mmmm good ole momos. love their pizza and yes the slices are as big as ur head.

AND to all those haters who dont think its good thats fine but dont hate on those of us who do.

So momos is an amazing pizza place where they make pizzas so big it astonishing. u can go in on any day and see the guys tossing dough with there entire arms. the pizzas are HUGE!... they are a thinner crust hand tossed type.

The service at momo's is just quick and easy as it should be. u go up to the counter put in your order get a drink and sit and wait till they bring out ur slice, slices, or more to u.

My personal fav. at Momo's is sausage and mushroom. but they have plenty of other combinations that u would find at any pizza place..

This is just a great hang out spot to stop off and have a slice. great food great prices. A must try.

It might be a little bit of college nostalgia...but...I miss Momo's! (Not as much as I miss Gordo's or Booty Breaks at Stetson's...but that's another story for another time).

It's probably just memories of a simpler time. Momo's is definitely simple. Big flat slice, whatever toppings you want, nothing too gourmet or mind-blowing...but good, hot, fast, relatively cheap, and close to campus. You can watch the guys slinging the dough and pulling the giant pies in and out of the oven which is pretty neat. It's definitely somewhere in between Pokey Stix and tailgating in my fondest memories...and the next time I'm back in Tally I'll be sure to stop.

Yes, yes, yes slices as big as your head.  But, actually not that tasty.  Kinda floppy, kinda, soggy, kinda nasty.  Oh, hell no!
The only time I ever had a decent pie was dining in and sharing a whole pie with others, and still then it was decent.  Maybe that is how Decent Pizza was started.  Oh no, drama!
This place blasts at max volume the most horrid Southern Rock and Hippie Anthems.  Since when did frat boys listen to the same music as my parents?

Want some good pizza in Tallacrappy?  Barnaby's or Village Pizza.  You live in Florida and don't have a car to get there, and have to eat on campus?  That's a sad story.

I LOVE MOMO'S ....with slices as big as your head! no joke!!!

This was one of the first places we ate when we moved to Tallahassee....de-lish....

i get the slice with sun dried tomatoes, feta, spinach, and red onions.....yum yum yuuuuuuuuuuum .....it's ridiculously good....so good that even halfway through it, when you think you'll explode if you take another bite, you have to keep on truckin' through it.....

although I must say, it's just as good heated up the next day....

oh ....failed to mention you can get a large pizza TO GO for less than you can get one at pizza hut or some other crappy pizza joint and it's like 3 times the size.....no brainer....

I've since moved back to Texas....living in Austin....and I would LOVE it if momo's sent one of its awesome pizza maker guys to open a shop here...

no, no, no.

I think the people that rate this place highly must:

1) not really like pizza
2) not ever actually had good pizza
3) be impressed by the huge size of the slices
4) lack taste buds

momo's works on the premise that excesses in quantity will cover absolute lack of quality.  I guess judging by the reviews, they're right.

the slices are huge.  and they're pre-baked entire pies onto which your choice of toppings are piled then covered with a sprinkling of additional mozzarella and thrown into an oven on top of the charred remains of the cheese that's melted off the previous slices.

the alternative is when they bake just the pizza 'shells' (the crusts) then cut them and sauce and cheese them when you order.

so no matter what, part of your slice will be stale/old/unappetizing.

I mean, do you really think they're making an entire pizza when you order then giving you just the slice?

and the dough is bad.  in an effort to make the pizza itself as large around as possible, they stretch the dough to a thickness through which you could read.  which means you're not picking it up with your hand, especially after it's been allowed to stale, and they've let the sauce soak in for a few hours.  no thanks.

if you order a whole pie just for your party, you do avoid the freshness issues that plague the slices.  but you're still stuck with the dough issues.  yes, the pie is huge.  I don't want a huge pile of crap to eat, either.

I could go on...but basically, if you'd take mcdonalds over, say, a burger from blt prime (or the steak shack, or wherever), and you think the only thing that makes mcdonalds less than perfect is that you can't get MORE OF IT IN THE BAG TO GORGE ON, DAMMIT, momo's is the place for you.

I wouldn't even eat there if it was free.  it's just that bad.  if you're at the market square location, go to village pizza, it's a few hundred yards behind the momo's to the north.  if you're at the campus momo's, guthrie's is just west of you, and if you have to have pizza, gumby's is certainly better (and some nights, they're almost giving the pies away) and just as walkable from campus.  if you're not a student, go to leaning tower pizza over on apalachee parkway.

do not go to decent pizza.  decent pizza isn't.  it's momo's on monroe.  seriously.  same exact place, different name.

I'm really not a fan of Momo's but I respect it. If your a pizza person it's very mediocre but I can see how for Tallahassee it's great. There's isn't much pizza around here that's great and the ones that are may be out of the ball park for students.

It's a gimmicky slice that's huge. The atmosphere is pretty cool and the workers are awesome. They often run out of ingredients because it's so busy which is good because its fresh and bad because you preferred that on your slice.

I think everybody who visits Tallahassee should at least go there once for the sake of doing it.

I agree with most of what the other reviewers say -- this is about as good as it gets for Tallahassee standards and when you're looking for a traditional hand tossed pizza.  It's the closest thing in Florida (well at least Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville areas) to the New York slices I grew up eating.  The slices are great, the staff is excellent and the vibe is cool.  I give it five stars for Tally, probably four when comparing to places up north.

I'm not quite sure what high-end places that "may be out of the ball park for students" other than when Cafe Cabernet used to offer personal pizzas, but I still haven't found anything in town that I like better.

Tallahassee sucks, plain and simple. that city is shit. however, there are a couple places that could trick you into thinking otherwise, one of which is momo's pizza.

they don't play shitty music (at least not very often), the people that work there are great, and the prices are super reasonable for the ridiculous amount of pizza one gets.

if you ever find yourself in tallahassee for any reason, you should do two things:
1. pray to sweet baby jesus that he take your life immediately to spare you from any more time in that god awful city..
2. while you wait for the impending sweet release of death, grab a slice and a beer at this spot.

I love the hole in the wall atmosphere at Momo's, it always made me feel comfortable. I could go into this place sweaty after working out (that was rare) and not get horrid glares from customers/workers.

Their slogan, "Slices as big as your head" is absolutely correct. They are HUGE and very cheap for the amount you're getting. I will say though, it was never my favorite pizza place, it was just always conveniently close to my apartment.

MoMo's is some of the best pizza in the country. Slices as big as your head with high quality ingredients and very reasonable prices. The staff plugs their own iPods into the sound system; always rock (usually punk, power ballads, sometimes metal). Fun to watch them make the huge pizzas and definitely a must-do in Tallahassee!

Got the extra large pizza (pepperoni) for 4 people mostly because we wanted to see how big it would be.  It was larger than my two year old niece.  By far.  And she's tall for her age, too.

I thought the pizza was fantastic -- thin crust, delicious cheese, excellent pepperoni.  It also tasted good cold the next day for lunch.  And dinner.  And lunch the next day.  And dinner.  And a late night snack.  All for $30!

Went in to order a large pizza to go.  The wait time was less than ten minutes and the service friendly.

The pizza itself was as they advertise, huge.  The slices really are as big as your head!  Tasted very good and you can taste that they use fresh ingredients including the toppings and crust.

There is parking in the front.  The place has a casual, college-town feel.  Recommend this place for a good slice of pizza and a casual, quick meal.

You can see their menu on their website which includes prices.

They don't accept AMEX but they do accept other credit cards.

They're open 7 days a week.

Honestly, I've had a hard time finding good pizza in Tallahassee. Momo's was a welcome find . The slices are as big as your head, and they are delicious! At lunchtime, it's $5+ for a slice and a soda. Great stuff. It's a reall hole-in-the-wall kind of place, so if you're looking for a nicer atmosphere, this is not the place for you. However, the staff is always cool and it's a real college hangout.

Momo's is decent pizza.  It's not going to change your life or anything, but you can count on it to be good.  It's a cheap, dive-y local college joint, so the atmosphere is fun.  Was pretty impressed with the customer service too; although I bit into an accidental meat on my cheese slice, when I took it back in horror and explained that I'm a vegetarian, they apologized profusely, got me a new slice, and sent me back with an extra free one.  Overall, probably the best pizza I've had in Tally. Stop cooking your cheese and meat pizza on one pie though!

Momo's is very cheap, very quick and has the BIGGEST slice of pizza you will find ANYWHERE!  I am from the Boston area, but man do I wish I could hop a plane for the afternoon and snag some Momo's.  Watch out FSU students, this place is a killer on the freshman 15....

Hole in the wall, one-of-a-kind pizzeria right across from FSU.  I lived here for 4 years!  One of the top 5 best pizza's I've ever had and trust me, I've had a shitload of pizza!  Also a good value, at $2.50 a slice (and they're friggin huge!)
