Review from Steve J.

Pros: Cheap, tater tots, relatively freindly staff, fairly fast, and open seating.
Cons: Grease burps for a little while after and a little need for better interior.
We always stop here when we try to whack some Gobblers for a fast and cheap snack.
Never thought I was going to get a Kobe Beef burger here or a 80/20 sirloin masterpiece. But I have never spent more than 5 bucks here either. I have never gone into this place with any preconceived notions on what I was going to get. And so far I haven't been disappointed by what I ate. Standard fare of burgers and fries, but you can get Tater Tots instead also...big plus for me.
The nostalgia of the place brings me back to childhood memories of small cafe's that served a couple of things...all covered in grease. Helps with the food sliding down your throat, not so much with digestion as the burps attest to. -

By virtue of existing as a peculiar staple of my childhood, Mom's Snak Shak (formerly Peggy's Snak Shak, ostensibly until Peggy passed away and the restaurant became the responsibility of her children), deserves its three stars.
Childhood staple aside, Mom's Snak Shak is a very bizarre, even somewhat David Lynchian, hole-in-the-wall dinerish place nestled into a strip mall in Creswell, Oregon (and historically it takes awhile to get what you order) so I should really rank it accordingly.
But no, I will give it three stars based entirely upon the absolutely life-altering blackberry milkshakes available at Mom's. Everything else -French fries, burgers, sandwiches- are standard if somewhat sub-par, but the milkshakes are bliss in a gigantic styrofoam cup! A must on road trips, day trips, picnics, nostalgic wanderings through my pseudo-hometown.
In closing, if you even remotely like milkshakes, you absolutely must go to Mom's at least once. It is just off I-5 in sleepy podunk Creswell. The wait is worth it. You'll be in heaven.Listed in: I'm In The Middle Of Nowhere
