I have played this course for about 20 years.

It is a very quirky course with a little of everything.

The third and 4th holes are an example. The third is a very short par 4 with a blind tee shot and a drainage ditch right before the green??

The next hole is another short par 4 with a large drainage ditch on the left side next to the green that could be a pond if it were filled with water.

Both holes take driver out of your hands so it kind of makes it less fun.

Overall though you can score on this course if you are using good course management.

You can also shoot a much higher number than normal if you don't make good decisions and wonder how you could play so bad on what is a relatively easy course.

Honestly there are too many blind shots and gimmicks to take this course seriously.

Conditions used to be really awful for years but then about 3 or 4 years ago they were great.

I played a few weeks ago and the greens were really very slow which is a killer to me.

This course drives me nuts in that I can play really well on it or just butcher it totally.

I prefer my home course (Chula Vista) much more since it is more straight forward and a little longer.

Mission Trails is good for a short accurate hitter that doesn't want to pay too much for golf.

Once every 4 years is about right for me!

This course is fun and has some challenging holes. The elevation changes are fun too.  Some of the holes are in better condition than others. Overall a fun course, slightly over priced though.

So, this place was really cheap when I went....probably because they were reseeding, they punched holes in the greens, and there were about 10 ground under repairs on each hole....but it was probably worth the $20 that I paid.

Basically, let me lay out the course for you....

1)  WIDE fairways
2)  No trees, so even if you miss a fairway, which is nearly impossible, you still have a shot to the green.
3) small-medium sized greens
4) hardly any hazards except for those annoying little creeks through the middle of the fairway, which your ball just bounces in and out of
5) greens are slow
6) fairly hill-y
7) ghetto carts with no GPS
8) NO FRICKEN YARDAGE MARKERS ( I was fricken estimating from the 150 marker the whole day)

Yeah.  I wouldn't go here unless I was desperate and broke.

If you find the 20-25 dollar rate on certain golf websites then its a fun course. I wouldnt pay anymore than that.

The course has many elevation changes so it can provide some challenges for all ranges of golfers. The fairways are nice and wide so you can save par on your miss hits. The condition of the course is fair at best. Little concrete creeks run throughout the front nine which can get annoying and the greens can be fast on one and slow on another.

One complaint is this course can be very slowwwwwwwww. Many people come out here to learn and the marshal's don't really regulate the speed of peoples rounds so be prepared. Also, they run out of carts even when your reserve one!! I set a 2pm tee time with 3 others and showed up and paid around 130pm. Well at 220 they still were charging our carts and walkers were jumping ahead of us while we waited. When I asked the counter person about the problem the 15 year old told me "thats how it is". We finally decided to walk and the counter guy explained that we set an online reservation so there was no type of refund or discount he could give us. Not the best customer service.

Decent course for the price.  Slow play most of the time.  Employee's are very friendly.  Course is fairly short (less than 6000 yrds).

First things first....This is a public course that gets a lot of play. If you come here expecting Riverwalk or La Costa style greens and fairways, you won't find it. That being said what you can find here is a good and hilly 18-hole golf course for under $40. The course really isn't in the best shape in the world but that's ok, where it counts it does deliver. The back 9 is more scenic than the front 9 in my opinion, however either half is great to play. Ample fairways and minimal challenge (a few holes have a ravine running by or through them) but fun nonetheless. Average golfer should enjoy playing here.

Large hills and valleys...

...which make this golf course very exciting!
Price is fairly cheap - around $40 / round.
Staff is very relax - we were behind and the Ambassador was behind us, but he never said anything to us.
Fairly short course - 5739 from the longest tees and a par 70.

Only gripe is that it's about 10 minutes inland from any freeway.

If i had a choice of another economical course I probably won't come here, however sometimes you can get a great rate on a round. There are some interesting holes to play on, especially the last one because if you can't drive the green have fun hitting straight up the hill.  The course is kept in acceptable shape but i feel like the water sits in the low lying areas and makes it muddy but then you go to the back nine and there's tons of dry dirt to contend with (in other words if you're off the fairway the ball is going to roll off the course).  I think they took out one part of a hole and changed it into a par three instead of the original par 4 or which now makes it a par 70 course. boo.

We've played this course a couple of times because it is affordable at $25 to play, however the course itself is not kept up that well and some of the holes your shooting blind a lot which makes it frustrating. The greens are very fast and the fairways are muddy or very dusty. The course is kinda long so I would recommend renting a golf cart, because when you go to the back nine the walk can be torture. They also have a driving range here so you have the option of just practicing. Overall below average course.
