3 reviews for Montego Bay
I have been here twice, and I def agree that this is the "sketchy part of the islands." I was really disappointed bc this is right next to work and I was hoping it might be a nice place to detox after work or a place to meet ppl. Ummmm, noooo. Not unless I want to meet creepy men already drunk at 6pm.
The location is relaxing and the drinks are cheap :) Rum and coke was only $2.50 and it was pretty strong. So if I were invisible, I would go here (although there are probly more fun things for invisible ppl to do). But I am not invisible...so I have to deal with the 40+ yr old creepers that can see me and decide to approach me (even when I am on the phone!)
The food is decent, so it warrants a second star.
Somehow, yes, it is possible to be a dive and an oasis at the same time. It's not the menu, it's the venue - Silver Lake, that is. It's relaxing to sit out on the floating docks amid the misters and sip a mojito. There are DJs from Wild 101 who drop the beats after the dining hours.
Fish and chips are light and flaky halibut. The Montego chicken burger is a moist breast with pineapple. Kids will like the Kona chicken quesadilla. I wasn't impressed with the jerk shrimp.
There are certainly better island food options elsewhere in Boise. And Park Center lake is a little higher brow. But if you want to feel like you are in a sketchy part of the islands, this is the place to be.
Nice outdoor area, nice service and a great bar
