10 reviews for Mjm Shoes
So my thing is clothes, hand bags and accessories and for some reason, shoes are not my thing. I mean I wear them but I have had the same 5 pairs of shoes for like 2 years. But my bestfriend has this shoe fetish and after hearing everyone in the office envying her shoes when she walks by my desk, and then looking down at my basic black heels, I decided to go shoe shopping.
I walked into shoe heaven. It was like Cathy Jean on steroids, no like Amanda said below, a shoe Costco. I strolled down the aisle on a high and looked at every single amazing shoe there. I started with 8 pairs of shoes and ended up with 4 but only because I wanted a new purse too. Very amazing styles, prices are cut to half the designer price and because they mark out the 'old' price and write in the new price on large signs next to the shoes, I can actually not feel guilty buying a $60 pair of shoes because hello, it was $120!~~
The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the sales girls totally ignored me and were chating about their dates over the weekend. I politely cleared my throat to get their attention.
If you sign up on their website, you can print a $5 coupon to use in store!
They are organized, unlike some shoes stores you go to and everything is on the floor. Found some coach heels, that was a plus. There's row and rows of shoes, heels, flats, boots, etc. Good shoe store if you got enough cash in your wallet.
This place is the reason I got the nickname "Shoes". No, I mean it! Everyday at work, the girls would circle me asking to look at my shoes to the bewilderment of our male colleagues. One day, one of the men, not knowing me by name, called me "Shoes" to get my attention. It stuck.
The selection of shoes at MJM is so amazing, I have since moved to the peninsula but I come back periodically to try on and buy tons of shoes. The customer service sucks, but who cares? Just think about how much you're saving as you stand in line and it makes it worth it!
MJM is the Costco Warehouse equivalent of shoe shopping. Girls, it would be wise to leave the guys at home. The rows and rows of shoes will keep you occupied for at least a good hour, if you're a fast shopper (like me).
The store stocks an amazing amount of footwear for men, women and children. Many shoes are identical to what you'll see in department stores during the same season. MJM carries some high end brands (usually a few pairs of Charles Davids, etc. - but nothing so high end as Jimmy Choo). In addition to shoes, there are smaller selections of socks and handbags in the front of the store.
I have no idea why this company decided to build in Modesto, of all markets. But I am so pleased they did. This is a "must do" when I come back home to visit.
Some bad news:
Their return policy pretty much sucks, so be sure you want to keep a pair before you buy.
Some good news:
Don't see your size? Ask the (admittedly detached and less than ecstatic) staff to check other MJM locations. I can't recall if there was a fee - if there was it was nominal, perhaps $5, to ship the size you want from a different store. They'll give you a call for pick-up once your pair arrives.
I have a serious problem with poor customer service. I would much rather shop for shoes online than deal with moody and rude workers. The last time I was there the shoes I picked up didn't have a tag so the girl sent an other girl who walked about the speed of mollases back to find another pair. When she returned, I'm not kidding about 5 minutes later, the girl at the register didn't get back to helping me, instead she said "next" and helped the next person. WTF? I said "nevermind" and left. yuck. Modesto definately needs more shoe stores, but in the meantime stick with Macy's, Zappos or Piperlime. Not this icky place.
Reminds me of DSW in Santa Clara. Excellent selection of shoes. Be sure to check the discount racks for good finds! They even carry purses, umbrellas, and other accessories to finish off your look!
MJM you tempt me with all of your wonderful shoes and handbags!! You are pure evil! I can never leave this store empty handed. Usually if all goes well, I leave with more than one pair of shoes. (shhhhh) ...The rows and rows of shoes are amazing. They often carry what you would find at Macy's or other department stores. The prices are fab! The customer service is actually really good too. MJM is a little nugget of treasure in the Mo!
So many different shoes,so little time.. For a city like Modesto, this place is heaven to a shoe lover.. So many name brand shoes from Enzo to Kenneth Cole.. Who would imagine that there would be something like this in the town of Modesto??
Excellent selection, and they always have your size, not just the 4.5's and the 11's. Minus one star for a few unprofessional staffers (but that's the usual nowadays).
This is the first place I go to when I need or want new shoes. The selection is huge and they have prices ranging from $20 to $220. There is something for everyone.
