Many years ago, I had sworn never to attend any of those damn timeshare presentations, so when someone called me a few days ago claiming we had won some damn prize, I was again skeptical. After I gathered all the details from the woman on the phone, I asked her if this is for a timeshare. She dodged my question.

OK, I asked hubby what we should do. Since we weren't doing anything, we went.

I was right. It was for a timeshare. They promised us the presentation would be 90 mins long. An hour and a half. I can deal with that. We were seated and the person giving the intro was an Asian whose first language was not English. OK, I'm cool with that.... except.... she was talking 100 miles per minute and I was really getting tired trying to decipher her presentation. I started tuning out pretty quickly.

We were then shown a video, lasted about 15 mins, then returned to the presenter. A few minutes later, she brought out her manager. Geez, I was familiar with the drill. This American lady was pretty on the ball. She was quick to ask us if this was something we wanted. I think she realized that we were only there for the freebie and had no interest in purchasing. She gave us a quick rundown and then I asked for a few minutes.

I pondered with hubby that the price was really reasonable. Not like any of the timeshares from previous years. They also didn't require you to take your vacation on a certain date every year which is a huge plus. But seriously, I'm not the timeshare type of person.

I flagged down our original presenter told her we're not interested. She then brings us another person. Another ESL person. By now I'm getting really annoyed. From 90 mins, we're now venturing into the 3 hour mark. What part of "not interested" did she not comprehend?

Really... the man came over and offered a package which was $5000 less than the original one offered by the American lady. NOT INTERESTED. Then he started seriously pissing me off by telling me what he thought vacations are like, what he thought I would like etc etc.

FUCK THAT SHIT.

Not interested means not interested. The fact that I even gave them 2 stars is the fact that their package was a good deal. However, negative stars for the constant hounding and just not accepting that no means no.

And also, please just tell people it's for a time share. That way, I wouldn't have gone in the first place even though the freebies sounded promising. Don't pretend it's not a time share and then it really is. That annoys me even more.
