!), 2 soups, 3 rolls of sushi and 2 entrees.  Soups were delicious and serve 2-3 as it didn't specify on the menu.  The pad thai was well worth the price but I could have done w/o the volcano chicken (a tad dry).  The sushi was edible but nothing my fat ass would ever crave- offset by the prices, it was doable though.  Total price w/o tip came in at just over $50.

No chance to explore the bathroom, even after 5 glasses of water, but the place started to fill up as we were finishing.

Guess I'm just that popular of a guy...

    In summary:

    Mood: Full!
    Thai: Delicious!
    Sushi: ehhhhh.
& More: Happy hour appetizers $3 and cocktails less than $5!

Mood was a great experience this evening.

The food was definitely 5/5 stars.  I had the Tom Kha and the Pad Thai, both which ranked as probably the best of their kind I've ever had.  I ordered my Beef Pad Thai as spicy... and they delivered.  It was good and hot, and coupled with the warm conditions inside the restaurant, I was sweating my ass off.  The waiter did a great job bringing me glasses of water, which was deliciously infused with cucumber.

The prices were awesome (without the plum wine, my delicious dining experience was only $15), the food, portions, and presentation was out of this world, but I have to ding Mood on the mood of the place.  I walked in, and I was disappointed by the decor.  The place looked like a cafeteria.  The tables were cheap, poorly spaced, and the walls were white.  A little bit of paint, some tablecloths, and some blocking could have easily turned the place into a five star establishment.

Do not hesitate to stop into Mood if you're in the area -- the food is amazing and at the rock bottom prices, you can't beat it.  I would definitely go again.

Mood is an unusual combination: a Thai restaurant and a sushi restaurant rolled into one. Even more unusual: the prices are reasonable and the food on both sides of the menu is tasty. Add to that the fact that it's affordable AND right in the middle of the Fisherman's Wharf area and Mood seems almost impossible, when you think about it.

It's challenging for me to eat out because I have a gluten allergy, but I found plenty of options here that I could try. The menu is extensive and full of delectable-sounding items, and I changed my mind several times about what I wanted to order as I read through the options. I finally settled on an ebi/cucumber salad -- very tasty, if a little salty -- and a red curry chicken with veggies. The curry was lovely, with just the right amount of heat, full of fresh chicken and tasty vegetables.

An added bonus: they flavor their water with cucumber! Very refreshing.

I ordered through http://delivery.com.  The order took 1 hour 45 minutes to arrive even though they are located 10 minutes from my house.  The people at the restaurant were completely unhelpful.

The food was cold and unappetizing.  A big puddle of grease flowed out of the flimsy delivery bag.

If you want Thai food delivery, I would recommend ordering from Ratcha Thai, which has better food and better service.

I think I've found my favorite Thai spot in SF, the weird thing is, its in the center of a tourist mecca.

I took my SF visitors here while they were staying across the street at the Holiday Inn. Its pretty easy to pass up, its wedged between two cheesy tourist shops, and its Fisherman's Wharf, there are just too many damn distractions in the area. Its pretty surprising inside, you'll find yourself in a modern setting complete with a sushi bar and minimal decor. The prices are great as well, especially considering where its located in the city. They have japanese items and sushi on the menu but I wouldn't come here for it. So far I've been here twice and have enjoyed everything, especially their spicy red curry and pad see ew.

I think they put sugar in everything... cause its all so damn tasty.

    Is that bad?

    But its sooooooooooo goooooooooood.

I've been here twice now since it opened.  As other raters have mentioned, good and well-priced food is hard to come by around Fisherman's Wharf.  The first time I came here, I just wanted a snack so I got the Spicy Tuna Makimono (hand roll) and a thai iced coffee.  The roll was good and really spicy.  I like spicy food, but it was almost too spicy for my liking.  The thai iced coffee was kind of weak, but they use sweetened condensed milk, which makes up for it.

I came here for the second time for lunch today.  I wanted some sushi, but the sushi chef was out (maybe because I went at an "off" hour: 3-3:30pm).  Instead, I got the Honey Roast Duck, which had a really good flavor and was plated really well.  It came with a small salad of lettuce and shredded carrots and a side sauce of jalepenos in soy sauce.  The one down side to the duck was that it was mostly skin and very little meat.

Because this place is so new, I've been the only person there both times I went.  I had the full attention of the two waiters, and I didn't have to wait very long to place my order or wait for the check once I was done eating (I wanted to get back to work quickly because I was on my lunch break).

I'd come here again, though probably later in the evening because I like sushi and want the sushi chef to be there.

My work orders delivery at this place alot.  They always come very quickly, the delivery person is extremely nice, and the food comes piping hot.

    What I've had so far:
    Appetizers:
    - samosa: i'm usually not a fan, so it seems normal
    - chicken satay kabob: a hit or miss.  The chicken is too dry for my liking and the last time, it was slightly sour.  But i love the peanut sauce.

    Thai:
    - curries: tasty enough for a work lunch, definitely gets me stuffed. A good amount of spiciness.
    - pad thai: lacks a bit in taste and they charge $2 extra for shrimp which is a bit much.
    - pad kee mao: too moist, almost as if it has been sat there for awhile (but it's delivery, so can't expect too much)

    Japanese (comes with miso soup):
    - the rolls are pretty much your typical mediocre rolls, nothing to rave about.  We get it because the only other choice we have is the ones at Safeway.  The raw fish seems fresh though.

Prices are typical of Thai places.  Based on the website, the ambiance of the place is not your hole in wall, so it's about $9-10 a plate which is justifiable.  This is a solid place to go to when you're sick of the the crappy clam chowders and overly priced foods in the area.
