Had problems with my Mac, and called Computer Works. Talked to someone who was professional and knowledgeable. Dropped off the computer, got it diagnosed, but declined the repair. The experience was quick, easy, and painless.
They should have called me sooner and told me that the diagnosis was done, so my recommendation is for people to call them instead of waiting for a call if you have a computer in for repairs.
Also, while it was nice to see the employees wearing shirts with collars, I got the impression that they were a little on the sloppy side. Nothing that most people would consciously notice, I suppose, but it detracts from a professional image.
Final analysis: recommended.
First off, I bought one of their custom built machines, spent $2200. A week after the year warranty period is up, it won't start windows. I drop it off, and am told a tech should get back to me within a day or two. I call four days later, the guy answering the phone replies to me when i ask about it, "There's no Tech's in right now. You'll need to call back."
Okay...I call back the next day, get a different guy. he says, "Yeah, she's sick..who knows...you might want to try back later."
Two days later, I talk a tech. They have replaced my hard drive and reinstalled windows, and everything is booting up just fine.
I pick up the machine, pay $135, and take it home. It won't boot up. It might be the copy of Windows O/S they burned onto a disk and left in the drive.
The computer works for a month, and then it starts up again.
The guys who work there are rude and stoned half the time. The female tech is nice, but obviously overworked and surrounded by jerks.
I own a PowerMac G5 and about a year after I purchased it my wireless mouse broke so I called Computer Works to see if I would still have to bring in my entire computer. The person who answered the phone said no but when I got there the techs said that they need the entire computer in order to see if anything else is wrong with it. I was like, "are you kidding me?"
So I went back home to get my computer, brought it all the way back to the store and I waited for 3 days and did not receive a call regarding my computer. I called to check the status and they said it was ready and that there was nothing wrong with the computer. Luckily when I got there they had a brand new mouse for me. I WILL NEVER SET ONE FOOT IN THE STORE AGAIN. The employees are obviously too lazy to call customers when their computers are ready for pick up and the techs are rude and arrogant. BEWARE!

I refer people here to get their computers fixed quite a bit and I've never had any complaints. They fixed a fried logic board and some other issues I've had and have always been quite professional.
I would refer people there without hesitation.
Great store, great service, great owner...Sabrina rocks!!! She gave me fresh salmon her fisherman pops caught in Monterey Bay one day on my first visit to the store...that is good customer service!!! Anyway, I always go here to buy new macs or ipods, even though more convenient to shop online. I like to support the mom and pop stores, plus Sabrina rocks!!! Deals only in MAC products.
I bought my mac computer at this shop years ago and always went back to them when I needed to pick up mac accessories. I had always had a good experience with them until I purchased a bad ipod from this store (which I understand is not their fault). BUT, while working with them to help solve my broken ipod problem (wanting them to either replace or repair the ipod), I encountered some of the rudest employees. Since I was unable to get assistance from this shop, I decided to drive up to the Apple Store at Valley Fair Mall and they were able to help me get a replacement ipod while giving me great customer service.
