Yum! They make a delicious Iced Chai Latte... much better than Sbucks.
Service is fast and very friendly!
Wish there were some of these off the island!
Morning coffee addicts flock to Mocha Mott's and I am one of them. (Don't look too closely- I am a wasted wreck in the morning.) It's down below street level, so there are stairs to deal with. (Not easy for those with strollers or hips in need of replacement.)
There are plenty of places to sit, but I usually clutch my caffeine tightly and rush out to work. It can be kind of cold and drafty down there, too.
Great bagels, breakfast sandwiches and more. I do wish they offered more options for people who can't eat wheat or dairy, but this is a repetitive message in most of my dining reviews so I should stop before I get too boring on this topic. They do have a fabulous sesame seed bar made with honey that I adore. I want that recipe.
Nice, friendly staff and very kid friendly. When I want to spoil someone, I buy them a few bagels from Mocha Motts. Bagel lovers feel they are the best on the island.
When on vacation on MV we have Mocha Motts every day and sometimes more. Rolling out of bed the first thing we do is go to Mocha Motts for bagels and coffee. Their bagels are fresh and their are several cream cheese flavors to choose from. My personal favorite is to get a toasted wheat bagel with scallion and bacon cream cheese. Their breakfast sandwiches are the best also because they make the eggs, bacon, and sausage, fresh to order. They take some extra time because of this, but they are well worth the wait. On the weekend they have "Sticky-E-Buns" that are a nice sweet treat.
Most importantly is the coffee. The coffee is organic and I would argue the best coffee I've ever had. Even better than D+D or starbucks. They give their coffees different names each day. I typically get their medium blend or their mild blend if I want an iced coffee. Lastly, buy a travel mug and the refills are only $1.25. A great deal for such a great cup of coffee.
Most years it really pays to get to Mocha Motts before 9am or the line will be out the door. If you've never been there the crowds and ordering can be a little intimidating. Trust me though if you brave them a few times you'll get the hang of things and the experience will be well worth an minor stress you have ordering.
They also sell their coffee by the pound if you want to bring some home with you.
I am not a coffee drinker but my friends seemed completely pleased with their drinks. My mint iced tea was wonderfully flavored. More than anything I loved the location and the mural outside.
This is the best coffee that Martha's Vineyard has to offer. The bagels are delicious, the coffee was satisfying....however this place isn't better than Starbucks when it comes to beverage menu choices, the taste and quality of their beverages. They may have Starbucks beat when it comes to service and food offerings.
I love this place! Down a flight of stairs in what sometimes feels like a secret cavern of coffee, you enter into a cute small shop, half of which is seating (mostly booths) and the other half is the counter/coffee prep area...lots of light-colored wood, very homey feeling.
The coffee is good (although they make their iced mochas in the wrong order - never pour hot coffee over ice, it dillutes!!! Always add the coffee to the milk, THEN pour the concoction over the ice!), barristas are pleasant, music can sometimes be good, other times awful....I assume this is depending on the whim of the employees? One day it'll be obscure rap, then punk metal, then gutteral Tom Waits....no two days are even remotely the same, it seems....
I started going here a long time ago, when it was owned by Mott himself. He's long since sold it, but little has changed since...that's nice. There's another location in Vineyard Haven, but I prefer this one! I always hit Mocha Mott's almost daily while on the island...definitely one of my favorite things to do on MV!!
Oh, and this place is NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE, unless there's some magical other entrance besides the long flight of stairs down...anyone else know of one?
And there is NO outdoor seating at this location...if you want that, you have to go to the VH location (where the old "Get a Life" Cafe used to be..)!
Was excited to try this place after reading some of the great yelp reviews, but it was just okay, nothing spectacular. The coffee was nothing special. Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts both have better coffee by far, but given the fact that those are not options on the island, Mocha Mott's is an okay alternative.
Pretty good coffee and huge bagels. This place usually has a line out the door and you'll see many people on Circuit Ave in Oak Bluffs toting their Mocha Motts coffee mugs.
I'm not even going to lie to you, this is such a tourist review. I have been there twice and both times its been crazy in there. The coffee was pretty great. The bagels were amazing though and plentiful
Was over on the Vineyard for New Years, having just left Pie in the Sky in Woods Hole. After walking around for about an hour, I needed a coffee in the worst way & lo & behold, Mocha Motts was open! Had a nice cup of Dean's Beans & one of their homemade raspberry bars & it really hit the spot. As I looked around, I could see that this place gets heavy action come summer, I was just glad to hit the off season & be able to enjoy this shop without the summer heat.
mocha mott's brews an amazing cup of coffee, whether you visit the main street, VH, outlet or the one on circuit ave in OB.
they have a loyal staff who are as unique as their menu. they serve everything from the standards - hot and iced coffee in the typical flavors - to stuff more exotic - herba matte from south america, which i love to drink and can't find in many places.
