I like places like this that price their stuff to sell. Too often you go into antique shops and because prices are set so high, the inventory never changes. Yawn.
We went in just out of curiosity but found a beautiful set of German mid century dishes for such a great deal.
The owner was really cool and fun to talk to. Bonus! -

This is my new favorite place. It's bright and colorful, and smells good, and is completely un-claustrophobic, unlike many other antique shops. It's overflowing with fun and unique things to look at and buy at reasonable prices.
Great selection of hats (i saw an awesome 40s retro hat from Saks Fifth Avenue with a feather and gorgeous brooch under netting), hip glass buttons, dresses, furniture, all manner of chic antiques really. I saw many things that I would consider buying as gifts. They also stock new things like boxed stationary and soap. -

Love love love this place and have for many years. Half the furniture in my little apartment is from here and it all makes me so happy. From my little orange French table to my fifties formica topped cabinet that I use to hold booze. I've bought cute cowboy table cloths, mini red handled kitchen utensils and countless gifts. The prices are reasonable for used "vintage" furniture--not antique really. The sales women have always been lovely to me and are willing to hold items and make great suggestions.
Go there if you like pretty, old fashioned things. -

What a cute name for a cute store!
Tucked away somewhere between downtown and north Berkeley on Shattuck Avenue is a small antique store called Mixed Pickles. What caught my eye is the selection of woman's vintage clothes hanging outside on display. Most of the clothes are from the '40-60 and in more or less good condition but you do have to have a careful eye as some are labeled "as is". I purchased a beautiful mint condition French made vintage cocktail dress for well under $100. I was psyched when I realized it fitted me perfectly. This is a time when clothing makers made clothing to flatter Marilyn Monroe and Eartha Kitt body types.
The store also have a mixed selection of furniture, kitchenware, pictures, jewelry, nick knacks, toys, China and anything else you can think of. The prices overall are near reasonable and the woman who works there on most days is very polite and as unpretentious as you can get, which is a breath of fresh air. -

How weird. There must be a collective unconscious here in Yelp land. First Review only a week or so ago.
This store is a little gem. I love it. I have to admit, I have a thing for "shabby chic" and all things vintage. I go here to browse, buy gifts, and treat myself. I always find something. Last time it was a pair of mother of pearl earrings in a geometric diamond shape.....that sounds weird, but they are totally hip and were only $8!!
Full of treasures. Reasonably priced.
vintage linens galore, furniture, antiques, clothing and inspiration. -

Had great experience at store. Limited hours only drawback, but I expect those to expand once customer base and owners' schedules permit. Sharon a delight. Fun store with wide variety of things. Love the '50s things! A treat for the senses.

What a lovely treasure trove. I know I will find lots of presents here. Their taste is interesting and intriguing. My daughter was curious about the typewriter that was displayed and enjoyed typing the old fashioned way. I will be stalking this place for sure.

Thank goodness for store like this. This store was so fun to shop in so many many things I wanted. The prices are great and Roger was fun to chat with. I recommend this place to all my clients. Ladies ck out the sweet things from Jody Douglass, I get compliments on her ring and hair pin ALL the time.

I stopped in here one day out of curiosity - and ended up spending half an hour browsing all the delightful treasures and talking to the lady working there. Tons of cute stuff - a great spot to find an unusual gift for friends who love vintage goods.

Quaint little antique shop in the Gourmet Ghetto, it's always fun to take a peek inside Mixed Pickles. It's like walking into a treasure chest full of furniture and light fixtures from another time in another world, old postcards and photographs that tell a million stories, a small selection of vintage coats and jewelry, delicate French linen, and little trinkets throughout. J'aime ce magasin antique.

This place is a super cute antique shop. I have always preferred dusty antique shops that you can get completely lost in, but for its size, this one is great. They have old jewelry, hats, and vintage clothing, which are all surprisingly well prices, as well as other cute nick-nacks. Also, the employees are really nice and helpful.

I adore this place and if I ever move out of Berkeley, this is the one place I will truly miss. So much character and cute vintage things.....I can spend a good amount of time in here wanting everything that I don't really need. The owner is very nice and she said she scouts around the world and through estate sales to buy for the store. I have bought a few plates and trinkets from this place and I love them all! This is not your usual antique shops with dirty old things...everything is fine tuned and in great condition. They have great lighting fixtures and furniture! I must see while in the Gourmet Ghetto!
