Amazing!
After struggling to find vegetarian options west of the island, Sanma was my saving grace. I hadn't eaten in hours and didn't really know what to expect. However, my entire experience was pleasant!
I ordered online, which was very easy and convenient, and shortly afterwards, a woman called to confirm that I wanted to order from the Staten Island location. I found that to be extremely considerate to ensure there was no confusion if had I accidentally ordered at another location. The avocado and steamed sweet potato roll were phenomenal, and a steal at only $4.50 each! (If you are vegan, I would check with the restaurant to see if the sweet potato tempura contains eggs or dairy). The avocodo was very fresh and perfectly ripe. Both rolls were delicious!
Since the only hotels are on this side of the island, I will definitely be returning to Sanma the next time I am in town.!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Caitlin S.Staten Island, NY3126111Aug 24, 2023
A friend told us about this place because they have an ayce option. We didn't go there for this but they don't advertise it either. The three of us were seated immediately. Two of us order the blue Hawaii. After alittle while we order our food. I order brown rice avocado rolls with ginger dressing on the side and miso soup. My friend ordered the mango chicken, beef teriyaki, fried rice and sweet potato rolls. The lady looks at him confused and asks if he's sure he wants that. I think she thought it was a lot of food for just him but he says yes and that he wants the beef well done. My sister ordered Miso soup and tofu teriyaki. She didn't write anything done but requests the order to us. Everything she says is correct. Miso soup comes tastes like every other miso soup. Our food comes out hot but things are wrong. No salad dressing and the beef teriyaki was rare. So I tell her this is wrong it's supposed to be well done and she looks confused. So I said it needs to be cooked more so she says ok and takes it. My sister's dish looked sad because it was tofu with teriyaki sauce splattered on top of it. Everyone else's food is good. My friends beef comes back by the end of the meal so we get it to go. I'd go back for the ayce but that's probably it. Nothing wowed me.

One of the very first Japanese restaurants on the island that we have frequented for the past 13+ years. Service is always great and reliable and staff is like family. The pandemic couldn't keep us away as we opted for delivery once they reopened for business. Please patronize the restaurant when you're on the island!

We came here on a Saturday for dinner. There was no wait so we were quickly seated. The waitress was nice, but they are not very attentive.
We did the all you can eat option which did have a good amount of options. The sushi itself was decent, nothing special. I recommend the takoyaki as it does have a good amount of octopus inside. Their chicken teriyaki was pretty good as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - James G.Staten Island, NY461Feb 17, 2023
Today I made an order which the driver left the food next door and did not call me. I order regularly and understand common courtesy is to call the person.
The restaurant immediately called me as I was on the phone with Grubhub. I hung up on Grub Hub and called them immediately. This led to a back and forth for nearly 8 minutes with a female telling me the driver called the wrong number. I went over the fact they called me immediately. No one could justify that the driver could have simply called the restaurant to confirm the number.
I know they will never get my money again. I made it clear it was not about the money, nor was I looking to get anything free. Maybe customer needs to be retooled.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 11, 2019
Came here for dinner and decided to try the all you can eat, the food was decent and the service was fair. I do not recommend the octopus it was very fishy and I've never had octopus fishy and I do not recommend the salmon roe or the chicken teriyaki.
I do however recommend the salmon, it is great that they serve sashimi, the salmon was decent cut for ayce, wasabi tuna cracker was really good, the Kani salad and the avocado was good and so was the takyoaki. I highly recommend the salmon teriyaki.
I took off one star because they really messed up with the green tea ice cream, the ice cream itself was delicious however they coated it with corn flakes and threw it in the freezer premade and the corn flakes tasted stale and soggy and we all could have done without the corn flakes which ruined the whole ice cream experience. So a note to management would be save the cereal or throw it in after if that's how you want to prepare it.
Service was good they never forgot our order but we always had to ask for our tea to be refilled. There was no wait for a Friday night but we did see people start coming by the time we were doneHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5183372065Nov 30, 2019Updated review
Food and service was good. The people here are very welcoming and makes sure that your cup is filled with tea/water at all time. They did not have Uni and so they took it off our bill and gave us edamame for the inconvenience

One of my favorite sushi spots. They have all you can eat now which is great! But make sure you don't over order, because there is a charge for uneaten food.
Food is always fresh, and delicious. Highly recommend! Great for night out or date night!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mariam S.Jackson Heights, NY312137Sep 26, 2021
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE !!!!!!!
They present with what they call their "old menu" when you order which has cheaper prices then give you a check where each item is like 2$ more and then tell you well we have a new menu but never show it to you and expect you to pay the higher prices !!!!
Scam artists !
Call the police on us and held us in the store when we demanded we will only pay the prices we saw in the menu we got !
DO NOT EAT HERE !!
The food is low quality tooHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
