Mitchell's in Hyde Park is great! Helpful front desk, good products (Bumble & Bumble and Sebastian) and talented hair stylists and estheticians.

To be perfectly honest, I have to stop myself from cringing every time I enter Mitchell's in Hyde Park. The location is seriously convenient to my house in Norwood so I do visit relatively often (also because it's easy to secure a last-minute appointment), but the attitudes of the reception staff and some of the stylists/technicians at Mitchell's is something I could really do without.
I assume that the snobbery that seems to define the atmosphere of this Mitchell's Salon branch is an attempt by the staff to put their few ritzy and glamorous Hyde Park customers at ease. Let's be honest, though, the salon sits between one small, wealthy neighborhood (Hyde Park) and two significantly less affluent areas (Oakley and Norwood)...I'd be willing to bet that the majority of Mitchell's customers are more "average" than "elite" consumers, and those who make up the first group deserve to be treated in the same way that those in the latter group are.
I do my best to overlook feeling somewhat snubbed when I enter the salon (I look like a college student...not someone important, I guess) simply because I have never been let down, service-wise, by anyone at Mitchell's. I guess I'll sacrifice anything to guarantee the perfect shade of blonde...
