First I know its closed. But I used to live in the area, and LOVED this place. I dont understand why they were closed this place had THE best California rolls EVER!. Plus that teriaki oh my word! DAMN good stuff.
I will miss this place, and its a shame they are gone. Good food, good people, and awesome cheap prices. -
Review from Betty N.
Cheap, fast, and gets it done.
I ordered #6 for $10.95 and it was dinner.
Not great, but when it's 8:30PM and you want a quick sit-down, I don't mind it.
I haven't been to this place in over ten years. Nothing has changed. Same stark furniture and walls. It was almost dead on a Tuesday night. They are moving to a different location, starting tomorrow. I honestly don't know how they survived for this long.
My friend ordered the something heftier for $14.99 and it included salmon and the trimmings, but he admitted that he should have also ordered my #6. Too much food.
$31.95 included two entrees and a beer.
Like I said, cheap, fast, and it got done.Listed in: PALO ALTO EATS: FOR THE…

I wanted to really love this place.
Not because I longed to discover a favorite Japanese Restaurant in the South Bay.
Hell No! I moved away from this area for a hardcore reason of boredom.
But, I still wanted to love this place.
Not because I used to go here with friends when I was in my late teens.
Reminiscent means shit to me when it comes to paying to eat at a restaurant.
I wanted to love this place because I was fricken hungry and wanted to have some deliciously GOOD FOOD.
Simple, but so wildly out of reach here.
Maybe it's because I got a lunch bento box ($6.95).
The chicken terriyaki was unpalatable, the California rolls were mushy, the rice was cold. Shame on you, Miyake!
Damn, hungry and disappointed is not how you want to see me when driving back to SF. Grrrrrr....
OVERALL: Take your money and business else where. The food lacks quality and the service lacks... -

Doctor Seuss wrote a first draft of a sushi book you all didn't know about from your childhood.
The inspiration for the book came when his grandson got some Miyake takeout for him one time. The draft was never published, as the good Doctor spent a lot of time on the throne while his o-ring got blown out after eating the takeout, and the draft doubled up as toilet paper.
Luckily some pages were recovered, and after so many years it finally sees the light of day which will be shared with you all.
And the story goes a little bit like dis:
One fish
Two fish
Dead fish
Smelly fish.
Fried fish
Dried fish
Rubbery fish
Spicy fish
This one has
One Yelp star.
This one is on a water boat bar.
Say! What a lot
of Big Ass Stupid Name Rolls there are!
Yes. Some are red. And some are goo.
Some are half day old. And some are new.
Some look rad.
And some are mad.
And the rest are all very, very VERY bad.
From there to here,
from here to there,
big ass ugly things
are everywhere
Some rolls have two pieces
and some have four.
Some have six pieces
and some have more!
Where do they come from? I can't say.
But I bet they have suffered
a long, long way.
We see them come.
We see them go.
Say!

Review from Kevin C.
When my friends suggest Miyake, I don't object, but I couldn't really be less excited.
Food: 2.5 stars
Value: 3 stars
Service: 2 stars
Verdict: 2.25 stars. "... yeah, I guess we can go to Miyake..."
When I was in high school, I thought Miyake was a pretty big deal. I didn't get out much. Also, it was a pretty good value, with bento lunches for like $6.
Fast forward to 2008, and the Miyake mystique is long gone. Having been to comparable Japanese restaurants (Miyabi-Tei, Tanto, Seto, Sushi Kuni, Chopstix, Niban)... Miyake might be the worst of the bunch.* And a bento dinner is like $10 or $11 now.
*: I guess Todai is worse, but that's sort of in a separate category: subpar Japanese buffets.
Thursday night, 7:20. The place is mostly empty. The three of us are greeted right away and given a choice between sitting at the bar or a table. So far so good. We're given two menus and two sushi menus. Way to count, buddy. Somewhere, your childhood math teacher weeps bitterly. But whatever, we can share. Sharing is caring.
Our beverage orders are taken; two ice waters, one tea. These are brought quickly, and the waiter asks if we're ready to order. At this point we've only had a couple minutes to look over the menu, so we let him know that we need more time. Like a vulture waiting for a sickly wildebeest to die, he hovers impatiently around the table. Kick down, Sparky! We do our best to ignore him until we finish deciding. The order goes in: one nabeyaki udon ($7.95), one "Apple" roll, one New York roll.
The sushi comes out first, followed a few minutes later by my udon. The server has no idea whose dish is whose, so we sort it out ourselves. It's obvious, but still. I don't understand why the waiters these days aren't trained to keep track of this.
Three observations about the nabeyaki udon, all negative:
1) The shrimp tempura is already in the soup instead of on the side. Completely soggy before it even gets to the table. Total letdown. The best part of the meal, ruined.
2) No shichimi togarashi (seasoning) shaker. I thought it's pretty standard to offer that with udon.
3) Among other items like fish cake and fried tofu, there's half a hard-boiled egg in the soup. That it's a HALF egg bothers me. Has my half egg been sitting in the kitchen waiting for me to order it? Or is its accompanying half now sitting in the kitchen waiting to be ordered? Either way, 50% of people must be getting old egg. Old half egg.
During the course of dinner, I am offered no fewer than four tea refills. This is great, except that my friends are never offered water refills. As we are about to pay, a waiter comes walking by with a pitcher of ice water... and walks right past without offering a refill. Comically oblivious.
Should have tried the nearby Greek place instead. Darn my rock-paper-scissors skills! -

We used to go here all the time in high school because it was cheap and close to school.
In the five years since, this place has either gone down the drain or I've been exposed to too many... regular restaurants. Or both. Now all I see is gaudy decor and completely empty tables at peak dinner times. And their sushi boat might as well be floating on the River Styx because it's where all the fish go to die and float around in an endless loop. :(
The sashimi is not trustworthy at all, and don't ever get their agedashi tofu. I really don't see any reason, compelling or not, to return here. -

Newark, CA
This was my first time at this location. I had been to the Palo Alto location a few times, but many years ago.
When we arrived for lunch at noon on a Wednesday, we didn't know if they were closed as the parking lot was empty. Through the restaurant's big windows, we did see there was one table with customers and a few staff members walking around.
There was no loud greeting (from the mostly non-Japanese staff) when we walked in, but we were seated promptly (not hard to do when there are about 20 empty tables).
Most of us, including me, went the safe route and had an obento box. In terms of quantity, the bento box had plenty of terriyaki chicken and california rolls, but they did skimp a bit on the tempura. The quality was fair or average. Not the best, but not the worst I've ever had.
It was an okay experience, but I wouldn't make a point of eating out here unless I was in the immediate vicinity. -

Cafeteria, fast food version of sushi - MAYONASE should not be an ingredient in sushi!!!! Yet it seems to be a filler in an awful lot of their rolls. Always super busy and the staff never seems to understand what it is you ordered, too many menu options maybe???
Ah but if you have a large crowd with not too particular tastes or kids who only eat the crab anyway or vegitarians then this place works just fine. -

UPDATE: Man, I wonder if that was Wifey's way of trying to get in my pants. Boy, I am dense. She went to all that trouble to get a gander at my P-nee-nee and all I could do was grab my crotch and dance in place like Michael Jackson doing The Skittle. What a dope.
-----------------
I'm almost embarrassed to admit that this was the site of the first date with Wifey. In my defense it was 8 years ago and this place used to be better....sort of.
They would get 1 star, except for one incident of hilariously prompt service. As our waiter was walking away after taking our order, Future Wife called out after him for some hot tea. Without blinking, dude turns, reaches out and snags a hot tea off another waiter's platter and hands it to her. So the fact that he was willing to fuck over the customers at another table in order to get my future bride her tea was kind of cool.
You know what wasn't cool? When she pushed her bento box towards the middle of the table to make room for her sushi plate. The box then pushed my plate, which then pushed a piping hot bowl of miso soup over the edge of the table --- and into my lap.
Damn, talk about firecrotch. You know how they say put butter on skin burns? I passed. -

I like this place for the gyoza and tempura. They're one of the few restaurants that include potato in the vegetable tempura mix! Potato tempura...mmmm.
I don't really eat sashimi or anything raw, so I wouldn't know how bad their sushi is. -

I've been going here for a long time. Always go here on Sundays usually after church. I dont know why people are hating on this place. I know it's kinda old but the food is still good. I dont have any problems with the food at all. It tastes like every 'ake's' there are. Ariake, Miyakes.
The service is ok. You gotta let them know when you need them. They wont go to you. They do refill your tea and water. I use to love california rolls...but they dont seem to be as good as before.
Overall its a good experience. Now that I think about it, we always eat at tables never the bar. I kinda know why ppl say its old and dirty, the sushi bar isn't really welcoming. Next time you guys go here, just ask for a table. -

EEW, EEW, EEW!!!! I tried this place years ago & didn't like it. I thought, hell...it's been over 9 years, I'm sure it's gotten better. Boy was I wrong!
I had a chicken / tempura / ca roll bento box for lunch. I got 5 tiny little pieces of chicken (with the skin, I hate skin), "ca rolls" (it was 95% crab), the tempura tasted like it was way over cooked cuz it was greasy all the way through & last, the "salad" was mostly shredded cabbage.
I had to use the restroom & got to really look at the "decor' of the place on the way to the back...totally old, dirty & outdated. The door to the kitchen looked nasty! I can only imagine what their kitchen looked like. I could picture roaches scurrying about, thank God I didn't see any! How has this place stayed open so long with such horrible food?
In a word: GARBAGE -

Sigh. I don't like to post 1 star reviews but I must.
This is the place where I popped my Sushi Cherry. My sis tricked me into thinking wasabi was avocado. GRR!
But to all you Sushi Virgins out there, I wouldn't recommend popping your cherry here anymore. I guess the first time for things isn't usually the greatest, but it doesn't have to be lousy like this place!
Granted, I haven't been here in a few years, but the quality has gone down so much! Can't cheap Sushi be at least somewhat tasty? The Sushi boat hardly had any sushi floating around, and it seem like the fish was sitting there for so long, developing bacteria, I bet. *shudders*
I used to love getting the Miami Roll- barbequed tuna with avocado and cream cheese. But when I went to the Palo Alto location, it was so dry and bland. *gags it in a napkin*.
So for the Sushi Virgins out there, Try Ariake's instead. A friend insists she likes Miyakes though cause they have better California Rolls than Ariake's. Oh geez, it's just crab. They got rolls with cooked fish, so don't think you have to dip your whole self into the rawness of it. But when you do, it's like an orgasm in your mouth! :D -

Just took a glance at some of the reviews for Miyake, and I was sad to see the number of abysmally abysmal reviews for Miyake. Disrepair? Thriller Rolls? Cockroaches?!?! What happened to you, Miyake?!
My friends and I used to come here after school (only a couple years ago) for lunch all the time. Their food was cheap and decent, especially considering quantity. Lunch bentos (the best is Bento#5 - Chicken Teriyaki, Tempura, and California Roll) for less than $6! It's not authentic, and the food isn't amazing, but still, it was a steal!
Too bad those days are no longer. Sigh. Miyake. What happened to you.
Please use a Max Revive on yourself and recover.
And bring back the $6 Bento. -

I used to go here when I was younger.
The quality and the service is so bad now. After my last bad experience with my dad and my two sisters, about 3 years ago, none of us have been back since.
There are sooo many more Japanese restaurants that I would rather spend my money at.
If I want a quick bite I would pick Ariake Sushi Boat over Miyake any day. -

[review only for bento box]
My little bento-box lover T adores this place.
It's her favorite for a quick lunch, but nothing much else. (she says the sushi isn't great, and I believe her. The place is almost always empty)
Salmon Teriyaki box was great.
Tempura was good, but portion was a little skimpy.
Servers are kind of creepy.
I know my friend is really cute and all but, geez... stop staring and let her eat wouldya!Listed in: Cuperti-Yes!

Good
-Cheap place to get a reasonable bento box
Bad
-This place looks like it needs a serious renovation
-Not as good as it once was
-Slow service
-Often blaring strange Japanese music that doesn't fit a relaxing eating atmosphere
-Higher prices and smaller portions recently (there used to be a $5 lunch special which had more food than I could eat)
-The tables seem sticky and the plates seem very old and worn -

Cheap sushi=cheap quality.
What can you expect, it caters to ppl who want a cheap fixing of sushi to get their craving done w/.
A lot of De Anza students come here for a quick lunch because of the sushi boats. And college students are usually poor so thats why they come here to get cheap sushi. Its is seriously just average sushi I might even add below average. For better sushi or average sushi that is cheap also go here. ( http://www.yelp.com/bi... ). Its definitely better than Miyake. Yet Miyake is probably better than Ariake. ( http://www.yelp.com/bi... )
And there you have it for cheap sushi thats average qualityListed in: Japanese Palate

Not to be confused with the Miyake of Palo Alto...good thing, I can only imagine the odd looks I would get if I stood up on my chair and yelled "When I say SAKE...you say.."
Honestly, I wouldn't take someone here for lunch but I will make a quick stop myself if I'm in a rush. This place is located in the tech mecca known as the Silicon Valley, hence the nerdy names for their rolls. http://static.px.yelp.... And although I haven't ordered any of these said rolls...my biased opinion says Apple trumps Microsoft :)
I usually get the lunch combo #18 - Salmon Teriyaki, Tempura, Sashimi. http://static.px.yelp.... The portions aren't huge, but for $7.95 what do you expect? The best part was the salad..only because I like the miso dressing. Tried their Spicy California Roll and it was nothing to write home about http://static.px.yelp.... I wouldn't try the sushi boat bar - not sure how long some of those items have been riding on that lazy river.
There's plenty of other japanese places in the area, but fast service and no-nonsense food if you're hungry. Next time I'm gonna get up on my chair with a sake bomb in hand...errrr or maybe not.Listed in: Hit It 'n Quit It, I ain't Japanese...

I agree with the postings below. This used to be a half way decent place to go when it seemed like they cared about food and service, in the last 3 years the drop off has been downright dramatic.
The only reason to go now would be to eat mediocre sushi and watch groups of youngsters down sake bombs. So, no thanks, I'll pass... -

I don't know why I came back here..Its so close to my house and I just say to myself "oh, I think it'll be okay here" because I tell myself this sushi place is really cheap.
Soo..here I am. I got my self a bento box with beef teriyaki, california roll, and gyoza. I also got a sushi roll with salmon, cream cheese, and avacado.
The beef here is way too tough, as if its been cooked for too long or it's just filled with fat. DON'T GET THIS unless you like eating fat. The california roll was pretty good as usual, shredded crab which is my favorite! The salad seemed soggy and the bottom on my bowl had a layer of water. Yes..water.
My meal was only like $15 for the amount that I got, but the quality wasn't that great.1 Previous Review: Show all »

What happened to this place?! The food used to be decent, the vibe fun, the place clean. Now it's just. a step above a dump. I haven't been to Miyake for a couple years, but when I went there for lunch a few weeks ago, it looked like everything had gone down the tube. My food was sub-par, the place felt like it really needed a cleaning, and the service was just inattentive. The tables and chairs were unevenly placed, and a few of the waiters were looking rather disheveled.
I'm not coming back here. -

This place used to be a good value, with pretty tasty food.
But lately, it's really gone to the dogs.
I usually get their Dinner OBento (#5/$9.25) - Teriyaki Chicken, tempura, and california roll. Mound of rice, edamame beans, and coleslaw included. The chicken has a decent smoky aroma/texture, but some bites tasted way rubbery and the gaminess was offputting. The tempura is boring and the rolls don't seem as lively and fresh as they used to.
Barely anyone in the place when I recently visited.
It's a shame because this place used to be a good choice for tasty food with good value.
Now it's just a has-been-and-will-never-be-as-good-again. -

I use to love Miyake in the 90's. My friends and I would go here all the time for a sit down meal or for take out. In fact, it was the only sushi place we ever went.
With that being said, I went last month for lunch with my brother because I wanted to see if it was still a good place to eat. Well, it is not. Urgh, it was gross. I did not enjoy one bite and neither did my brother. I was so disappointed in the quality of food and the service. We could not get out of their fast enough. -

I'm not giving Miyake's 5 stars because of the food because to be quite frank, their food is crap. If you're here for food, and just for food, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I give Miyake's 5 stars because I had an awesome time for my 21st birthday and they did everything they could to make sure I was happy.
One thing Miyake's is well known for is their sake bomb and how they do it. When my friends and I ordered our first sake bomb of the night, the waiter not only called us out, but he even made us stand up on our chairs and turned on the disco lights.
...woohoo the fun begins!!!
After a couple of sake bombs, one of my friends sneakily orders a birthday "waterfall". Let's just say I was pretty much done after that night. I had a lot of really good memories from this place and I know Miyake's will do the same for anyone who turns 21.
If you haven't gone, you gotta go!!! -
Review from Gail W.
I met up with a friend here the other night. I'd heard of the restaurant, though nothing especially good or bad. I didn't know what to expect. As soon as I walked in, I felt somewhat unimpressed. The menus given to us were kind of grimy and sticky, and the table barely wiped over.
Since I didn't really feel like I should trust the raw fish, I ordered a salmon shioyaki and a couple of vegetarian rolls - a walnut roll with ume paste, and something with shiitake mushrooms. I did give in (grudgingly) and ordered a spicy tuna hand roll. The salmon was decent for the price, and they gave me two huge filets which did impress me. I could only finish one and eat the rest of my food. Cooked food is a pretty decent deal here, though none of it was especially good. The rolls were surprisingly tasty; the walnut thing with ume was the highlight of my meal. The hand roll was way overspiced, to the point where it felt like they were trying to cover up any taste of the fish, which automatically made it suspect.
...I ate it anyway, 'cause I'm a tool. (And three days later, no sign of food poisoning. I consider myself vastly lucky.)
The service was some of the worst service I've ever had, which is why I gave it two stars. Advice to any aspiring waitstaff: when we tell you we need more time to decide, don't proceed to leave us alone for fifteen minutes. Also, please do not avoid our table after finally taking our order, except to refill our (very tiny) water glasses... once. Toward the end, we kept making eye contact with our waiter, for our check........ and ten minutes and a bunch of glares later, it came. We took it to the counter to pay because we didn't want to go through another round of glare, avoid, glare, avoid, glare, avoid, glare, service. -

The only thing great about this place is the price. But the price definitely reflects quality. I had some sashimi and some tuna nigiri and the day after, I had the worst stomachache! They definitely don't keep their sushi fresh.

Mmmmm....yeahhhhh....if given a choice, this place gets a pass from me. As in "pass by and go to the next eating establishment, no matter what it is."
While the under-$7 lunch special, which is a combination of a teriyaki anything (chicken, beef, salmon, shoe leather, etc.), tempura, and anything from gyoza to California rolls, is an insanely inexpensive deal that my New York wallet just flat out could not believe, this place just looks....busted. The green carpet (in a pattern that would not be out of place in a cheesy casino) lies in folds -- not flat -- as it is coming away from the padding beneath. The space is kinda industrial and lacking any charm. The waitstaff is forgetful and unfriendly. And the bathrooms....they have seen better days.
With prices like those, though, you can take this place as an alternative to going to a fast food joint. However, with that in mind, I would NOT take it seriously as a "restaurant." -

For those looking for a bargain lunch, this is the place.
They have a bunch of bento lunch specials. They have a sushi bar to sit at, with little boats carrying plates of sushi going around. The udon is always overcooked and mushy and falls apart in your chopsticks/fork/spoon.
If you are looking for good sushi, you'll want to look elsewhere. At most, they are edible. The rice bowls are alright. They do have a lot of custom rolls named after local places or business (apple roll, ibm roll, microsoft roll, stanford roll, etc).
Suprisingly, this place does get packed during lunch and dinner. You'll always find at least 1 table doing a very loud and messy round of sake bombs.
The service is so-so. Sometimes it takes a while to get more tea, water, or container for take out. -

I remember when this place first opened up, it was quite popular that even the Batmobile was parked outside. But I think these were times when people didn't know any better about Japanese food. And I think this might've been one of the first Japanese restaurants I've ever been to.
If I go here, I'd only come for lunch. Going for dinner is a ripoff. The lunch special is pretty cheap and they give you plenty of food too. Definitely not the best food around (for example, my California Rolls tend to fall apart when picking them up), but adequate for the price you pay for it. And who names the sushi rolls here? They got every Silicon Valley themed roll that you can think of.
I'd rather not comment on the service just because I'm afraid I might get spit in my food next time, but here's the deal from what I've been told: don't hassle the people there or you will find a surprise when they return your meal. So that should suffice with all you really need to know about that.
Come to Miyake if you just want cheap Japanese food. If you want real Japanese food, go some place else. And hopefully to direct people to the right direction, this is NOT the Sake Bomb party Miyake; that one is in Palo Alto. -

I too popped my sushi cherry here. Yes I have had better sushi but hey this place is cheap! I really like the staff here. They are always friendly and the guy already knows me and I what I always order. I would not suggest coming here if you are trying to impress someone. The decor is a bite out dated but it gives the place character!
If you want a quick sushi bite, quite place and reasonable prices come here! The staff is really great and funny. I just wish they had a better selection in their sushi bar..also I don't think refills are free, but I might be wrong. -

Review from Angie M.
Miyake's used to be a good place to get a decent priced meal, but the last few times I've been there, the quality has gone downhill. I used to order the salmon, but the last time I did, all I got was skin, bones, and fat. gross. I can understand why it's still busy: there is a big lunch crowd (students especially) and fast and cheap is always good for them.
I also read another review about the staff hosing down the kitchen while customers were still there. Either we were there at the same time, or this is a nightly ritual, but I was surprised to see them doing this at around 7pm, no where near closing time. It wasn't the most appetizing site to see.
Thankfully, I've never gotten sick from any of their food, but I don't think I'm going to chance it and go there again. -
Review from Stacey L.
Dropped off my sister at the building next to Miyake and noticed that they were closed! Not that I've had any craving to go there lately, but it really doesn't feel the not seeing MIyake while driving down De Anza Blvd. Used to come here when I was in middle school, and even in high school because it was cheap for the amount of food you got. I still came here several times freshman and sophomore years of college whenever my friend from UC Davis came back home because she'd miss it while being away (she lives a few blocks away from it). I even came in about a month ago to get a quick and cheap CA roll fix with my leftover sashimi from dinner.
Good-bye MIyake! Even though your food got worse and worse as time went on, you have been somewhat of a historical landmark in Cupertino for my high school friends and me. -

My friend Jenny and I always go for Sushi here. I usually go for the Chicken Terryaki dishes/Bento boxes. I went for Asahi beer as my beverage once, my first time trying that stuff. Super yummy. Whenever I drink Asahi, it reminds me of that place.
The service here is pretty good, as well as the food. I'll keep coming here until i'm sick of it or it shuts down. -

Wave the white flag!! GIVE UP ALREADY!
This restaurant has definitely seen better days. But even during the better days it was only okay. All the sushi chefs used to yell to welcome to all the customers coming in. Now they don't even notice or care.
The sushi here is a no go, especially the ones on the boats. You have no idea how long they have been sitting there. And don't even think about going near the raw fish.
They do have good deals on their bento boxes though. You can get three items for less than $10. It isn't too bad. But the teriyaki beef can be really dry. But the bento boxes aren't good enough reason to come here. There are plenty of other places with bento box deals that actually taste decent.
Steer clear, folks. Your tastebuds deserve better than this! -

Before you come here you need to understand that this is not supposed to be some authentic best sushi of your life place.
You come here because
Its Cheap.
Its quick.
Its close to de anza or where you live.
And youve probably been coming her for awhile.
Ive been coming here since i was 10 probably. It used to be alot better i admit. But i will still always come here.
The prices are unbeatable. I know most of the old timers that work there and appreciate their loyalty.
Its true their energy has gone down and the sushi just seems to lack what is used to. Buts its still my go to place for cheap quick sushi.
The chicken katsu is far superior to jj and barbeque though. JJ tastes nastily fried. This is much better more of a baked feeling.
And you cant go wrong with a spicy tuna handroll.
Its NOT unsanitary. Its just not an elegant place.
P.S. It seems to be the case when you order there now that they dont hear you as well as they used to. So speak up. Annuciate! And dont let them walk away without taking your full order.
Eh and another note i wouldnt order your classic california roll here, others are right its too mayonaised out. But their are good things on the menu. Like posticker rolls orTeryiaki rolls.
OH YES HOW COULD I FORGET.
Their Udon Tempura is great. I love it. Authentic noodles. With lots of veggies. and egg and tofu and such in the soup bowl. and its a huge bowl. Great for two. And its always steaming hot.
Get the Udon also -

Dear incompetent, rude waiter,
First of all, please do tell your (new) sushi chef that his rice skills suck! I've been a Miyaki customer for more than 10 years and ever since the chefs left to open Ariyaki in around 2004 or 2005, I've tried hard to stay with you guys, but tonight did it.
You were rude, did not get us tea. Left empty plates on the table while we bused our own plates to the other empty table.
And when customer leave you 12% tip (which is not bad consider how rude you were). Please take that as a hint and do not shake your head in disbelieve as you walk away.
Oh yeah, we never waited for the tea. We walked up to sign the credit card receipt ourselves and walked out of Miyaki for the last time!

I had very mixed feelings about this establishment. I have heard nothing but fun things about this place. So, I decided to go mainly for the drinking, the Saki bombs were very awesome and the atmosphere was fun, however, i did not plan on trying their sushi and what a bad idea that was. We ordered the Bento box meal and the tempura was good and the teriyaki chicken not so bad, but I am a hardcore sushi lover and this place was NOT up to par. I do not, by any means, advise that you eat the sushi. I think this place should just be a bar with a Japanese theme maybe with a few appetizers cause the food is not their forte. Neither is their service but it was crazy busy, i'm sure it would be difficult for anyone to wait in that given situation.
I give it the three stars because it was a great first time, Saki bomb experience, and I would def go back for a fun night of drinking.
