"This is the best burger joint I've even went to! The decor is downright "dope" with all the urban paintings and the overall industrial look.…" read more »
I was not impressed with this fast food joint at all. It was my first time to try their burgers and I must say, they were too dry! no juicyness in their burgers at all! Which explains why they slathered so much ketchup, mustard, and mayo. The taste was there since they do charbroiled their burgers. Premium Angus Beef? That's a BIG question!... As for their fries? They were ok. I especially liked it when my cousin asked about their mac -n- cheese. The cashier leaned over to us and whisperd "it's Kraft" with a derogatory look on her face. I give them a second star for honesty.

It was ok. For what I spent I should have driven to Kirk's. I've been sick all week and I was craving a JUICY burger and Mojo's missd the mark. I will try again.

Burgers GOOD! Prices medium.
My tax guy is around the corner, he told me "you are a fat boy like me, you outta give em a try"
Every Thursday their parking lot is full of vintage hot rods.
So I thought Local, Hot Rods, Fat Boy. I am IN.
And it is a great local burger joint. No fast food chain here (yet!)
Unlike some of the other reviews I have read, the counter staff have been wonderful friendly every time I go in. The burgers taste like a burger should. The fries are fine, the onion rings are my favorite.
I understand some folks opinion that $8 is too high for burger/fries/soda combo. And they may be right. But then again, I am willing to pay a little more, every so often, as a treat.
If their prices were lower? I would definitely come in more
my pescaterian (that's veggie but eats fishies) wife likes their grilled cheese sammich.
I will go back here often.
This place would have potential to be the best but it's way too expensive! Lower the prices a little bit guys, I know most people in Willow Glen can afford it but I can't! The fry's suck, too... BUT the meat in the burgers is some of the best I've had. They need more options, though.... I prefer Kirk's Steakburger on Bascom.

Two stars because its not terrible but everything costs too much for what it is. The burger is a frozen patty from Meyer ranch so that means its organic and all beef, but I still got those rubbery particles bouncing around between my teeth that means they are grinding sinew and connective tissue with muscle and fat. I am a meatcutter so you can't fool me. Meyer or not frozen beef patties are mostly the same I don't know how they got all those plaques on the wall for best this and best that. My burger was also overcooked and the onion rings were greasy and tasteless and the coke was a little flat. I had to try it once and so I did. Now you don't have to.
My darling BF works right down the street at Willow Glen Elementary so we stopped by here for a quick bite to eat during his lunch break. The joint was relatively empty at 11:30 on a Friday, with easy parking and plenty of seats. The cheeseburger was super delicious. Cooked to perfection, the patty was the right thickness, the condiment:burger ratio was dead on. I prefer shredded lettuce to the leaf, so they post big points for that one. I didn't know until I read it on Yelp that the beef was organic. No wonder the burgers are so yummy! I didn't think the prices were that bad. A combo was around $7.50. Free refills on the sodas.
I would give them five stars, but the fries kind of tasted like the grease they were fried in. Call me crazy, but every once in a while I like my french fries to taste like a potato instead of dirty Crisco. Oooo... that'd be a great nice for an alt punk band. Dirty Crisco. Anyway... I digress.

Hate the burgers. Love the freedom from my kid when we're there.
They run around, watch the TVs and enjoy some freedom without the lameness of MickyD's or the stuffiness of The Counter.
The salads suck the wonker, but I hear the burgers are good.

Good place to grab a burger in a Willow Glen strip mall at Bird and Minnesota. Kids eat free on Wednesdays! I had the #1 combo (burger, fries, drink). A little high maybe at $7.50 but it was pretty good. Everything tasted really fresh. They definitely use high quality beef. When we got there it was very crowded but then it thinned out. Definitely a lot of kids running around!
If you live near by, this is a great place to have a local burger. The entire complex itself feels a little deserted however when Fresh & Easy neighborhood market moves in it will be much more happenin.
In any case, we walked in and the girl could tell right away we've never been there before so she went through everything on the menu Mojo, MiniMo, Chicken sand (with pineapple and teriyaki) etc. She was quite pleasant and very helpful, I mean not that there is a lot to explain but still I appreciated the run down. We went with the Mojo Burgers with cheese and substituted chili fries and onion rings. The burgers were fresh, tasty and quite large. The onion rings were cooked just right with the perfect onion/batter balance. The chili fries, well, they were chili fries not bad or good just chili fries. If you are a couple, I recommend 1 person getting the meal and the other getting a Mojo or Mini Mo. 2 meals is quite a bit of food even for my not so dainty self and if your man is nice enough you can share the side order ;-)
I will likely make this my on the way home or it's 1pm my hangover is beginning to subside and I'm ready for a big fat juicy burger place. Oh yeah and they do have flat screen tv's for kids and 1 for adults which is nice.
*please someone out there in yelp land, can we do something about these crazy people who post for different locations and somehow think it's relevant? if you're going to take the time to post, pick the right location!
We decided to give Mojo a try after seeing an ad in Metro magazine with a coupon for a free mini mojo burger. When we arrived, Mrs. Mojo greeted us and told us about the pork plate that was on special, but we had our hearts set on burgers. We decided on 2 mini mojo's, and a double mojo with cheese meal, with chocolate shake. All were delicious. This is a great restaurant choice for kids. They have a kids table set up and 4 flat screens which play cartoons. My son enjoyed eating his mini mojo and fries, while watching Spongebob.
They use Meyer Natural Angus beef, which contains no antibiotics, preservatives or added hormones. It makes for a delicious tasting burger! It was also interesting to find out that for thier chicken sandwiches, they use "Happy Dan" chicken from Martinelli Farms. The animals are treated humanely and allowed to live in a natural environment. They use dutch crunch bread from Le Boulanger Bakery for thier chicken sandwich. Thier fries are made from freshly cut potatoes, which taste way better than the frozen kind.

It seems as if the quality of Mojo Burger's cheeseburgers has deteriorated since their opening. I would look forward to eating food bought at Mojo Burger when my mom arrived home, with the sweet, greasy smell of the food, but now it seems as if I reluctantly eat it.
"You know, that wasn't very satisfying," my mom said after we finished our burgers. "You know what? That's just what I was thinking!" I said to her. It was then that we decided never to eat there again.

The best burgers in San Jose!! I am a convert from In 'N Out - the Mojo burgers are super fresh from the bun to the meat to the veggies. And the hand-cut fries are tasty. Though I haven't tried them, I hear that the onion rings are also great.
They have two flat-screen TV's tuned to the Cartoon Network hung above a little counter for the youngsters and lots of seating inside and out. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The slightly higher price is definitely worth the increased quality in the food. Check it out!
i came here because of a coupon in the metroactive & remembered there were some good reviews about this place, so i went here with my boyfriend today.
the coupon says that i get one free minimo w/ cheese if a mojo meal is purchased.
my boyfriend & i walked in here, & my boyfriend's first words were, "the menu looks just like mcdonalds." & yes, it did, but even more expensive.
it was a steep $8.54 for a combo mojo burger w/ cheese meal (fries & drink) with the free minimo. me & my boyfriend wanted everything in it (lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo) except onions.
when we got our meal, there were onions in his burger & mine was just a straight up cheeseburger (no lettuce tomato) that i could've gotten 2 at mcdonald's for the price of $1.
taste was typical burgerness... definitely not worth the price as there are WAY better burger places out there for cheaper.
the burgers here are very good.
with that said, they are just too expensive.
for the price i'd rather go to the counter in santana row or maybe save a few bucks and go to in and out.
update:
i came here the day after halloween with the worst hangover of my life and i swear to god the cheeseburger i ate like a starving african child cured it and restored me to normal. therefore i award them an additional star.

Best burgers in San Jose IMHO. I also love the onion rings they have there. They've got hot dogs too, so my daughter's happy. The service is good, they'll help you with the menu if you've never been there before (not that it's that complicated) the lady who's often there is a treat. As others have mentioned, the prices are a little higher, but I'm sure the ingredients (beef) they use is way more expensive...it's still cheaper than a restaurant burger. I wish this place was closer to where I live, of course then I'd eat there way too often
Love the food, hate the price. Try to avoid the chicken sandwich or you'll scrape your mouth up. The burgers are good though and the fries are salty. It's so close to my house I don't have to use gas to get there so I can afford the high prices. Everyone! please go there so they can lower the prices.
Mojo Burger is quickly becomming one of my favorite places! It's so quick and convienient!
I'm a vegetarian and LOVE that they offer garden burger or boca burger substitutions for any of their burgers! It is a healthy alternative to fast food fat! I think their choice to carry vegetarian alternatives is very forward thinking on their part! I recommend substituting a garden burger with their Hawaiian sandwich (dutch crunch roll, teriyaki sauce, and pineapple!).
I totally disagree that Mojo Burger is over-priced, especially since the only place to really get a garden burger around here is at a sit down restaurant. You could easily get a garden or boca burger for under $5 in around 10 minutes. So I can still grab lunch and enjoy the rest of my lunch break!
The only downfall is that it is super noisy. This is partially because it is always busy but there is also competing noises from all the television screens AND music. I love that there are built in televisions for children, mostly because I love the simple, contemporary design. But if you aren't planning to sit down and stay, it's a great take out restaurant.
If you ARE planning to chill, I recommend taking your ipod and facing the "kiddie wall"- cartoons are always better than soaps! It's also a fun place to visit during the classic car shows in the parking lot- which is about all the action that plaza really sees these days!

Listen, don't complain about the price. You know why? The burgers are certified organic with no antibiotics and no hormones. It also raised humanely, open range, grass-fed in Montana. You know how the motto goes... you get what you pay for. Ask any other restaurant serving "gourmet" burgers and you'll not get a clear answer of where that meat came from.
So to spare the hippy talk... the burgers are fantastic, the fries are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Haven't tried anything else because this is a burger joint... so I go here to get burgers.
Burger was just ok...and a little on the expensive side. Good for kids cause it has little chair lined up against a wall with tv's playing cartoons.
As Niki said, better than McDonalds (and perhaps better than Burger King but the Jury is still out)... but not as good as In&Out with which is shares many traits.
I had a Mojo Burger w/ cheese and bacon. I was told that they would cook it to order, so I asked for medium rare. It was cooked well done and slightly dry, which I am thinking is the norm as my girlfriend's was the same way (and she asked for medium rare as well) The beef tasted pretty similar to In&Out, as did the cheese and bacon.
all regular, nothing outstanding.
The veggies were fresh enough (it's not hard to have decent lettuce and tomato). As for condiments mayo anbd ketsup. Not so special sauce(s)...
Oh yeah, I would like my Bun toasted too.
The fries: again similar to in&out. Cut pieces of potato, not mashed or double fried. They were soggy and lacking taste. Some were crispy, and at least they weren't greasy.
While not expensive, at their prices, I expected a step up which I didn't exactly find.
If you bought a double mojo w/ cheese meal for 9.69 you are paying almost as much as a burger and fries at Paragon which is a much nicer place.
There was nothing to bring it above three stars...
oh... and the workers were uninterested and a bit slow...

Disappointed!!!
There's a Mojo Burger on Santa Teresa and Snell and I thought that I would try it since I heard so many good reviews on City Search. I was suprised when my boyfriend and I were the only ones there on a Friday night, which was a red flag. If it's that good, then it should be packed! I ordered the Mojo Cheeseburger meal which seemed pricy at $7.89. I thought for $7.89, they would at least ask me how I like my burger, but nope. If I wanted avocado, it would be anohter 80 cents. My bf ordered the double cheeseburger meal at $9.69. Both our burgers were overcooked, dry, and charred. The fries were decent but I still like my in-n-out fries. There's nothing special about the burgers here. It really should not deserve all the awards from City Search. I'm not sure about the Mojo Burger on Bird Avenue in Willow Glen, but I highly do not recommend going to the one on Snell Avenue on San Jose. To top it off, the shake machine was broken, another red flag because I usually have a shake with my hamburger. I still prefer my favorite $6 dollar burgers from Carl's Jr., in-n-out, and taxi's hamburger

Awesome.
Took some friends from out of town after seeing it on Eye on the Bay.
Burger was outstanding. Fries were perfect.
Ok, guys, I am a transplant from Texas. I still don't get the fascination over In & Out Burger. The fries there are absolutely terrible.
I have taken a number of out-of-towners (from all over) to In & Out for the experience and they all say the fries suck.
So for a reviewer to compare Mojo with In & Out is nutz.
Mojo uses Angus Beef. And fresh cut fries with skin on. And great bread from a local bakery.
Sorry guys, but Mojo is really great.
Yes it is expensive. I won't go there all the time due to the expense. But I will be back :-)
better than mickey d's, but a far cry from in&out. it's located in an obscure shopping center that used to house an albertson's. the albertson's is no more, but mojo burger remains.
i tried the mini-mo which comes only with cheese, pickles, ketchup & mustard..but i swapped out the fries for a side salad (99 cents more) and used those veggies to supplement. (i like my burger with plenty of fixings). all in all, it was an ok result. their "hormone free angus beef" patty was tasty but nothing to drop over dead for. the bun was fresh, but i prefer mine toasted.
the space itself is pretty nice by burger joint standards. they have a large flat screen and also two mini-flats at the kiddie counter. it doesn't make me want to eat in, but it's a nice added touch.
would i go back: probs..want to try their breakfast offerings and also their chili!
Mojo Burger is awesome. It's a step up from "fast food" like In-n-Out or BK, etc. I actually like it much better than In-n-Out and trust me, I'm a burger snob!
Mr & Mrs Mojo are usually there and will stop by your table if you're eating in to make sure your food is 100% because if not, they'll remake it for you. I've never had to take them up on that offer since it's always been great. When you pick up take out, they tell you to call if your food is not perfect.
They use all Meyer Natural Angus beef which has no antibiotics, preservatives or added hormones. It makes the burgers are juicy, not greasy.
They're on the corner of Minnesota and Bird.
