I've used ML Movers three times now. The latest move was today. Like always, they showed up at 8 a.m. exactly, had all the paperwork ready, did a walk through of my house and had my house packed in about and hour and a half.

Some people might say they take a while but I think it is because they take such great care in wrapping valuables. In the three times I have used them, nothing has ever been damaged.

Also, the workers are very respectful, Whenever I was in need of help to relocate a piece of furniture, they were always willing to help and with a smile.-Even when I changed my mind a few times.

Today, they put blankets on my wood floors when I told them my floors were new. I think it's great they were thinking of my happiness. I always recommend them to my friends that need to move and will continue to do so.

Another thing that I love is that they always call me after the move and ask me how my experience went and if I had any suggestions for their company. This little extra bit of customer service always impresses me.

    So disappointed.

The movers themselves were so-so.  My main issue is that after notifying the main office of my concerns the customer service was terrible and I was not compensated for the inaccurate charges.

A word to the wise -- their flat rate option may be the better choice if you must go with this company.  For the hourly Mon-Thurs rate, it is $89, plus $30 per roll of plastic plus i think $3 per roll of tape.  They use their tape, plastic, and time liberally, as it's all on your dime, or Benjamin.

I have used professional movers on at least four other occasions.  I have always been amazed at the speed to which most movers operate, despite being paid by the hour.  (See my review of Corrib Movers)

These movers were very different.  They were unusually slow throughout the process.  Scheduled for 8am, they arrived at 8:30am.   Not a problem, except that they billed me as though they arrived at 8am, so I paid an extra $45.  Ultimately they took 6 hours to do what the last movers took four hours to do.

When the movers arrived they forgot the metal brackets that go inside the wardrobe boxes.  Obviously that is an essential part of the wardrobe box.  After debating for awhile what they should do they decided to break off pieces of nearby tree limbs to serve as a substitute.  They then wrapped the tree limbs several times in the plastic covering and used ample tape to secure it.  In all honesty -- this was a creative solution that worked quite well.  If only I wasn't charged for their time and their supplies to make that happen.

When it came time for the "bill" at the end of the unloading, the lead guy had scribbled down the numbers on the back of a piece of torn cardboard box.  I did not receive any sort of printed or official bill.  I was concerned and expressed surprise at the price, but figured I would/should address my concerns to the main office.
I called the main office today.  I spoke with Elias the office manager.  I was completely shocked by the terrible customer service.  Initially he said because I did not document my concerns on a piece of paper the movers had me sign the insurance would not cover any losses that were now claimed.  Eventually I got a copy of this form -- the form clearly states to declare Damages, and, if everything went well, to give my feedback.  The bottom of the form says if there are any questions or concerns to contact the main office.  That is exactly what I did.

Then I was told that it was strange that I waited ten days to contact the office.  (Not unusual to me for any move, let alone a move the week before Christmas)

Overall -- I was charged for 30 minutes of service that never happened, I was charged the hourly rate while the workers tried to figure out how to fix their mistake with the wardrobe boxes, I was charged for the supplies for them to wrap the tree limbs they used.    I suppose I could get over the disappointment of it taking six hours to do what the last movers did in 4 hours, but I cannot accept the fact that I was charged for work that was not done and was charged for work they did while fixing and dealing with their own mistake.

Elias the office manager then assured me there was no one else I could speak to, that he was the office manager.  He offered me $50 in a check and told me the employees would likely be terminated.  (I don't want them to get fired, I can understand their mistakes,  I simply want the company to NOT charge me for their own mistakes.)

After they finally sent me an invoice (today, after I called) I replied with an email expressing my concerns about my move.  Elias called me back and said he did not understand the point of my email and that the funny part was that I had said $50 was better then nothing, and now I was seemingly asking for more, which he didn't understand.  He then, again, chastised me for not documenting on this form my concerns, and for waiting 10 days to call to complain about it.

My  lesson learned -- never hire ML movers again.

** The response from Miguel L with this company is disheartening.  The movers called me at 830am when they arrived, and my cell phone call log clearly reflects this.

I used ML Movers last summer. They arrived on-time. I immediately noticed that the English-speaking skills of 2 of their teammates were almost non-existent but had no problems communicating with the team leader. As others have noted, they wrapped absolutely everything in plastic to help keep it extra safe. The one item I was super-worried about was my big screen TV but I managed to communicate in my broken Spanish that the TV was "mi novia" (my girlfriend) and we all got along fine as they understood why I was hovering over them while they were handling it. Everything including the TV was unpacked safely and undamaged in the new place in record time.

Good customer service, good team, reasonable rates, they did a nice job. I'd hire them again.

This is how a business should be run.

We've used ML Movers twice now, and I wholeheartedly recommend them. Not just the high quality of their service, but the fact that it was high quality in similar ways for all of our interactions with them makes me think there is a very high quality process operating behind the scenes.

The good: The movers were on time. It was a reasonable flat rate charge so you don't have to worry about getting gamed on time spent, materials, stairs, etc. The people on the phone are very professional, intelligent, and thorough. They sent three movers for a two bedroom apartment. The movers packed everything incredibly well and efficiently. We were the bottleneck in the process--not them. The head guy on each of the moves was very professional and well-spoken. And here's the kicker: they broke a lamp. We talked about it. They discussed it, took a picture, and had me write it down on the paperwork. Monday morning I get a call that they're sending me a check for what I think is a fair amount. Incredible.

The bad: Can't think of anything. Honestly.

In short, the fact that these guys seem to have a great organization that leads to high quality service is why I'll use them again and recommend that others do so as well.

ML Movers got the job done.  Moving is no fun and having help is huge!  However, there were a few things we were not too happy about.  Upon returning to our place we moved out of to clean it, we found a few big things, that we asked them to take. There were things left in the closet and throughout the house that we were barely able to squeeze into our car without having to make two trips (90 miles round trip) to get to our new place.  Might seem like common sense, but definitely do a walk through before letting them pack up the truck and leave.

When we went to put our bookshelf back together the dowels were nowhere to be found, they took them out and who knows what they did with them.

They removed the propane tank from our bbq and just left it sitting on the ground (totally understand not packing the propane tank, but at least give us a heads up so we don't have to randomly find it).

The job they did was sufficient, but the movers were just wiped out.  Moving is no fun and the movers showed up at 3pm after doing another move at 7am, they were wiped out and just wanted to be done.  I can't blame them, we had one move to do and we were done an hour into it.  That being said, if you hire movers you expect them to do just that.  ML Movers was disappointing in that they rushed through the move and didn't do a good job of paying attention to detail and doing things right. Overall, nothing was damaged and so far, everything is here, except for the dowels, but if you're getting paid to do a job I expect a little more...

I was positively impressed with the service. I called them on a Thursday to make the moving (from Redwood City to Bernal Heights) and we set up the service for that Saturday. They arrived on time (I was still packing some stuff) and proceeded to disassemble and wrap all the furniture. One hour later all my belongings where in their truck (they forget some stuff that was unpacked but I told them: if it's not on a package don't bring it, so I guess it's ok). I left a little earlier to find a parking spot on the new place, they arrive 20 min later and proceed to unpack and assemble everything.
One hour later we were done, everything looking good and unscratched. I came back later to the old place to move the remaining items.
My friend from recommended them and I'll do the same, these guys know how to do their job!

My fiance and I just used ML Movers to move our bed and television out of the 3rd floor of a very historic home to our new apartment in Menlo Park-- they were absolutely fantastic!!  They arrived early, were polite and extremely friendly.  They were efficient, clean, and cautious and took great care to avoid scratching or damaging anything in the home or our belongings.  Their prices are extremely competitive and reasonable.  We can't lavish enough praise on ML Movers and recommend them highly!!

BEWARE--you have to unwrap and inspect EVERYTHING before they leave!  They broke my 42' flat screen TV and they refuse to pay for it because I didn't unwrap it until after they left, and the whole front was shattered.  They had to have known they broke it, which is why they left it wrapped.  Be very careful with these people!

Yes, the TV wasn't in the confirmation, but at the last minute, I decided I wanted it moved, and the moving guys agreed to move it.  It's not my fault they didn't tell me not to call the ML office and formally request that it be added to the list.  Now they are trying to use that as an excuse.  And yes, I didn't unwrap the TV for 15 days because I didn't install the wall mount because I work.  Once I installed the wall mount, I unwrapped the TV, and voila!  It's broken.

This is no customer service, just because I'm busy with work.  All they would have to do is call the movers who would verify that they verbally agreed to move it.

Prices have really gone up and the girl on the phone is really snitty.  The moving guys were fine at first but as the day wore on it became like a bad Latin comedy skit.  They said all sorts of crap about us in Spanish.  Who do they think is paying their fucking wages?  Yeah, that's right the fucking chingada customers.  It doesn't matter if you're nice to them or not, which we were very nice, they just don't like the customer.  I think they get paid like $8/hr even though the company charges $40+ an hour for their labor.  That explains things to a certain extent.  If you go with them prepare to spend the day thinking, "hey were they talking about me..?"

Roberto and his team did an excellent job. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. They arrived on time, and took care of things very efficiently. They wrapped up large and bulky items very securely, as well as fragile items that I had not wrapped yet. They took things like the dining table and bed apart and reassembled them expertly. I hope not to move again for a long time, but would definitely use them again when needed.

Really fair prices, and they have Alphaville's Forever Young on their contact page.  Moving, as Cooter says, is very emotional.  Both Carla and Elias were exceptional... smart, friendly, helpful, and provided customer service that was sort of surprising.. especially for a moving company.

Oh I asked Carla about the song... Alphaville's song is on their because moving makes you age so quickly, they want to remind everyone to try and stay young. That's adorable.

When a company quotes a flat rate over the phone that is a lot less than the competition, my first instinct is to wonder what kind of scam that company is trying to pull.

I am SO glad I got past my initial cynical  reaction because this company can't be beat.  The movers were on time, wrapped everything in plastic to protect it on the drive to my new place, unpacked quickly, and even managed to fit one piece of furniture through a door that was smaller than the furniture.  (Ok, the door wasn't really smaller than the furniture,  but looking at the two, I would have sworn it wouldn't fit).

Everything was done quickly and there were no hidden charges.

I would have given ML Movers 5-stars, but they did not bring the wardrobe box I had asked for and that ended up being a hassle for me.

All in all though, this is a great company and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Great from start to finish.  We opted for the fixed fee move and had a TON of stuff in our two bedroom apartment.  It took them all day to do what they probably had thought would only take half a day, but they did not complain at all.  The total cost was less than half what another company in the area quoted us.  They were very polite and very careful with our things the whole time.  Nothing was broken or even dented or scratched.  I have never been happier to give a generous tip and would definitely use them again.

So a typical move for me includes a few friends, an emotional breakdown, some broken walls, and broken furniture.  But this time I decided I was gonna get people.  My idea of "people" was to get a truck from home depot and find some movers off of craigslist.  Well that was a terrible idea.  I was living in a dream world imagining that would be easy. The stress of driving a truck in SF and dealing with my craigslist movers of unknown origin would have killed me.

When I was telling my friend about my master plan, she recommended ML Movers.  They offer a flat rate or hourly depending on your pref, have INSURANCE (crazy), will dismantle and reassemble your furniture, and will bring & drive the truck.  The flat rate pretty much sold it to me $350 for unknown hours of work.  This included hauling the furniture up 3 flights of stairs and no extra charge.  They were professional, timely, amazing, and kinda cute.  Nothing was broken. They humored all my last minute adds of additional boxes.  They refused all my offers of help.  And best of all the move was completed in about 3 hours!  My friends and I usually take like 12hrs.  Hopefully I won't need to move for at least a few yrs, but should I need to, I would definitely use ML again.

Phenomenal!!! There's absolutely nothing I can complain about.

First of all the reservation was a breeze. Having moved a few times before and been bitten with hidden fees, the reservation with ML Movers had none of that. I paid a flat rate for a 2-bedroom move. Flat rate = no charging by distance, duration of move, weight, number of stairs, distance of the truck from either pick up or delivery. Nothing. What I agreed to pay was all I ended up paying! (not counting the tip to the movers) Granted, the flat rate was more expensive than if I had gone with their other option of charging by the duration of the move, but at the time I booked the move, I didn't know how long it would take, so I chose to err on the safe side. Still, no regrets there, now I know for next time!

The three men who performed the move were very nice, very professional, and very efficient. They took great care of my stuff, in ways that even I wouldn't have. They wrapped every piece of furniture in plastic wrap, then in blankets, and then again in plastic wrap. I had a few special requests (2 stops versus 1, etc.), and they didn't mind at all, kept smiles on their faces the whole time!

To drive the point home, I'm very satisfied with the experience. They've certainly earned my repeat business for future moves! As well as my strongest recommendation to anyone who asks.

This review is only for the quoting process, as I selected a different mover. The quote request was from March 2010.

ML Movers has a receptionist which made for an easy phone conversation. They seemed to be a professional outfit that would be able to handle my move without a problem. I was given two options for a quote for a short distance move for a 2/2 to a house:
    1. $550 flat rate for entire move with three movers and 24' truck and plastic wrap services
    2. $100 hourly rate for three movers and 24' truck, with plastic wrap an additional cost at $20 labor per roll and $2.50 per roll, approx four rolls needed for 2br

I also got a quote from Handle With Care and Trans-One Moving, ultimately selecting Trans-One because of price, number of workers, and fit to my schedule.

I used ML Movers this past weekend to move my furniture and would certainly say that they did a superior job to other moving companies that I've used in the Bay Area and cross-country in the past.  As other reviewers have said, they are exceptionally careful in wrapping furniture, but I do not understand the few complaints from other Yelpers regarding the time spent doing so, as (1) they offer flat rates so there are no concerns regarding overages or paying overtime and (2) their flat rate was lower than the other hourly-based estimates that I got from other movers in the Palo Alto/Menlo Park area.

All three of the guys that moved our stuff were very polite and there was very little, if any, wasted time while they were working.  In addition, I would note that our move started in the afternoon and the guys did not cut any corners in their work despite not finishing until after 8 pm.

These. Guys. Are. FANTASTIC. I chose them due to their Yelp reviews, and they were absolutely worth every penny (and probably more). I had three great movers and a 24 ft. truck move our 2 bedroom apartment from the East Bay to South City. My husband and I moved some things over before they showed up, and we honestly wish we had let them handle every single piece of the move. They wrapped everything, packed things with care, and every piece arrived safely in our new home! They were courteous, efficient and absolutely cannot be beat. I am still exhausted from unpacking and moving and hope to NEVER EVER MOVE AGAIN, but if I do, I'm choosing ML Movers for sure.

They were a ripoff.  DO NOT USE!!!  Go with someone else, and get ALL the details up front.

    They don't charge 95/hr--it's 115/hr with a 4 hr minimum!

They charge 35 per roll for wrap and 3 per roll for tape. And trust me, they overuse the stuff like crazy. They wrapped my couch then proceeded to use a roll of tape just to keep the wrap on when all it needed was a bit.

If it's over 5 miles away they charge extra.

2 of the 3 guys worked. The other seemed like he was out too late the night before.  He was lagging the whole time.

When they were 3/4 done I couldn't find the 3rd guy.  The other 2 said he was in the bathroom.  20 min later he steps out from a huge dump that left skid marks all over my newly cleaned toilet.

So I get to PAY for this guy taking a shit in my toilet and leave a skid mark that I have to clean?   I understand what people have to do, but this was ridiculous...

    The nightmare didn't end there.

The movers were done in about 3 hrs n 15min. Remember I have to pay for 4 hrs min.  So I figure me letting them go early was plenty tip enough--Wrong!  They pressured me into giving them each 20 bucks each plus the 45 min break.

So I got duped.  The 300 dollar move cost me 600 for just myself and my 1 bedroom.   Way too expensive.

Plus they scratched my tv, broke some bolts on my bed, and I constantly had to oversee the job cuz they overused everything and 1 guy was super lazy.

So, yes...INSPECT everything very closely before they leave!  I didn't notice my damage until after they were long gone.

If u don't pay for their wrap then theres no guarantees if ur furniture damage gets damaged.  And it will get damaged.

The blankets they use to wrap were from the dump--they were dirty, full of bugs, and stunk like shit.

Definitely would NOT use these guys ever again.

    DO NOT recommend.

Dunno why theyre rated so well.  These guys feel like used car or mattress salesmen.

OK...I just posted this review.  Not 5 minutes later, these guys call and harass me, saying that they told me everything up front.

Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, regardless, who wraps a couch 12 times in wrap then puts tape on every 12" along the couch to make sure it stays on?

Who then calls and harasses you?--they don't ask you what you want to make you happy--they call you up, argue with you, talk over you and yell at you saying they did everything fine.

2 guys were great--they worked and were nice.  1 guy was super lazy and tried everything in his world to charge me more--just so happens this guy was the lead guy, and the guy I got to pay for and clean up his shit.

    My response to Miguel:
    you're unbelievable.

i paid 507, plus an additional 4% for using a credit card, because i don't like carrying that much cash when 3 strange dudes are around.

    plus the 20 each tip for 3 = 60, so we're closer to 600.

also, i never said i was satisfied during the callback.  i said i was glad the move was over. don't say i said something when i didn't.

also, you disclosed everything up front, but why the ultra complex pricing system?  there's a lot of small print in what you sent.  i say they're hidden because you don't tell us the important stuff up front---you only ask that we read the contract.  these kinds of things you should highlight and reiterate.

also, i allowed them to use the wrapping and taping material, because they pretty much said if i didn't then things WOULD be damaged.

also, i didn't report any damage after the move because i didn't want to pay for inspecting everything while they waited.  once i had more time to inspect, that's when i noticed the damages.

also, it's been a few weeks because this is the first free time i've had since i moved.  i'm sorry, but i moved.  i had to do alot of things, in addition to working, paying bills, etc.

also, i never gave that dude "consent" to use my bathroom.  i asked the other 2 where he was and he was already in there.  wtf am i suppose to do--kick him out when he's midway through?

then you guys call back trying to bully me or something...you don't even try to make things right, or make me happy.  i think that there's enough here for people to judge you by.

    that's the end---

you had your chance miguel.  i'm sorry, but your service wasn't that good.  it was so so, but with your pricing system, lead mover guy, and reactions...my opinion of your performance for this move is in this review.

I called ML based on Yelp reviews for a small commercial load to move from San Carlos to Redwood City... some tile, about a 90 minute job for one guy and a truck. They quoted $500. They advertise a truck and 3 guys to move for $89/hour but somehow that advertisement isn't related to what I wanted. Anyway, that is was twice the price of the next highest quote I got. So, shop your quote around a little if it seems high.

They moved me in south SJ around the middle of July, I called made appointment and then got a call requesting 200 bucks to confirm. Wasn't a big fan of that, but that's their policy.

They arrived ten minutes late but moved everything I asked. They do take a while to wrap everything, but not as much as a scratch on anything and I didn't have to carry any furniture up stairs.

Unwrapping all the plastic and blankets takes time you'll pay for so don't get behind or it will cost you. Not a bad experience overall, and they moved my RETARDED heavy couches up my stairs and got them in my door. The squeak a little bit now, but better the couch than my back...

They moved all the furniture and my previously packed boxes from a bedrooms, living room, kitchen, appliances and some garage/yard stuff to my smaller place for about $600. If I'd had them pack up the rest of the things it would have been MUCH more expensive.

These guys were great...I recommend them to anyone.

    -10 minutes early
    -Very hard workers
-Took care of my stuff better than I do.
-They let me know about the Cash discount on the phone.
-Called to confirm and were very professional.
-Flat rate let me feel relaxed - they weren't ripping me off with extra plastic wrap or tape or miles

For 350$ (plus tip) they moved my bedroom from my storage unit in PA to San Francisco into my new home...they did a great job.

Keep your friends by not harassing them to help you move and hire these guys instead.

    Thanks.

Great movers although there prices have skyrocketed! I used them to move from my studio apartment in SSF to San Mateo in 2009 . The flat rate cost of service was $275....I see on their website the cost of service is for a studio move is now $450! Wow...is it because they have become so popular?

In any case they were quick, careful, and reliable! Although the back of my drawer is broken from the move. One of the movers glued it up and taped it sealed, but now my drawer is lop-sided from the improper glue job.

Note: I wrote a review on ML Movers once my move was done...and suddenly I can't find it! Did Yelp remove my review?

I was probably a bad customer.

    1) I scheduled the move 3 days in advance. 2) I didn't understand that I was supposed to provide a detailed manifest in advance so I provided a brief summary - 'Bed, desk, etc'. So I had a little more than they were expecting. 3) I didn't really put anything into boxes, because I figured they would have boxes. They didn't. We had to get creative. 4) The Caltrain was late and they had to wait a half an hour to unload. 5) The microphone on my iphone was broken so I couldn't communicate at all during the move.

But even with all that the guys were friendly, and the company didn't make any adjustments to the flat rate they had quoted me (which was very cheap by comparison to other services). I did tip well as a result, otherwise karma may have baked my soul into a Promethean hell where I was part of an infinite moving day.

The only advice I'd give to ML is to make sure your customers understand they should tell you exactly what they have, and that they need boxes and the like.

Then again maybe most people know this already and my guerilla-move tactics aren't that common. (I have moved this bedroom at least 9 times in the last 4 years.)

I used ML movers last weekend. We needed movers to wrap our furnitures very well (we have some real wood and heavy furnitures) and put them into the garage for storage. I've checked other moving companies and they go by hourly rate instead of flat rate.  I decided to go with ML movers because their online photos showed more layers of wrapping and I don't want to worry about how many hours of work.
The movers showed up 5 minuets early with two guys, they were very efficient and no hesitate when I asked them to wrap something. They stack up the furnitures very well and I was pleased with their work! You can see my photo.
ML moveres did an outstanding job and flat rate was definitely a better deal!

I went with ML Movers based on the yelp reviews. They deserve every five-star review they have.

We opted for the flat rate of $650; the move actually ended up taking 8 hours, so this worked out to be a better deal. For this price, they moved my entire 2-bdr apt + garage. They also brought wardrobe boxes and carefully wrapped all large framed art, etc. They were courteous, uber-professional and punctual (actually, they showed up 30 minutes early).

If I move again, I'm definitely using ML--they exceeded my already high expectations based on the stellar yelp reviews.

UPDATE:The owner's statements are lies. Nowhere at any time in my correspondence, did I ask for a quote of $500-1,000 for the move. Here is my verbatim email: "Hi there! Do you folks happen to do moves from the Bay Area (Menlo Park) to North Carolina? Thanks!" Christ, his reply is pasted below- where does he ask me to share a truck? Where do I ask for that ridiculous pricing? How lame really, to stoop to lying/threats because you don't like someone's review.  The worst part is, I warned this guy twice to stop contacting me personally with threats and to take it up with Yelp if he wants my review removed and he continued to harass me via my personal email, threatening me, until I told him I was calling the police. I sure hope his "lawyers" acquaint him with terms like "libel" and "harassment". Next time, don't ask what someone thinks of your price if you don't want the answer!

"Every customer has the right to write a bad or good review but that is after we do their job. You cant just be playing with our reputation or any other company's.were asking you to please remove that review, because we only gave you a quote like every company does your the one that decides whether you will like the services with us or any other company. Like you have the right to write any review we also have the right to send you our lawyers because your just playing with our reputation. We have not even send you a confirmation which  explain you our terms and conditions."

    ORIGINAL REVIEW:
This place gave me a poorly written, exorbitant quote of $10,000 to move a small one-bedroom apartment's worth of stuff from the Bay Area to Raleigh, NC.  He asked what I thought of his quote and the reality is this is many, many times over and above any quote I've gotten from anywhere else. The average has been about $2,000-2,500 and that includes loading/unloading or at least one of the two- which isn't even included in the $10,000. Charges with other movers are based on a per pound price with a minimum (often 2000 to 2500 pounds) and usually 50 cents to a dollar per pound plus fuel surcharges. I have no idea how they came up with $10,000 since I provided no info/was not asked for any info on what I was moving. See verbatim email below:

"Hi The best price  that we can offer is $10,000.00 flat rate we provide 2 movers 24ft truck stretch wrap to protect your furniture tape blankets and dollies. The price that were giving you is only for your move as soon as the movers close the truck here in Menlo park they will open the truck when they get to your destination. The truck will leave from Menlo park and your stuff will get to north Carolina as long as they take driving. Please let me know what you think of the price."

I found Laines movers on Yelp. Miguel Laines and his team are absolutely as terrific as all the other reviewers said. Miguel is very accommodating and easy to work with. They were ready to work right on time. My furniture was handled with care and everything went very smoothly. This was the easiest move that I've ever had! The price was quite reasonable, too.

    Highly recommended!

I have been dreading my move.  The upright piano was still at my mother's house, and the rest of the furniture was in my home.  Both involved a flight of stairs.  We were moving from Redwood City to Moss Beach.  I thought it was going to be expensive.

When I called Miguel he told me that he had a flat rate depending on the size of the house and this much more for an extra stop.  Keep in mind that the extra stop was a PIANO.  We had already packed all of the personal stuff into boxes and used a POD to move this stuff to our new home.  I asked him since we had done this, would his men be willing to help us empty our POD after they were done moving the furniture?  He actually offered a reduced price instead based on the amount of time this would likely cut off their work day.  We took it GLADLY.  As it turns out, he cost about 100 dollars more than some guys that I hired 5 years ago to move for four hours.  These previous movers, who were a little less expensive, did not move the piano, damaged my floors, and complained the entire time they had to go up and down our stairs.   ML movers offered a GREAT PRICE for all that we had them move.

As cheap as I am, my favorite part of the experience was being around these movers.  I have had movers before complain about how heavy my furniture is as they scrape my floors etc.  These guys were literally whistling and singing as they carried stuff up and down the flight of stairs.  My husband and I were in the garage watching them in shock at how pleasant they were.

They actually beat us over the hill to our new home, and called us to see if we were coming soon.  They did not take a single break, but just busted it out.

They moved a lot of heavy stuff up and down a flight of stairs in less than 5 hours with the extra stop.

They showed up a little early, better than on time.

They would not let me pay them until they were done, and only asked for the negotiated price.

They wrapped everything in plastic, and my furniture looked better after they were done with it then before.

Both homes have hard wood floors, and they did not leave a mark anywhere.  They used blankets to protect my doorframes when moving large objects between rooms.

They were so wonderful that we were forced to tip them generously because they far exceeded any expectations I have ever had and I have worked with professional movers a number of times in my life.

Nobody likes moving.  Nobody.  I dread things will be lost, broken, I will wait all day for the movers to show up...none of that happened yesterday!

ML Movers are quite simply the best I have ever used.  Period.  They handled my apartment sized-move with ease (and for a GREAT price).

(And this is from girl who has lived in SoCal, NorCal London, NY, London again, New Hampshire, Colorado, and all over NorCal again)

    * They showed up on time.

    * The price they quoted was the price I paid.

    * They were fast, efficient, courteous, and most importantly, careful!

In fact, they were more careful with my possessions than I normally am!

[SIGH of RELIEF!]  My move was a breeze.  In less than three hours I was    all settled.  Amazing.

I will absolutely be calling these folks again, and in the meantime, I want to shout from the rooftops to sing their praises.

Is it possible to give six or eight stars on Yelp?  I wish it were.  ML Movers  deserve it!
