I had a great experience with Eric! The customer service was great. I sipped on a glass of red wine while Eric finished his client.
I walked in with med-long wavy hair and walked out with a beautiful bob.
I asked for a cut similar to Jessica Alba's/ Abbie Cornish/ Salma H. short hair styles and he NAILED it.
Not only do I plan on returning, i will tell all my friends about his great customer service and technique!!!
other positives of this salon: the shampoo/wash and style is included in your price!
my total was $75 (great price for a complete package).
If you are in need of a trustworthy stylist, go to Eric... you wont regret it ;-) -

Terrible color experience. Just not happy at all.
I am new to the area and was referred by my neighbor to this salon. The salon itself has a nice feel and upon arrival offered a cold drink. As for the service itself, I left the salon and didn't look back. I asked for highlights and came out with blah one-tone camel-colored hair. Gillian was my stylist and I was told by many of the staff I was in the best hands. All I wanted was some highlights and a trim. She proceeded to "break up my color" as well. This whole process took 3 hours. I made the mistake of asking Gillian to just trim my ends after my color process. And trim I mean wisp the ends! BAM! $75.00. For a trim!?!
I don't mind paying for good service and good results, but my hair is not highlighted. I am the color of a camel. Dull. The worst color I've ever had.
Sorry. I am just not happy with my results. I will not be back. -

Gillian is the BEST. I should just end my review there, because that sums it up...but, no, I shall elaborate.
I am the world's pickiest person when it comes to who can touch my hair, we've all had bad experiences, but I've really experienced some nightmares in my life, the worst of which would be at Ulta Salon where the girl actually turned my hair part green, part purple, part marigold, with toner when all i wanted were my roots highlights touched up. But nevermind the nightmares, I've digressed.
I was lucky enough to discover Gillian when as always on a quest to find a good cut/color, I decided to give Mission Ten Eleven a try about 4 years ago or so. She listened to what I wanted ('please keep as much length as possible, don't give me too many crazy layers'), and was creative and masterful at execution. She once gave me really cute "beach-girl" looking highlights where she teased my hair and highlighted...very natural and cute. She does bangs well, and always teases my crown for a lil' poof just the way I like. She's cool, laid-back, and friendly...I always know I'll come away with natural and healthy looking hair.
I would go more often for cuts, but I'm a bit lazy and have been letting my hair grow out, plus it ain't cheap here--but totally worth the splurge!
Also, great natural hair products on sale--many of which are vegan cruelty-free)!
P.S. My mum gets her hair done by Ernie, and it always looks awesome! -

It has taken me awhile to write this review but here it goes...Mission Ten Eleven is a beautiful little salon which is immaculately styled. I made an appointment with Armando for a Saturday at 10:30 the salon called to let me know he was running late and asked if I could come in about 11:00 instead I said yes because I thought it was nice that they had called to let me know instead of just having me show up and wait! When I got there he was still running behind but it was not his fault his first appointment showed up late and instead of turning her away he did her hair anyway which I thought was actually very nice of him even though it put him in a horrible time crunch. They served me a beautiful french press of coffee and 2 pieces of biscotti so the wait was not bad. I want to stress again how much of a time crunch Armando was in because even though I knew he was I never once felt rushed by him or felt that he was rushing through my wash, cut or blow out. He did a fantastic job on my hair and I have a lot of hair and it took him along time to blow it out and style it but I loved the cut and the blow out! This is my new go to place for sure. But people please be on time for your appointments... :)

Yup, ernie is awesome and will not disappoint. If you love your hair and love looking good then hit up ernie for a sexy new do.
The salon has a nice feel, very comfortable. Everyone was friendly and all the hair walking out the door looked awesome and polished. I can't say enough good things and I hate to share, but I can't keep ernie locked up - he's too good! -

Like most everyone else who has reviewed this salon, I love it here! From the moment I walk in, I feel relaxed and welcome. The staff all remember each person who walks in and greets them warmly. There is always someone immediately taking care of me and getting me settled.
Ernie is my stylist - and it is the best experience I have ever had in a salon. I recently "cheated" on him while on a business trip to get a quick bang trim. Even the stylist at that salon was raving about my cut. She couldn't stop saying - you have a great cut, you have a great stylist, this cut will last you forever, etc. She was in love with Ernie even from afar :) I do admit that I pay a little more for a cut here than I have in the past, but it's worth it. I love every cut I get and they do last wonderfully.
One time when Ernie was sick, I went to one of the other stylists (sorry - don't know the name - horrible with names) and she was also great - cheaper too if that is what you're looking for.
Armando gives the best shampooing head massages and I love chatting it up with him while I am being shampoo-ed. He's a riot!
I am a product junkie, but they always know exactly what will work for my hair. The one time I wasnt happy with one of the products, i brought it back in on my next visit and without a fuss they found something else for me (that I love) and exchanged at no cost with no problems.
Now on to the decor - I love it...it's an industrial mid-modern feel. The furniture and lighting is all perfect for the atmosphere and attitude of the place. I would love to copy the look for my own house.
Anyway, go to this salon if you need a wonderful cut and want to chat it up with some great peeps while you're there. Thanks, Ernie!!! -

Having not gone for a cut for 6 months my hair was looking flat and heavily damaged. I called in and got my hair cut with Gabriel. (who happened to also be from my alma mater) I just wanted layers all around and something lighter and more importantly, looking healthy. I told her to basically do whatever she thought looked best. She totally went for it! My hair went from lifeless to vivacious and voluminous.
And i have to admit that i was drawn to this salon solely on how beautifully it is decorated. The attention to detail of the salon is amazing and the whole atmosphere is so relaxing. such a great place! I totally recommend Mission Ten Eleven! -

HORRIBLE color experience at this salon. Gabriela gave a good cut, but the color is the WORST I have ever had IN MY LIFE. We talked about taking out some of the summer bleached out highlights. Fine. Then she proceeded to die it Marilyn Manson BLACK. Seriously awful.
I figure she either mixed the color wrong in the first place or took a break and left me sitting under the heater for too long. She also argued with me as to whether it was really too dark, said 'don't worry it will fade over 3 weeks' (WTF!) and left stains of color on my face, around my hairline. DO NOT GET YOUR COLOR DONE BY GABRIELA. -

This place is absolutely indescribable in terms of words. I can literally walk out of this place and scream with joy simply because I LOvEEEEEEEe this place. Yes it's my first time here but definitely a no regret alright.
The ambiance is soothing with a very laid back atmosphere where you can leave behind all that stress you encounter in life. The service and greetings I got was warm and welcoming as the girl there seated my sister n me with a glass of juice while we waited.
When it was our turn, we were given mini robe covers that we slip into to prevent bitz of hair from clinging onto our clothes during the cut. I don't know about others but I've always hated having to dress a little shabbier simply because I didn't want to mess up my nice clothes but this place handles it all well.
The wash was great as Gabriel made it very comfortable while we chit chatted. The sink was leveled perfect as I didn't get that feeling where water was seeping behind my neck or any discomfort.
Next comes the magical part. I was lucky enough to have both stylist, Ernie (owner) and Gabriel have a touch on my hair. Both were amazing stylist. Dude the way they handled the scissors was like sheer feather weights. It was like flying motions as every cm of trimming made hugeeee difference. Once thing I loved was that they both always leaves a little extra length because PROS will know that hair lengthens when wet and will SHRINK UP when dried. I've had sOOO many ridiculous stylist in the past who would always always over shorten what I wanted. It's like the feeling of "omgggg" and wanting to like strangle them but yet have no choice but still have to pay even when it's not what you initially planned on paying for. sighs.
I originally had really long hair, the ones where I can curl and look pretty once in a while. However I wanted a whole new look for work so I asked for their opinion. Yes a whole foot of hair was chopped off. I thought my heart was going to ache but OMG was I bedazzled by their judgments. My elevated bob looks so chic that I got compliments everywhere I went. It's such a cute and adorable look that simply looks effortless. I can see every cm of layers that made it looked and felt angelic and airy.
I don't know about other girls, but a hair cut makes a HUGGGGE difference on how you look. I'm definitely coming back here as they were able to finally do what I ask for. If you don't have a picture, no problem man, just tell Ernie or Gabriel and they'll know exactly what to do.
Cost is extremely reasonable. It'll probably range from 60-100 but you REALLY get what you want and can look sooo much hotter. lolz. I'll most likely go back and get my hair colored next time because I saw how the girl's hair next to me turned out. it was drop dead FABBBBBULOUS. hehhe. -

I love Ernie!
I was referred to Ernie by my b/f about two years ago after a horrible cut at Harroine (sp). At first I was a little wary of getting a referral from a man, but he insisted I go there since he referred a ton of other ladies to Ernie. I'm an Asian woman with a full head of hair, so I've learned that not everyone can work through all the hair, because I used to always end up with bad layers and having the god forbid, "Rachel" cut. Each and every time I see Ernie, he sits me down and says, "What are we doing this time?" Ernie is creative and has superb skills so I trust him fully. I basically tell him what I'm feeling, he listens and adds a ton of flair to it. My moods vary every now and then - some times i like soft side swept bangs, choppy bangs, change it up and get a sleek look with 6 inches off, get funky with a hot non-hipsterish mullet, he does it all! You know you have a good hair cut when 1. you get a ton of compliments from both men and women (even months after the cut) 2. Even when it's time to get a cut, it still looks good. There is no one else I trust with my hair.
PS He's hilarious and fun to talk to. -

Highly recommend this salon. I drive all the way from Manhattan Beach to get my hair cut by Ernie (the owner). The service is great complete with staff always providing drinks, great massages, etc. The salon itself looks great.

I can't stop looking at my new haircut in the mirror! Today as I drove to Puff Beauty to pick up some beauty products, I noticed that Mission Ten Eleven was a couple doors down from Puff. I remembered seeing some of the reviews of this place, and decided to walk in. Gabriella greeted me when I walked in, and agreed to cut my hair since Ernie was busy with another client. First, she washed my hair, and let my hair soak up some conditioner for a while (I had told her that my hair gets really oily, and she thought my scalp is trying to make up for the drying shampoo that I was using). We talked about what I wanted, and she got to work. The conversation was pleasant - not forced, and I felt comfortable being quiet as well. The cut ended up being pretty nice. I will definitely come back!
