I remember the first time I tried Moe's Southwest Grill. I was living in Chattanooga, TN at the time. It was so good that I went back 3 more times that same week. And the great thing about Moe's is that no matter what city or state I am in- I know I can get a great burrito with free chips and very good salsa.

I get so sick of local people complaining about Moe's and Qdoba, and then trying to tell you that Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn is so much better. That's one of the funnier things I've heard. Moe's has amazing burritos, they use a high grade of meat, and their Queso is amazing. Its one of those places where you don't want to have to choose between a burrito or nachos- you just want both! The "who is kaiser salsa" is incredible as is the "tomatilla". I could go on and on, because burritos are my first food love, and Moe's is hard to top.

Eat at this Moe's or any other and you won't be disappointed!

    "We want Mexican."
"But we are South of the Mason Dixon Line and as far East of Mississippi as we can go."
"We don't care.  We are tired and hungry and want a burrito."

The kids on the trip with me were born in LA.   Comfort food for them includes eggs, sausage, and pancakes as well as burritos and taquitos.  I remembered seeing  a Moe's out of the corner of my eye driving around here.....so away we went mostly because I have never tried a Moe's before.

What a pleasant surprise.   There are a number of fast food, make it your own way restaurants now......Baja Fresh, Qdoba, Moe's, etc.   Is this going to be just another carbon copy.    NO.   Thank you.

Moe's has a slight edge over the other good Mexican chains because it has bolder  and more authentic spices (I detech more cumin and chili powder in their rice as well as grilled meats).

    1.  The steak burrito was very tasty, more so than Qdoba or Baja Fresh.   Instead of white cilantro rice used in Qdoba, they used spiced Mexican rice.
    2.  The nachos were as good as any other fast food Mexican restaurant.  The cheese was real cheese.

Overall, the mexican rice pushed Moe's over the rest of it's competition.   4 solid stars.

Moe's is the Widespread Panic of burritos. Ubiquitous, consistent, mildly pleasing to all, and not doing anything that ain't been done better by somebody else.

    I still like it, though.

I would like to just say that I am currently in love with this particular Moe's location because it was clean, the food was delicious (as all Moe's are), and mainly because the staff was SO friendly.  How often do you find a restaurant employee that genuinely looks happy to be there, likes people, and isn't faking?

Anyways, the food was as good here as at all other Moe's I've ever been, which always keeps me coming back.  But for a beach location I just had to review it for the fact of how clean the store was and how nice the staff was.  If I had been the one working on a GORGEOUS beach day I'm not sure I could've been so excited to be there serving others (blame it on the only child-ness).

Moes can be surmised in one word, meh.

Its not the worst place that I have ever been to...

For the price, you can get a lot more bang for your buck elsewhere.

I love Moe's nachos!  They're great because their queso is great, and for some reason the mix of queso and fancy shredded cheese makes for a perfect cheese combination.  This place is very similar to Qdoba (R.I.P.), kind of similar to Chipotle (not here), and not as good as Baja Fresh (not here).  But please, for the love of FSM, why eat burritos here?  Flaming Amys is just down the street from the Oleander location, and well worth the 10 minute drive from this location.  Their burritos/salsa bar are about 10,000 times better.

The place looks cool, and like Chipotle you order your food at the "bar" and watch it go through a gauntlet of people.  I had the steak burrito while my partner had the same with chicken.  Both were okay, and my steak had some fat.  Plus, the guacamole wasn't as good as I've had elsewhere.  The chips were very good (in my opinion).  The salsa bar had one or two surprises, but the rest were typical.  Friendly service.
