Mission Inn Museum
2 reviews for Mission Inn Museum
The museum is decent but much less interesting the than tour that they offer. At $15 a person, the price is steep, but the money doesn't go to the hotel, it goes to the Mission Inn Foundation, which is a non-profit that "preserves, interprets, and promotes the cultural heritage" of the Inn (from the website: http://www.missioninnm...). So it's not like it's going to this huge commercial endeavor.
The tour is a good way of seeing parts of the Inn that you can't see if you aren't a guest, and some that you can't even see if you are a guest. Unfortunately, tours vary according to the availability of the different rooms, since many are used for weddings and other special events. In that regard, it's nice to go in the middle of the week. Tours also vary according to the guide, and since the docents are volunteers, some are better than others. But it's still a fun way of learning a little about Riverside's history.

A museum attached to the hotel's fascade. Fascinating collection of gifts, curious goods, and historical artifacts. Ask the staff about the history of the museum.
Shhhh. The rumor has it that it is HAUNTED!!!!
