A little slow getting noticed when I walked in and a little slow in taking a drink order but other than that I truly enjoyed this experience. Great selection of wines, interesting menu (I chose the non-vegetarian menu) from which I had the seared Ahi salad. Just the right meal for me and the server was friendly and efficient and comped me a glass of Chianti for the wait at the beginning of the meal.
The ambiance was low key and cosmopolitan. A real change from the chains in downtown Spokane.
This is one of the main reasons I miss Spokane (sometimes).
Mizuna is one of few Spokane restaurants that prides itself on healthy, fresh, local ingredients. I've been here more times than I can count and I have tried almost everything on the menu. All I can say is mmmmmmmmmm, this place is delicious.
The ambiance is lovely - brick walls, wood floor, candles and fresh flowers everywhere, and of course live music (every night?).
The dining experience goes a little like this: 1) you sit down and look around "hmm nice cozy interior" 2) waiter/waitress arrives "hmm this waiter is weird" 3) menu "nothing on this menu looks amazing, but i guess i'll try something" 4) food arrives "this tastes weird" 5) two bites into meal "this is incredible!" 6) on the way out the door "i MUST come back"
As many times as I've been here I go through this cycle EVERY time. So be prepared to be afraid on your first bite. But also be prepared to enjoy a scrumptious meal!
Great drinks and appetizers. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is something different for Spokane. It's a little on the $$ side, but well worth it.
Bland bland bland...and over-priced.
That describes Mizuna. I am not vegetarian but not a huge meat-eater either so after hearing rave reviews of this restaurant I gave it a try.
The food is tasteless...I could not tell what I was eating and it was just bland....and oily. The bread should be served with olive oil to dip it in...not vinegar like Mizuna offers. The drinks were way too strong.
The food was so terrible that my friend suggested we just leave it (Write it off as a huge FAIL) and go to another restaurant, which we did.
The restaurant was a huge disappointment and if this is the best Spokane has to offer when it comes to veggie eating...I pity the people who are strict veggies who go here. They obviously have never had good vegetarian food in their lives if this is "great food' to them.
I really had a great evening here. The food was amazing, the service was as good as it gets, and I really enjoyed the feeling in here. I don't have any complaints and I definitely recommend

If you're a vegetarian, this place is great. If not...well, it's not bad at all but it's also nothing I'd write home about.
It's a nice place with a great ambiance to it...I especially love the live music and outdoor seating in the summer. But I wasn't impressed with the menu. Granted, I am a meat loving girl so maybe Mizuna just isn't my cup of tea. I got the soup of the day, which was good but was terrinbly overpriced for the portion size.
I've only been here a few times and it's usually at the request of my vegetarian friends. In other words, I've never chosen to go here and I probably never will. But like I said, it's probably just not the right fit for me. If you're a vegetarian, you'll love it.
LOVE this place! My ex-boyfriend's parents who were big meat eaters would always take us here for dinners to accommodate my vegetarian ways. Anyway, boyfriend's dad is a big steak and potatoes guy, but he LOVED Mizuna.
Everything is delicious and the menu is constantly rotating. THey don't rely on fake meat here. They really focus on fresh, natural ingredients. Definitely go here for an elegant, delicious meal!

I'm really picky about my food, but I seemed to be easily impressed with places... anyway, I love this place! Its really cute, has a nice ambiance- has outdoor alley seating, occasional live music, lots of "hip and cool" vegitarian dishes that are timed with the season...and "hip and cool" wait staff. My boyfriend and I went here for our first anniversary. He's not big into vegitarian food, but I used to be...needless to say, we spent about $75 and it was very good. They have a full bar and a really rad bathroom! I know, I'm a nerd. I like snazzy places with snazzy bathrooms. I'm impressed by decor as well as food. I'd go here all the time if I could afford it!!
This place epitomizes Northwest dining- fresh, local, and creative food in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu is heavy on vegetarian options, but also includes meat and seafood. I've had several things here; all of them delicious. Strong wine slelections as well. Great loungey ambiance inside or sit outside in the alleyway on the side of the restaurant.
came here to pick up a gift certificate as it was a client's favorite vegetarian restaurant. ended up staying for lunch since the menu looked good.
service was pretty good since we got there right when it opened. it filled up pretty quick though with the lunch rush. there were a bunch of items that looked good but i decided on the spiced lamb burger, one of the non-vegetarian choices. it was almost perfect except it was a tad heavy on the cucumber basil raita. i so would have gone for dessert but it was only lunch and i knew i was going to have a big dinner that night.
i'd come back to try some other stuff since my order was pretty good and the other things looked good and the restaurant itself looked really cute from the outside, vine covered and all.
