Mocca is nice..........it's big, airy, painted neon green with red seating, serves decent food and contrary to others, I had excellent service. Maybe they got rid of the horrible waitstaff after those reviews.
To me is more of a breakfast, lunch, brunch place than a dinner destination but, hey, who knows.
Food is good, I had brunch there and it was awesome! If you live in the area, definitely worth a visit. -

I agree about the strange variety on the menu. I did enjoy the 2 for 1 happy hour drink special and the hummus and salads we had were good. I think they are focused on the slightly middle-eastern/coffee/bar feel. as if that wasn't enough.
The place is kind of hip and certainly not trying too hard. But I was there in the daytime. Good for early dinner with friends. Good for happy hour. -

I won't go into details because it has already been said. The food and drinks are good. The service is atrocious. Two of us ordered salads. The symphony salad was huge! My other friend ordered the Pita Shawarma sandwich and she enjoyed it. We all had the ginger lemonade which was decent. Not in a hurry to return based on service.

Love the ambiance and cozy seating. Not crazy about the entrees but some of the tapas are pretty good such as the lamb skewers. Mostly I like the selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks such as the white chocolate milkshake. Service has been mostly friendly and unobtrusive. Great Tribeca spot for a snack, catching up after work, or a casual cocktail.

Well, two-and-a-half stars. The thing is, I really like the brunch. It's just not clear to me that the staff actually enjoys having to serve it to other humans. The Moroccan Shakshuka and the Middle Eastern breakfast are worth making a special trip for; the hummus and baba ghanoush make my mouth water just to think about. The coffees and juices are nice, too. Once you get them, that is, and if you can fit them and your breakfast on the teeny two-top table you and two friends are required to share, even though the restaurant is nearly empty. No one has ever been actively rude; I just don't think service is part of the concept. (I just want to be loved! Is that so wrong?)

Don't trust me on the stars. I really wanted to escape the cold Sunday evening, and go in here for a nice cup of coffee. The place is very attractive and cozy, and very much closed on Sunday evenings. Their new business hours, proudly displayed on a placard at the front door, shows they close at 5pm on weekends. A tad early for my taste and needs...

Mocca Lounge (moroccan potato cigars) [Taste of TriBeCa] - think of a cha guo, or viet spring roll, except with various spices and potato filling instead, yum!, i agree w/ others, service isn't all that though

If our waitress had completely ignored us about our meal and forgotten my water multiple times, I'd have given this place four stars, even though all I had to go by was the lunch sandwich I had. But the sandwich was damn good! Warm pumpernickel bread, tons of avocado -- perfectly satisfying. Too bad the lazy waitress had to muff up the rest of the experience. I'd love to go back and try one of their many delicious-sounding salads, which the colleague who'd brought me there raved about.

I haven't been for lunch/dinner, but their brunch was good. It's not the most delicious brunch I've had in the city, but I did enjoy the fact that it was decently priced, fairly quiet and not busy, and tasty for what you paid. I got the Mediterranean egg plate, which came with delicious hummus, small crispy potato cubes, salad with a sweet balsamic and a few other things that were ehh... The most notable part of the meal was the pumpernickel bread! It's crispy on the outside and soft, fluffy, and warm on the inside. It went great with the hummus. Their coffee is fantastic too.

I didn't know what to choose for this place as a category because it's another place with a bit of everything. Sorry but I believe in narrow and excellent not everything and half assed. Ok, the place isn't totally half assed but could do it better. Fish and chips, hummus, thai chicken salad--this doesn't help me make up my mind!! Cheap and quick lunch. That's it.

Great place for morning coffee. I occasionally order lunch from here and it's really really good. Fantastic falafel and hummus and pita!

Service has been consistently bad for years. Every single time we've come, even when the restaurant is empty, it has taken at least 25 minutes for the food to come. The bathroom is frequently out of soap and paper towels. Waitstaff is consistently indifferent and borderline rude. The food is actually pretty good but at this price / service level, it's just not worth it. It's like the owners don't care. I don't get how they stay in business - like I said it's been like this for years.
