Good food, friendly staff, and good service. We went there for brunch and had the Brooklyn and Italian Omelettes, both served with the house fries and toast, and they were quite good. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

I went for a breakfast and the server lady was really unwelcoming anyway its a diner but I was expecting a good food and average service I was true the service was average the most importantly the food was below average that I was not expecting I am not sure if I will be back or not or may be I will try them on some other time than breakfast (maybe they are sleepy)

Having had breakfast at the Empire Diner on Saturday and not having been thrilled with the eggs, I was hesitant to order another omelet in Jersey. My brother-in-law's family suggested this place, and I am happy that they did. I had the Greek omelet with spinach. I was really happy with the way the eggs were cooked -- perfectly. The server was really nice, the service was quick, and the food was great. I'd definitely come back.

Can you believe I've lived in the area for four years and never stepped foot in this diner? It's true.
(and the only reason I went was because Hwangbuja Tofu House was closed)
Basically your average diner. A plethora of breakfast, lunch, dinner items, all served 24 hours a day.
I had blue berry pancakes and homefries 11:30 at night. Reminds me of high school...

This place has greatly improved since high school. I boycotted it for awhile when I found a mosquito in my disco fries.. but alas it
is back up to standard diner potential. And I haven't died of West Nile.
The breakfast is awesome. I went with two other people and we all got omelets, home fries, and toast for under $15. I've gone during all times of day.. including after 12 and it never seems too busy. The waiters/waitresses know what they're doing and are usually on top of your order.
Sigh.. if only Boston knew how a real diner should operate. -

Considering I spent approximately three nights a week smoking parliament lights in a window booth here my senior year of high school and subsequent summers home during college, I feel like I OWE this diner at least three or four stars. I decided with four because maaaan they took alot of shit from us, as obnoxious high schoolers that were a liiiiiiiittle too drunk.
Go for the fries but don't stay too long or you will run into every deadbeat that you graduated with.Listed in: I Hate Bon Jovi

Montville Diner is a great place for a bite to eat. I've stayed nearby many times for business and i ALWAYS find my way back to this great diner. The service is quick and the food is awesome. I strongly recommend Montville Diner if you are cruisin down 46 in Pinebrook.
I wanted to add that this joint is open 24 hours... Came back from a night of drinking at this Irish pub and needed something to soak up the JD... Good ol Montville Diner came to the rescue.... And thank goodness i was not driving...... -

I lived in Montville for 4 years before relocating to South Florida. Better than average diner. Nothing super great, nothing super bad. Pretty darn consistent. I only had one negative experience here. I ordered an ice tea with my meal, and for whatever reason after a few refills, when I got the check they charged me for every refill. After asking for the manager, I got my check reduced.
The food is better than the personalities of the wait staff. Been here about 40+ times, and never had anyone serve me that had any type of personality. But the food is good, and for a diner, what more can you ask. Plenty of parking, although looking onto route 46 isn't exactly a breaktaking scene. -

I have always loved this place....I developed a slew of food allergies recently, n I cant indulge in all my delicious food yummies or regular food spots anymore. MD is TOTALLY accommodating, and prepare my food specifically for me...even when they're busy! Try the fried Zucch sticks...it was an old favie of mine!

What is a period of time in Montville without a visit to the diner? I enjoy the food! But like Lauren had said, you are certainly bound to run into tons of people that you don't especially want to see.

Pine Brook, NJ
This diner is just plain bad. The service is horrible. The owner has that "give me your money and get the hell out" attitude about him and doesn't seem to have any patience when it comes to you requesting things like water, napkins, etc. The food is bad for diner food, which in itself, is not meant to be really good. I stopped coming here after high school and usually frequent the Empire Diner. Every once in a while I get lazy and order from here, and every single one of those times I am reminded why I boycotted the Montville Diner in the first place. My advice, drive up rt.46 west for another mile and go to Empire.

Caldwell, NJ
Not bad. Good, sturdy diner food. The service was very good, but it should have been, seeing that we were the only party in the place at the time. All in all, it's worth another shot. Who knows. Maybe something on the menu will stand out.
