Recently, during a hard down pour, I was sitting in my living room when I heard two loud pops coming from the dining room. I turned around and looked and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. It wasn't until later when I got up and was walking through the dining room that I discovered what the loud pops where from - my hardwood floor had popped up in two places causing a severe "buckle" in the floor.
I found Scott online and called him and he came over and assessed the damage. He was knowledgable, super nice and said he could repair the damage at a very reasonable price.
We set a date and time and he arrived right on time. He was well prepaired and repaired my hardwoods in under two hours!
Scott was very professional and I would not only use him again but also recommend him to anyone who needs assistance with their hardwood floors. -

I feel a little bit uncomfortable writing this review; because, previously I had read the reviews, which all gave 5 stars each (it was these Yelp reviews that made me call this guy to redo my flooring!).
He showed up at my house, and we had some discussion about alternative colors & types of wood flooring... etc. I spent about 30 minutes to show him all 5 rooms in mly house that needed new flooring. He took some measurements and made notes; also, he promised to get back to me with an estimate...He never did! I did not understand what was going on; and, I will never know since he never called me back.

When the hubby and I bought our house I set out to find a "green" hardwood refinishing company to help us with our scratched and stained oak and pine floors. I was looking for a company who could provide us with a healthy alternative to the chemicals and dust that refinishing hardwoods often leave behind. I searched the local sustainable business guide and called the one company listed. Fortunately for us they could not meet our time frames, so they referred us to Scott with Modern Tech Floors. Serendipity.
Right away Scott blew me away with his knowledge of wood. He has a passion for his craft and gave us many different options of sustainable refinishing methods. He uses dustless sanders to make sure and keep the air quality of your home at its best. He was very quick and efficient when working with our short time lines and the finished floors are gorgeous.
Since working with Modern Tech Floors in my own home, I have referred them to some of my clients, all of whom have been very happy with their work.
I would highly recommend Scott and Modern Tech Floors to anyone who is looking for a healthy alternative to hardwood refinishing. -

I am a remodeling contractor, so I have seen the good and the bad in terms of flooring contractors and Scott is by far the most knowledgeable Wood Floor Professional I have encountered.
Modern Tech Floors has done the floors in my own home as well as several of my customers homes. In each case the results have been outstanding.

Scott and his team at Modern Tech Floors are great. They are professional, show up on time, are clean, and trustworthy.
They refinished the original fir floors in the upstairs of our 1919 four-square. They were super clean, prompt and did a fabulous job. They were very accommodating and made a change in the middle of the work when we decided to use a different finish that would amber a bit more to keep the original look of the aged wood. Scott and I talked a couple of times as we worked through the choice of finish. They really worked with our schedule and were super clean.
We will be using Scott and Modern Tech Floors in the future for our stairway (redwood), and main floors (oak) once we are done with the rest of the work we need to do in the house. I highly recommend Scott and his team.

Restoration and refinishing of hardwood floors. We consider ourselves to be specialists in old homes and salvaged materials, especially fir flooring. We work with a number of wood floor finishes. We feel this is the biggest area for deception by some contractors and we try to greatly explain all of your options for finish instead of market you what is a less than quality product.

Established in 2002
We started in the craft of wood floors because our interest was in providing a quality product that was visible. At the inception of the business, we began training with the National Wood Flooring Association. We have taken multiple technical courses as well as volunteering our time to teach when possible. Over the years, our networking in the NWFA has connected us with the very best technical contractors in the nation to use as a resource for our own endeavors.
Meet the Business Owner: Scott A.
With a background in science I find it important to carry forward the attention to detail into our projects. We have three GREAT employees all with 8 or more years of experience. Our jobs always finish on time and we love what we do.
