I walked in not even necessarily needing a haircut but because I heard this salon was SO great, I decided to give it a try since I was in the area. It was a weekday afternoon and I didn't make an appointment, but I was helped right away. When my stylist asked me what I wanted done with my hair, I basically just said, "Just a trim and whatever you think looks good." After 35 minutes or so, I came out of there with a GREAT haircut for only $30 (cut and shampoo). With little instruction, the hair stylist was able to meet my request AND give me a good haircut. Not a lot of people can do good bangs and he did mine just how I wanted it done. I will definitely go back for my haircut when I'm in the area again!
I have been going to Miyako Salon for over 15 years now and rarely have I been disappointed. I have since moved to the San Francisco area but still come back to Miyako's for my haircuts and highlights. In fact, now even my 6 year old daughter gets her haircuts there. It's a reliable place to get a haircut and very reasonable compared to other salons.
My girlfriend came in to do bangs. She left upset, and I felt bad that she did not like her bangs. It ruined our day for a couple of hours. They did try their best, but it was not what she wanted.
