My experience with Dr. Stein and her excellent staff has compelled me to write my first "yelp" review, ever...I recently started a new job that involves a lot of standing. I quickly realized that my employment was being jeopardized by an extremely uncomfortable situation involving my lower back and numbness in my right foot. The only cure was sitting for a few minutes, but the symptoms would quickly return upon standing. I have had lower back issues in the past, but they usually involve pain after sitting down, not the reverse. Dr. Stein tried several methods and has almost completely relieved my symptoms in less than two months of weekly treatments. I have been treated by several chiropractors over the last 30 years, and would totally recommend Monta Vista to anyone and everyone. The entire staff is very professional, but at the same time personable and knowledgeable(and really nice).

My New Year's resolution is (apparently) to write more Yelp reviews.
I've been seeing Dr. Lisa and her very competent crew for over 5 years now. I always develop mid-upper back pain and sometimes neck pain (related to extensive mouse and keyboard usage at work). I keep it in check by visiting Monta Vista Family Chiropractic about once a month. In addition to adjusting my vertebrae, Dr. Lisa and her team are very thorough for check all parts of my body, including my ribs (I can always tell when I have a rib out of alignment, it's weird), arms, legs, feet, and more.
They are also very good at educating clients on what we can do to help reduce the number of office visits, including very specific stretches. I've learned so many different and new to me stretches that really work and make a difference. (Now, I just have to be more consistent in doing them *every* day...)
Also, Alissa is the BEST person to do soft tissue work on you. After years of working with Dr. Lisa, she has learned exactly where and how to work on a muscle and get it to loosen up. She has no formal massage training, but honestly, all professional massage therapists should take lessons from her. I even taught one of my favorite massage therapists where exactly to work on the muscles in the arm that uses a mouse in order to relieve pain and stress from mouse usage. Like most therapists, she works the underside of the lower arm, but where you really want work to be done is where the muscle attaches to the elbow on the other side. Or better yet, ask Alissa to show you.
One of my favorite anecdotes, however, was when Dr. Lisa agreed to talk with my Dad on the phone about the various shoulder and knee problems he has. He's on the older side and had never done chiropractic care before. But Dr. Lisa agreed to listen to him describing his type of pain and history with doctors to treat his ailments (arthritis and bursitis in particular) and recommend for him the types of doctors he should reach out to and give recommendations for a knee specialist, etc. My Dad (who has a very good BS detector) was very impressed after talking with her on the phone that in addition to following her recommendations, he decided to come in for a proper visit. He has been back several times since then.
This is a great office and everyone is a professional, but also have a lot of fun. I love their good natured attitudes and love for life and good health. Thank you everyone! -

I've been going to Monta Vista for about 9 months and I've been very happy with the care, so much so that I've recommended coworkers and my mademoiselle!
I was impressed from the get-go, as my first appointment was a very comprehensive (highly scientific) evaluation of my spine, posture, range of motion, etc. Then based on those test results they recommended coming in 2x a week for 6 weeks after which I was free to choose to continue as often as I saw fit!!
Each time, I learned more about my body, which muscles were spasming, causing headaches or back pain, which stretches to do to relax things and generally how to heal myself! Dr. Lisa even did an evaluation of my posture in my car (I commute!), and got me setup with an inflatable pillow to help fix things!!

I LOVE MONTE VISTA CHIROPRACTIC!
Dr. Lisa's care has been amazing. I've been seeing a chiropractor off and on since the age of 12 and I can truly attest to the exceptional service I've received under her care.
My favorite part of Dr. Lisa's treatment is that she always makes me feel like my adjustments are for long term health benefits and not, "quick fixes" to collect my insurance money. She truly cares about how I feel day in and day out and seeks out options to help me feel my best.
The staff also ROCKS! Honestly, I've never been treated so well at any other doctors offices. Sometimes you might get a great doctor, or great staff, but never both. Each one of them is extremely knowledgeable, flexible with my appointment times, and really cares about my health like I'm their only patient!
I can't say enough good things. If you're not convinced I don't know what else to tell you. You should absolutely make Monte Vista Chiropractic your chiropractor of choice. -

Lisa Stein is a great chiropractor. She listens a lot and gives very interesting advices. One day I came with a new problem that started in my lower back and was migrating slowly toward the front. Lisa told me after a few minutes that I most likely had the shingles although no skin problems were showing yet. To the doctor I went who confirmed LIsa's diagnosis. In summary, my shingles was diagnosed in its very early stages and I was not inconvenienced for long. Had Lisa not suspected shingles, I would have waited another week to see a doctor and my shingles case would have taken much longer to recover from.
Lisa and her very capable crew (Alissa comes to mind) are great! I always look forward going there.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Lisa is one of the most attentive and caring practitioners I've ever had. She spends the time to listen to what you say and asks very pointed questions to determine your problem. On several occasions Dr Stein was able to help people that I referred to her that no one other Chiropractor was able to help. She and her staff are terrific!

I am surprised there is only one review for Monta Vista Chiropractic because Dr. Lisa is a miracle worker! I have returned to the practice after she cured me the first time from a bad shoulder five years ago. That's right, no problems at all for five years and then, a neck flare up sent me back to her for a new miracle. After living with the pain for more than 6 months, she has me back on my game in 6 weeks. And she accepts all types of insurance. The whole staff is awesome. I highly recommend Dr. Lisa Stein and Monta Vista Chiropractic Care!!!

Dr. Lisa Stein is a special Doctor who is important in my life and I highly recommend her because she is simply an amazing Doctor. Although I thought I was 'allergic' to chiropractors due to a very bad experience about 25 years ago, I took a chance with Dr. Lisa. I had knots in my neck and shoulders from years of ergonomic damaged caused by working on a computer. Dr. Lisa examined X-Rays with me and explained what she saw in both medical and layman terms. She accurately diagnosed my condition and put a recovery plan together. She provided guidance on workmen compensation issues so that I knew how that process works. She and her staff made sure I knew how to do my exercises at home. In particular, I like the way Dr. Lisa runs her practice. She is always on schedule so she is respectful of my time. My body bruises very easily from deep tissue massage. Dr. Lisa has always been careful to make sure her staff is aware and does not hurt me. Dr. Lisa really knows the skeletal structure and can locate areas that need work. She is so strong, but never hurts me. Dr. Lisa uses an on-line patient intake summary system so my case file tracks my progress. Her reports that follow after 6 visits are very useful. In summary, if you are looking for a top-notch skillful chiropractor, your search is over. You found her.
